Was only messing  Just noticed today my right rear bearing is 'whistling'. That will be two years and 7,000 miles since the last change :cuckoo: :(
-
Well hopefully come June/July time I will ask Vince to stick my 263's and VSR on and remap. So I will be able to let you know! Oh and I have a BMC as well so should be a good benchmark for you.
-
I have never seen a std VR remapped to more than 205bhp. So I think 205 as a very generous control would be sufficient. So still very good gains to be had by just fitting the 263's. Anyone got a dyno of the 268's in their car with other minor mods ie exhaust filter? Matt

I have only just started 'tinkering' with my car sorting out a few problems myself and it is hard work if you are not very mechanically minded. However it gives you a great deal of satisfaction and saves you a shed load of money! Most things are just time consuming and fiddly rather than actually beyond the capabilities of the average Joe  I would say at least attempt to fix it yourself, you may be pleasantly surprised at what you can do. And what is the worst case scenario, you cant do it and then you end up breaking it.... Go for it, you know it makes sense, save another rado  Matt

I REALLY like my VR wheel :)
-
So how much to do that to a R32 then? :norty:
-
Total class

I'd always take rolling road figures with a pinch of salt. You are a lot better just driving the car and feeling how it feels! You could have two cars showing 250bhp on the same rolling road and they will drive completely differently. It is all very well banding on about power figures but really it is all about the power and torque curves and not the final figure.

You trying to say my cars to low and my wheels are heavy Jim? :mad2: No you are probably right, sure when my car was std though it used to still get through them circa 10k mile intervals. :confused4: Matt
-
Why is the Corrado so hard on bearings? Mine last 6k miles if Im lucky :(
-
They are more expensive to have done than you think. VW charge £30 plus per bearing. Whomever you take it to make sure that they have the right presses to fit them. Matt

Anyone have the part no's for timing chains and tensioners?

Golf VR6 slower then C VR6 - Please explain!
Leonard replied to sprinterVR6's topic in General Car Chat
The later Golf VR6's have the later management and put out similar power to the Corrado ie circa 188bhp -
But what does that mean? Does the real cheap stuff not contain the detergents? My friend who works in the oil industry swears blind that the supermarket lorries fill up from the same refineries as Shell, BP etc
-
That is real nightmare :( Feel really bad for you. You cannot really do anything until the insurance company gets back to you with a valuation and the cost of repairs. So yes I would take the iniative and find a local bodyshop you can trust and get them to give you a quote. Matt
-
Could it be the clutch on the way out? :confused4:
-
Yeah that would be superb. Shame they have that Dynamic script etched into them as well :(
-
Matlock  But we are getting out into the sticks a little now
-
So anything to add to the age old debate of Supermarket petrol is sh!t?
-
Yeah your wanting someone to suggest a supplier  Why dont you just get it from the local VW dealer?
-
I have one of these: http://shop.audioimages.co.uk/alpine-id ... -1082.html Cost me £90 and it sounds great has Ipod and USB connectivity and goes really well with the Corrado interior Matt
-
Nice one sounding good! Best get mine fitted soon then

Now I am hoping you are going to say YES, but........ Has anybody else got results anywhere near as good as yours? Matt
