Hi Can you let me know if this has been fixed/stopped mines doing the exact same but it gets worse and worse. Basically it pulls to the left slightly when driving and when the steering wheel is turned againt the natual left pull of the car there is a very loud squeak. as the the car pulls all the time and im constantly correcting this its constantly squeaking and really embarrasing as eveyone knows corrados get a lot of attention. Other things i have noticed with this - I was positive when the squeaking started it was on the opposite turn, i.e when i turned right it squeaked and now it doing this turning left. Also it doesnt do it on a inital drive when the car is cold, it tends to kick in once everything is warmed up. Can anyone give any advise/opinons on what to check, my thoughs on this are bearing, joints or wheel alignment (geometry) i dont think the brakes have any involvement? Thanks in advance Josh

Hi Baylez Im running the same as you. 1.8 16v. MPG - Round town i average about 18-20 but thats driving normally then upto 25-30 on a motorway. ive also been told these MFA's are not pin point accurate. Watertemp - Same again mate, round town spopping at light ect its sat around 104 then drops to around 80-90 when on the motorway Oil Light - Mine was flashing and beeping when going round corners fast then it goes away, i topped up my oil and it has not done it since. As for the oil temp ive not had any problems. HTH.

i know of a engine for sale in a MK2 Golf which is the 16V with the indiviual throttle bodies, apperently runnng 220bhp and he has a printout to show it. also seen a RS4 4.2 engine but i think this monster is too much for me
-
So i presume the 1.8T and the R32 are the easiest to do or its it done based on performance? i presumed there was a limit to wich engines go in and which dont. i would be changing the clutch and gearbox when the conversion takes place. so what would be a good engine to put in there, im not massively bothered about performace as it wouldnt be going on a track be being "ragged" everywhere i went. i would like something with a decent amount of power which wouldnt rape my wallet at the pumps. the 1.8T keeps coming into my mind but i feel this is too common?? any ideas anyone??
-
HI People ive got some pennies saving at the moment and its definaly going on a conversion, im currently running the 1.8 16V and i know the VR6 and the 1.8T can be put in my C but what else? ive found a Audi RS4 engine for sale and a Skoda VRS but im unsure if these are appliacble? also any other ideas of what will fit will be appriciated. Thanks

Mate seen a balck C this morning approx 10.30ish on beaumont road in bolton Also seen a Green VR at ASDA on Mancester Road in bolton and a White C at Middlebrook in bolton. anyone on here?
-
Ive not had anything checked as i dont know where to get it done or how much, ive just lived with it. The plan is to do a conversion so ive never really spent time on the engine just changed a few bits and bobs. Its true what your saying about the cilynder being broke every start would be the same. Ive still got my mind set on it being a misfire of some sort. but i know nothing compared to the mods on here.
-
To be honest mate when i got it back in September 08 it was basically how you expain yours is, now 7 months down the line and its doing what i explained. Ive had a few people listen to it (not mechanics but knowledgeable) when ive started it and tried to drive away and each person has advised "its a cilynder down". :(
-
i have very similar problems with mine. it will fire up 1st time in a morning but then once exceleration is applied the engine wants to cut out. once its been running for 30 seconds or so it corrects its self. Similar if the car has been left for a few hours, its damn near impossible to start and when it does it idles at 400ish or cuts out. it think its a misfire or cylender down on initial start.
-
I cant remember what size it was to be honest, but i can check, he said it was dependant on how many silencers was on and that they are normally 1/4" smaller as its full flowing stainless. i didnt really get him and i was already down there so i just got it done. i asked him a few questions you would expect him to answer "immy" (apperently the man in charge) but he couldnt really expain any question. overall im happy with the work thats been done and seems a reasonable price but im no mechanic and for all i know he could have screwed me over?? but i have lifetime warrany on the exhaust so if anything ever goes wrong they will sort it out.
