I changed one once and they only needed my insurance details. Just had to pay the screen excess, and they did the rest.

If you've done loads to it, get it back to standard and sell the bits seperately. You will get way less if you sell the car fully modded.
-
That's how all S14A's look from the factory 8) Know how you feel with the house- we've just bought one and it's pretty crippling!
-
Nice one, Nikki! Must have seemed like an eternity! Glad the beast is up and running again  :)
-
Jedi, have you considered a S14A 200SX Touring? IMHO the best value coupe out there. Bloody quick, reliable, rear wheel drive, look good (very mean from the front), lots of kit in the touring, fantastic tuning potential for not much dosh.

Black K-reg driving past the Ford Dealership in Sittingbourne, 8.10 this morning.

Dark blue L-reg 16v parked up in car park near Westgate, Canterbury last night at 7.30pm.

Scott, they get into the blood, don't they? Starting to miss mine. To make things worse, the vRS still hasn't arrived (may be another 5 weeks) so I'm driving my wife's 1.1 206... Just out of interest, how much would you be selling the 200 for?
-
Blair, the vRS has the 1.8T 180bhp lump- same as the 180bhp TT (the 225bhp TT has a bigger KO4 turbo, but the same engine). Jabba do a really good remap etc that takes it up to 215-235bhp (depending on other mods etc).

andy665, shopped around a fair bit, and it was the best I could find at the time. The standard car without the options was only £13K which is amazingly cheap- list price is around £14.5K for an estate with no options. Could probably find cheaper now because the new vRS will be out in the Autumn sometime. Jim, good thinking with the R32- have seen a few for sale around the £15k bracket. Would rather one of these than a new GTI.

Saturday- early white C with 5-spoke alloys, DTM exhaust and tinted rear lights in Tetbury, Glos. Today- Mystic Storm at Clacket Lane Services on the M25 at around 4pm. Parked next to an AA van (hope you hadn't broken down!).
-
Cupra or vRS. vRS is an absolute bargain- got a brand new estate on order- black magic pearl paint, heated seats, parking sensors, air bag switch + all the standard toys (climate, CD changer etc) all for £14K! IMHO there is no other brand new performance car that comes close for value.
-
Had one already fitted on my fist valver- didn't look too bad (maybe a bit chavvy) but it knocked the whole time and was starting to melt the bumper! Changed it for an oval Magnex 8)

Yeh, mine weren't even checked at my last MOT.
-
Love the M-Coupe! Really quick and look nice and aggressive. Rare too. Would love one, but they're still really expensive (for me anyway).
-
Loads on Autotrader at the mo- although most are tiptronic autos. There's a beautiful black v-reg Civic Coupe VTI for £4250 too. Lovely mota!
-
Rawhide, if you go for a later one with full Honda history, you'll be fine. In Parker's Price Guide the Lude is the no 1 second hand car for reliability. 'Nuff said. There is a later 2.2 VTI around the corner from me in black- really nice car. Make sure you get a manual though- had to borrow my mate's tiptronic Accord for a couple of days, and I couldn't stand it all the time. I've had 2 Civic VTI's and apart from regular servicing, never had to spend a penny. Preferred the 1.8 'cos it's a lot more torquey (more than the 2.0 16v C) than the 1.6. Don't think you'd find lack of torque too much of a prob in the 2.2.
-
If you want a sports coupe type of thing that will be reliable with little expenditure, the Prelude is your car, or maybe an S14 or S14A 200SX (check out the one for sale in the Ebay and Misc bit!). You could get yourself a nice late 2.2 VTI Lude with all the toys for well under £5K.

Hi, try a search- this has been discussed loads! As well as the ISV, check the pipes leading into it. My first 16v developed a terrible idle all because there was a small hole in one of these pipes. 5 minute job to sort it. HTH.

My last VR (which I've just sold) had a replacement engine from a low mileage VR. Was absolutely fine- had no engine related problems while I had it. Always started first time, pulled really well etc etc. Just make sure it was someone reputable who put the new engine in.
-
Well spotted, Kev!
-
Sounds like the MAF. If you disconnect the MAF, the car should splutter and die within a few seconds. If it's knackered the car will carry on running with it unplugged. Could be wrong, but I've tested MAFs in this way before.

I guess there must have been a bit of a cross-over. Think there's one or two early VR's with early interiors too :?
-
The first 2.016v's were J-plates (like my first one). Should have the late interior, ABS and no rear arm rest if it's the 2.0- otherwise it'll be a 1.816v. As the others have said valvers are going very cheap at the mo'. Not worth much over £2k. Prob need a head rebuild too at that mileage.
