Is it possible to take a url like this, that you might find through google: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=70519 and make it work? Thanks.

I think I paid about £240 all in, that was re-using the screen and seals (so no new parts).

I had mine done at a place called oldschool windscreens, but probably a bit far away for you: http://www.oldschoolwindscreens.co.uk/

Thanks for the info Andi!

Where are you based mate? I had this problem and I took mine to a specialist who removed the screen, made the necessary repairs and then refitted the screen.

Indicators look top mate! Did you polish them by hand? -
We can thank the European union for that atrocity. European legislation means that car manufacturers have to be below a certain emissions regulation for their combined car fleet. This means they either have to make their powerful cars more emissions friendly or they have to do what Aston have done and release a low emission car. Edit - read the bit about niche markets: http://www.acea.be/index.php/news/news_detail/faq_on_co2_legislation Here you go: More edits for accuracy.

Andi, I've asked before but don't think I got a response (or perhaps you don't know or you did and I didn't see it), is there a statistic for roughly how much it costs a month on a per user basis? I appreciate the registered user count is far less than the monthly visitors, but if you took running costs and divided it by registered users for a month, what would you need to break even? I make a monthly donation which is probably a bit stingy, I'd like to know that I'm at least covering my own costs.

Last time I spoke to classic parts they said they were working on a Corrado section for the website so I guess it makes sense that they have loads of parts available. Classic parts and vw heritage are one and the same aren't they? (It was heritage that said they were working on a Corrado section). Edit - OK so they're completely separate, my bad.

If the momo will go straight on my VR I'll take it. I know nothing about after market wheels :-) -
DEHUMIDIFIER BAGS - no more condensation :-)

Interesting, how long will they work for? Surely they can't absorb moisture forever? -
I'm hoping that will be the first show, the 'Christmas Special' just a few weeks over due.

Legality of anti hijack central locking systems - Legal or not?
OllieVR6 replied to tentonhammer's topic in General Car Chat
I've been told this by the police before as well. They told me that anything over 14 years old will get pulled for no other reason....not really sure what the difference is between a 13 year old and 15 year old car?? In my first car (F reg 205) I got pulled over 8 times in 1 year. In my second (and current car) a brand new (in 2003) Clio, I've never been pulled over! -

I'm not taking sides here but I'm pretty sure that in an accident, anti hijack systems unlock the doors, obviously you wouldn't be able to open the door if its actually broken. As you say though, the firemen will just break the window. It does sound like said policeman was just having a bad/quiet day and picked on you. -
Yeah :thumbleft: I would assume you'll put it in the boot, so you run a power lead from battery to boot. Also run a remote turn on lead from the head unit to the boot (the harness in your head unit should have a short blue cable not doing anything. It's that one). Then pull away the side carpets in the boot, on each side you splice the included RCA leads into each existing rear speaker cable. Lastly, there is a ground cable that needs to be attached, I added it to a ground point behind the carpet on the drivers side. I think it's for the central locking. When I install mine properly I'll take some pictures but it wont be for a few days as I'm tied up this weekend.
-
Just the unit itself. It's a sub and amp all packaged in a box ready to go. Even comes with all the cables you need (well almost, power cable is a bit short). If your head unit has a pre-out (a pair of RCA connectors on the back) you can plug the amp into there. If it doesn't (cheap or factory units don't normally) Alpine include some instructions so that you can splice into the existing rear speaker cables. This is how I tested it and it works very well (these cables are also included). An RCA lead isn't included however. So basically £100 is all you need.

Weekend bump. Price to high? Make me an offer?
-
I was actually surprised how weedy the power cable is that comes with it, but Alpine know more than me about these kind of things so if they deem it good enough, that's good enough for me. If possible you should solder the cables when extending them, those clips you can get from places like halfords that let you splice cables together are crap.
-
Yeah you can either just buy a new longer bit or extend the bit you've got already. Best bet it probably to buy a new longer bit and attach it just after the inline fuse. You need to make sure you keep the fuse. ---------- Post added at 12:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:44 AM ---------- You'll be able to get some cable from Halfords or Maplins, just make sure it's the same gauge.
