    Cleaning alloys

Thanks for the heads-up! They're nice wheels, but a complete and utter PITA!
  2. Right, had a really good search and found 2 pics (hope you guys don't mind me borrowing your pics). I'm leaning towards the Borbets to be honest. Cost is going to have a big say in what I go for, and I can't seem to find either type of wheel for sale anywhere! What do you reckon my Kahns are worth? They're in good nick (a little minor kerbing) with good rubber all round. What do you guys think?
  3. Ah yeh, had that on my first G60 and it made a horrid sound.
  4. Does indeed sound like the classic bearing symptoms. Clunk could also be CV joint or engine mount.
  5. g60greeny, that twin inlet really does look the business!
  6. Anyone? I'm crap with computers and don't have Photoshop- would really appreciate it!
  7. Yeh, it should definately have the later interior which includes the rotary controls and also the flat rear bench for the 16v and the 8v.
  8. Laura, where did you get the eyebrow spoiler from? Is it abs plastic or fibreglass?
  9. Yeh, if it smells of coolant it's the matrix...
  10. Check the sunroof drain holes and the drain holes in front of the windscreen/scuttle. Loads of crap gets in there. Also check the passenger door membrane. I had a leak in my old G60, with a similar amount of water to you, and it turned out to be the membrane. You'll need to take the door card off. The sticky stuff is meant to stay sticky and be re-useable so you might be able to just press the polythene back on if it's come loose at all. HTH! ps- don't give up on your C!
  11. Those wheels are absolutely perfect for a yellow C! Nice one.
  12. Sounds like the fuel filter. Get it checked out- never safe to be leaking fuel. Maybe one of the hose ends has perished or something. Worth getting a new one anyway as they're pretty cheap. Mine has been dripping occasionally, mainly because the fixing clamp isn't there anymore so it just swings about on a cable tie. The pipes don't look too good either. My local garage are going to sort it with a new clamp and hot air gun to shrink the hoses snuggly onto the filter.
  13. Would someone be so kind as to do a chop of my car on Estorils? Am seriously considering changing the Kahns, and want to see how Estorils would look. Really like the Kahns- they look good and are so easy to clean, but I prefer the ride 15's give. Always liked Estorils and Borbet C's (Jim's car has made me think!). Cheers! :D
  14. Soooo much better, Jim :D Borbet C's suit the Corrado down to the ground 8) Are they 15's or 16's?
  15. Looking good, Phillis! Loving the rims 8) Thought about getting the number plate surround coded? Would totally finish off the back imho 8)
  16. Had school trip today and had to take the car along (in case my wife went into labour!). When we stopped for lunch all the kids piled off the coach and walked past the car- got 30+ chufties! :D 'Awww, nice car, Mr Carrick!' 'Can we go with you on the way back?' etc etc. When I first got it, I told my class, and at playtime they all went tearing across the playground to gawp- one of them even said he beat up his cousin 'cos he didn't like it  Well trained
  17. I like this, apart from the rear lights and the bonnet extension. Looks like quality work.
  18. Welcome! Another local 8)

Welcome! You should be able to get a good 'un for under £2K.
  20. Not impressed to be honest. Looks well built, but it's just a bit ordinary. It's a Passat with a gimic. If I had to go for a cab, it would have to be an A4, S2K or 350Z, all for similar money. No brainer IMHO.
  21. Valver if you're on a budget. Just check the service records and make sure all the big things have been done e.g. it's got recent discs and pads, cambelt, tyres etc, then hopefully you won't be landed with any major bills early on (unlike me!).
  22. Hmmm, don't think I'd ever describe a VR as boring. I'd have the VR noise over the 20VT noise every day of the week. Prefer the power delivery too. That said, I do like the 20VT and would defo consider dropping one into my C in the next couple of years. Either that or a 24v V6...
  23. Front looks perfect, back does seem a little high :? I had a Koni kit fitted a few weeks ago and was also concerned with the drop- it didn't really look any different to standard. However, since then it does seem to have 'settled' a bit more, and I've been assured that it will still take a little while to reach it's proper height. The front and rear look similar though, unlike yours... Did you have new rear bump stops? Think you're meant to hack a few mm's off. Not sure if this would affect the height like this though.
  24. Vibra Technics front mount is quite highly regarded. Mine was around £110 from Stealth Racing. With these you only ever need to replace the insert in the future. Some people use the Golf diesel solid gearbox mount. I wouldn't personally go for a solid front mount, as they tend to give a fair amount of vibration, and some people have had some more serious probs with them too.
