1. There has been a thread about the wheels on the car in the first post before. From what I remember they have been spaced out and adapted to be the right PCD?
2. Lovely machine! I have relatives in Penzance, I love it there but I haven't been for ages :(
3. The stealth look is what I've been going for, although I keep going back to the idea of Silver speedlines, maybe I should have 2 sets!. At the moment I'm trying to decide if I should do my 288's red, black or silver. Black is top of the list at the moment to go with the stealth theme. This is how it's looking at the mo
4. Ah right, thanks for the reply! I have locking nuts but not the VW versions so I hope I'll just need one set.....at least you have some spares :)
5. I love your car, I can only dream that mine will look that good one day! Can I ask about the wheel nut covers...I want some, are they one size fits all, did you get them from the stealers or ebay?
6. Hmm weird, when I replied earlier today, this was the only post in this thread. It all makes more sense now!
7. I've got this part which I ordered in error, not sure what it does but what I actually wanted was number 17a in your image which is now obsolete :( Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
8. Hey man, I found this thread (and your car) when I was doing an image search for pressed plates on a Corrado. Your car looks lovely!
9. Lets see some more pictures please, I need some motivation to carry on with my stubborn piece of crap VR. I'm considering some legal pressed plates but I can't decide if I want a GB badge on them or not.
10. Thanks For The Update. Typing Like This Is Really Hard Though!
11. Haha! Any chance of getting a less aggressive version of this?
12. I think it's time for a new sig then Karl :)
13. Thanks mate but I have already ordered a Golf unit from ebay. If it's no good I will give you a shout!
14. This is broken isn't it? Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
15. Doesn't sound like anything unusual with an old car. Even buying a 'good' Corrado for top money you are going to find things break, bodge jobs by previous owners or garages and so on. Obviously these things aren't limited to Corrado's either! Stick with it, when you get the handling sorted you will change your mind for sure! Also, there is LOADS of room in the dash for the head unit and all the connectors you could possibly want it just takes a bit work to get it all tidy. I would suggest perhaps removing the lower shelves to give you a better view and easier access.
16. Right I have found the problem (I think), I have removed the downpipe as I found the collar on the O/S pipe was no longer attached to the pipe itself (I assume it shouldn't do this?) I will upload a picture tonight. I need to know if a Golf VR downpipe is the same or if anyone has a Corrado one that I can buy please? I have ordered all new studs and gaskets from the dealers but there is one gasket that is now obsolete (the downpipe > cat gasket). Will I be able to get one from somewhere like GSF?
17. Hi guys, my C is in lots of bits for various reasons but I am keen to get an MOT on it. Most of the interior is out, what can I get away with for the MOT? As long as the seats are bolted in and the belts all work that should be enough I would have thought? How about sun visors? Cheers
18. We are thinking it might be easier getting to the bottom two from underneath? It's not that we can't get to them from above, there just doesn't seem to be any room to move the wrench.
19. Well myself and Dad can't really see what's going on but we think it's the downpipe. Even if it isn't, then it will be a gasket and the downpipe needs to come off to do that anyway. Any tips for getting the nuts off? 4 are easy to get to, but 2 are in a really **** place!
20. ...in my exhaust! I have managed to get the heat shield off, and I know the general area, but it's so hard to see! With a light I can see the gasses are rising around the left hand side mani (drivers side), but I can't work out if it's a gasket or a hole. I managed to get my hand in between the manifolds before it got too hot and I think I could feel a hole at the top of the downpipe just under where it connects to the manifold. Is this is a common place to get a hole or is it likely to be a gasket? Any tips for getting more visibility around that area? Cheers!
21. I didn't know that isolators existed, but I would have thought a trickle charger is the best option? I have always used one on my motorbikes to keep the battery healthy.
22. Hmm, that's a good idea, I always thought you would have to butcher a second bumper to do this job, might go back on my job list :thumbleft:
