To avoid filling the RR day thread, us southerners should also convoy cos it'll be fun! UPDATE: Charlie has suggested we meet at the Chieveley Services on the A34/M4 junction and this seems like the best idea. We want to leave Chieveley at 7.40 and no later so please be there for 7.20am. Please put your name down so that we know who to wait for. ollievr6 scarlet_vr6 chazrad

Tracking/alignment - what do they need to adjust?
OllieVR6 replied to OllieVR6's topic in Drivetrain
Thanks chaps. Just for clarification, what are the different adjustments that can be made? I know what camber is and that it can only be adjusted on the front, and I think that alignment is making the front wheels line up with the back wheels. That just leaves tracking which is making the front wheels go in straight line whilst the steering wheel is straight, is that correct? -
Hope this question isn't too stupid. I need to get the tracking/alignment done but before I book it in I want to make sure that anything they need to adjust isn't seized. I've seen the nuts on the threads of my track rods and they look like they haven't moved in years! What would happen if I take it somewhere as it is? Would they be able to free them off or should I replace the track rods first? Is there anything else I need to check? I know the camber adjustment should be ok as I have just replaced the four bolts on the bottom of the front struts. If I'm replacing the track rods, should I replace anything else at the same time? I'd imagine at the very least I need to replace the track rod ends as well? Thanks in advance folks.

[Forza 4] Top Gear Corrado Challenge (Pg 8)
OllieVR6 replied to Yandards's topic in General Car Chat
Thanks Yan, I'm in now :) Been playing more today, up to driver level 10 now. I do every race in my Corrado and just tune or de-tune it as appropriate. All my performance mods from VW are free now so it doesn't cost anything to go from base spec to 450bhp lol.....if only I could do that in real life! -
Think I saw this one about the same time today. I think it was blackberry (although it was dark), whoever it was drove past my flat rockin' some BBS wheels I believe.

OllieVR6 replied to Yandards's topic in General Car Chat
I just sent a request to join the club (BustaVR6). -
In the first picture I thought someone had photographed my car, then as I read more, I realised mine still looked like that

My VR did this once. Water 'disappeared' topped it up, it did it again, topped it up a second time. Hasn't done it since, that was a year ago!

I can't remember his username but the same thread is on here somewhere. What is even more impressive is that at the time, the guy was only about 17/18 years old!!! Amazing stuff.

Haha, I've been with her 4 years and I think she has only farted once, and even that might have been me ;) I have some new(er) seals in the garage I will definitely check that out. Now that you have mentioned it, I guess that is the only place to check, unless there is anything in the bulk head that could be missing a grommet or some such? How much adjustment is there in terms of the door and the pressure put on the seals? I have recently fitted new strikers and noticed that they have a small amount of movement, perhaps I messed up the alignment?

Hopefully this is just a quick one, but I wanted to check! I was on a dual carriage way the other day and the wind noise from the passenger side was immense, sounded like the window was almost all the way down (it wasn't). At the moment I have fairly limited interior, there are no under dash trays, carpet or roof lining whilst I'm waiting to fix the leak (which is coming from the top corner of the windscreen, passenger side). Considering how much of the interior is out and the leak around the windscreen, would you expect bad wind noise? Or is there something else that needs to be investigated? Ta!

Yeah totally. You can and should clay metal and glass. Sent from my HTC Desire

As the old audioscape pods are getting hard (and expensive) to find, I'm looking to have a go at modding some standard ones to take larger speakers, but I don't want to chop mine up without having some spares. Not sure if these are common and what they are worth, let me know what you got!

Meguiars G220 Dual Action machine polisher - STILL AVAILABLE!
OllieVR6 replied to tony_ack's topic in Ebay and Misc
Yeah sure, it's at my parents atm but next time I'm there I'll stick it in the boot of the car. It might be dead dead but if you know how to fix it or want it for parts it's yours. I bought it off ebay 'used once' which I don't doubt, it was like new. Worked fine for about 6 months then just stopped one day. I didn't have the original receipt and I think it was just over 1 year old by that time. -
