As above- make sure you get one from VW. They usually have them on the shelf as they are used by later Polos etc.

Sounds like a decent project. Just depends if you want a project or not! Ditch the twin cones- paper filter for G all the way- gotta look after that charger...
-
A little more info? Decent G60s hold their value better than any other Corrado, and are getting scarce. If it's a good 'un, keep it!

There's a link in the For Sale section with the guidelines- just above the 'Post New Topic' button at the top left. Should really accept first unconditional offer at asking price, but if people are haggling it's up to you, so long as you keep it fair. Minefield! Lol!

Got mine for around £45 inc discount from my dealer 10 months ago. Availability seems to be very patchy though. Really nice quality- good backing, embroidered logo etc.

Thanks for stepping up! I think it's just a case of everyone getting used to the new format- the forum was similar with past face lifts. Takes a few weeks for posting to get back to what it was before the change. Gonzo, any progress?

Putting my Corrado VR6 Storm up for sale and want Feed back please.

Hi mate, sorry to hear you're thinking of selling- sounds like a cracker! Have moved it to General Car Chat, as it's not a proper For Sale ad as it stands. Here're the selling guidelines (which are in a link at the top of the For Sale pages): FOR SALE GUIDELINES - Please Read Before Posting Please note that when you place an advert for your items for sale, you must adhere to these rules: •You MUST include a price. •You cannot ask for "offers" or take bids. •Please give as much information and where possible photos to aid the sale and reduce confusion. •If a sale has been confirmed, you must not take any further offers. •Once complete, you can close your own thread. IMHO, if you're not in a hurry to sell, you could get around £5K, so long as it is in VERY good nick. Cars with this sort of mileage are becoming very rare now, and I'm sure there are people out there looking for low mileage Storms, who are willing to spend a little. Maybe worth waiting a couple of months until the weather's improved, the evenings are lighter etc, as winter's a terrible time to sell. -
Nice mota! Like the wheels. Cool dog too! :-)

Smilies are in the 'Go Advanced' option at the bottom.

Huge thanks to Jon (Dukest) for the Lamin-X indicator overlays- free of charge! You're a star, matey :-) They fit fine too.

Coolant gasket advice needed to defeat the Stealer......

Nice one- glad it's sorted. The expansion tank sensors are rubbish! Thankfully yours hasn't failed totally. -
Welcome back, Ant. I remember looking at your Nugget G60 at Woburn- cracking mota. Looks like you've found a good 'un.

Whatever you do, try to find one with a flexi. There are one or two aftermarket ones that have a flexi, or you could get one put into a custom jobbie no probs.

They've gone now! Gonna miss their insightful reviews though... Was pleasantly surprised by 'The Other Guys'- very funny + a good cast. 7/10

Black Magic VR6 - Turbo shopping list started...

Glad you've decided to keep it- stunning car! A turbo'd VR will be sooooo much better than an S3 :-) You've made the right choice. -
Received a petrol flap from Chis- great condition, bargain price & ultra-fast postage! Thanks!

Changed the coolant hose that goes from under the expansion tank to the aux water pump/stat housing. Pretty painless really. Also replaced the bracket for my BMC as the other one had sheared off.
-
May just be current UK stock Jake. Just give your local dealer a call.

Jon isn't that 16v that the guys are breaking a 9a? Wings will be different to yours- will still fit, but not sure it will look quite right without the other late front end stuff (bonnet, bumper etc).

As Steve said, once it spins around, it means the plastic in the rad housing is cracked. The nuts and bolts option is worth a go before you shell out for a new rad- not tried it before, but sounds like a plan! Valeo make stuff for VW and are a good make. -
Thanks to purple tom for the coolant hose. As described and arrived very quickly. Thanks mate!

A bead of sealant should work short term. If it was mine, I'd soak it with plus gas (or WD40 if you haven't got plus gas) overnight. Tap it with a hammer. Get an Irwin bolt gripper on there and take it off. If it snaps, it won't fall in the rad unless you're incredibly clumsy! Strange thing for a mechanic to say, as the screw is set away from the hole... You could even cut away the plastic of the elbow around the bolt to give better access, you could get some plus gas right in there. Be very careful with the plastic top of the rad though. I had the same prob a few years ago and managed to crack the plastic, which meant new rad time.
