so just scouring the net to see if theres a turbo kit for a 16v corrado and came across this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COMPLETE-TURBO-KIT-VW-VOLKSWAGEN-16V-2-0L-GTI-NEW-/170463425123?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27b0697263#ht_1345wt_827 i have a 1.8 16v but this shouldnt drastically different should it? and at least it saves sourcing a lot of other parts, however by the way the add says only a 90 day warranty i think if i were to purchase, i would buy a better turbo seperately! i dont know, i just wondered what you lot thought as you have lots more experience than me! also does anyone know of any turbo kits for the 1.8 16v rado? mines a 1990 model and not sure about engine numbers etc....

Well after readng through a few airbox mod threads on this forum i decided to take the horn out of my airbox, for anyone who hasnt done this then do it! Its a 10min job and the results are awsome for a simple no cost mod, it sounds so much better bit more beefy i think is the right word, also while i was at it i got the dremmel out and smoothed the inside of the airbox in an attempt to smooth the airflow and maybe get a bit more performance, i dont know if it has, but in my mind its probably added about 10 hp easiy :norty: Next on the list of things to do is to get an 4-1 exhaust manifold and stainless steel system, then coilies (its just lowered on springs and shocks stm) then acquire the bits for a turbo conversion (its a 16v 4 pot atm) Anyways its great on the forum and very happy i joined, i know this is a pointless thread but it sure as hell beats work! heres a pic of the old girl, shes a work in progress but shes certainly getting there!

been using a blade forever and never had a scratch from it although i do wipe the blade after every pass....plus saves money on having to buy new drying towels all the time, just take your time and youl be fine, generally i use a quick detailer (demon shine - as its as good as any and you get a lot for your money) once the car is dryish then polish then wax with a rotary polisher and bish bash bosh and the jobs is done (and i dont have swirl marks from the drying blade)

couldnt agree more although this set is by snap-on!! they were previously chewed by the previous owner using some argo specials by the looks of things,, i dont think i can fit a drill in there may have to cut a notch out then tap it out with a screwdriver :( oh well... cheers for all your help :)

okay thanks for that, will keep a look out or save and buy a proper 4 branch manifold! Also, i wanted to get my throttle body off to clean it all out to help it run better and too polish it but the allen key heads are worn, is there a good way to get these off as theres not much room in there for impact tools etc....

i know this is a long shot and i apologise if its been covered before but.... will a mk3 golf 16v 1.8 gti 50mm manifold be a direct fit onto my 1.8 16v corrado? If not then what other vw models would fit? im trying to squeee as much power out before i do any drastic engine conversions as the engine is pretty low mileage atm! any advice would be great, cheers!
