  1. Im sceptical as too how it doesnt scratch but could be useful for when at shows/ short on time? so many to chose from just type in "waterless car wash" into a search engine, has anyone used any before and what do you think? http://www.jmldirect.com/product.asp?pf_id=M4201&gclid=CI6jhu3LxqQCFQ_-2AoddR8oEw&changecurrency=GBP
  2. also the arse is too high so need to wind down the coils to get a better stance, going to purchase some hubcentric spacers too next pay day!
  3. if im honest the polo did handle better than the rado  but the suspension on it was set at the perfect height and the tyres/ rims combo was the perfect width so it just gripped and gripped and had pratically no body roll, im trying to find the guy who bought it and buy it back for a track day car lol As for the bonnet i didnt fit it tbh, but im sure whoever did also fitted wings aswell as they look a bit beefier than the other early rados iv seen. Still waiting for the bonnet to be resprayed along with the doors so in gloomy weather its a bit of a miss match of colours but in the sun its not so bad and if you dont know its slightly odd shades then you done seem to notice it, specially when its polished and waxed! thanks for all the comments!

so went to change my cams today to fast road cams....got al the engine unbolted etc....IT ALREADY HAD THEM IN!!!! :epicfail:
  8. this thread should be locked, you lot disgust me! if you want a diesel buy a cheap diesel, dont sacrifice a perfectly good corrado!!! if your gonna be spending upwards of a thousand doing it then then just buy a cheap mk3 golf tdi....and keep the rado!?
  9. check this out too, someone on here showed me this, it explains everything!! http://www.qpeng.com/conversion_guide.html bugger me it is that simple! now to source a mk4 20v.....
  10. this cant be right, am i failing to see sarcasm!? just drop the 1.8t from a mk4 straight into the rado, withought changing the gearbox or anything no way can it be that simple surely!!?? just be careful buying a writen off car as the engine may be knackered especially is it has rolled and oil hasnt got into the engine whilst running....
  11. is this as rasy as i think it is, just tkae the throttle body off (if i can as the allen key heads are all rounded....cheers previous owner!) then undo the bolts and wip it off? i want to polish it all up to get under the bonnet look a bit nicer, any help appreciated cheers!
  12. does anyone know where i can purchase or get made a bonnet bra for my rado that isnt black!! I want one thats either dark brown or the same sort of colour as an r32 interior. I think these colours would look better on my white 16v and i plan to have the interior re trimmed in a similar colour to all match up (obviously im not trying to match the interior to the colour of the bonnet bra but visa versa!) any ideas?
  13. trying to upload more pics but it says the pictures are wider than 800 pixels so, computer says no! and i cant be ared to change them all individually as that would take forever!!! ill find a way and update soon... :epicfail:
  14. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?s=315a4884914648c9218979f5c24321e7&t=64610 this will explain everything....
  15. No didn't try claying as my clay bar is filthy! Think I do need to bite the bullet and go the rotary way, although buy a decent one as my one from halfords caught on fire this weekend! Ah well at least it's only under White light the swirls are noticable, also can't reccomend the megs stuff highly enough for the money absolutely brilliant for the diy detailer!
  16. is this actually possible!? I bought some megs paint cleaner, polish and also there carnuba wax to try and get rid of my paint swirls but i swear you cant by hand and i dont have a rotary polisher.....yet. Has anyone managed to do it? Also i 1500 wet and dried my bonnet as their where may tar marks and blemishes and thought this would get rid of them, it come up pretty well after using the 3 previously mentioned megs products but it still has swirl marks in white light! How can i get rid of them and what am i doing so wrong!!!! :help:
  17. that guide is amazing, you may literally have just solved all my problems, cant thank you enough for showing me that!!!!
  18. thing about the tfsi lump is that i wouldnt know where to start, at least with the tt engine people have done it before so i know it can be done! plus it got to be done on a budget and iv never done an engine conversion before so dont really know whre to start! What engine mounts will i need? i think once its in ill be okay hooking everything up (although some supervision would be good!) And it needs to be done pretty much within a weekend as the cars my daily!!!
  19. yeah 1.8t is pretty much at the top of the list of things to do, if anyone wants to come over and lend a hand then ill pay in beer!!! may get that late bonnet too.....
  20. tt engine it is then, although i need to save more pennies as i think they go for about 500+!!! ahh well watch this space......thanks for all the advice!
  21. ha then 1.8T it is then... My mate actaully has a 20v turbo 1.8 engine from an audi tt in his rado and that thing literally flies!!! may go down the same route as him, unless a different engine is recommended?
  22. cheers guys, yeah new paint on the wings and bumpers the doors, bonnet and roof are getting done withing the next month too! and yes that is one solid roof thank god (ive heard the horror stories about them leaking!) yeah think the borbets work really well with the white colouring althouh i think i need some spacers on the back and smaller spacers on the front just to get the stance right and then when the coilovers arrive also have the stance set up and looking fresh! As for the body shop its called willows garage and their in suffolk, absolutely first class work done there and there good honest guys who love their cars so are always willing to help, there a small company (dont even have /need a website) most of the work is through word of mouth, if you need a hand finding them then let me know because they are superb! Didnt know mine had a late spec bonnet!? hey ho it makes me smile just gonna keep it looking fresh and running sweet, although i am toying with a vr converesion / turbo atm!!
  23. hi thanks for the replies ive been out all evening so havent been able to get back to you.... im based in suffolk but am willing to travel to have the work done, ideally id like to learn how to do it with someone as a guide but realistically i think im gonna have to pay to have it done. I did email stealth today asking them a few questions and if the vr kit could accomodate the 16v so am waiting to hear from them! thanks for the link to the one for sale, i think if i were to do it though i would want to do it to my own engine even if that meant replacing all the internals because then id know its been done 1000% correct and the satisfaction would be that much greater. however iv also been toying with the ideal of putting a vr lump in and then turboing that as the kit is already available and doing more might mean doing less if you get what i mean!? Keep the ideas and advice coming! thanks again
  24. yeah i think your right, ive done everything else properly like paintwork, servicing, wheels, tyres, brakes would be a shame to have a piece of crap turbo bolted to it all if its not gonna work or blow the engine up or something! just finding it hard to source all the parts for a turbo conversion, and i would like it to be a simpleish job and thus bolt on would be great! i think i may just have to take it somehwere and get it done becuase i dont have the knowledge and neither do any of my friends!!!
