You won't need it in about 1 hour and 10 minutes time!
2. Small update. Last weekend I was ready to put the car back together, but broke this whilst trying to change the o-ring: So I had to order a new one as I had previously only ordered the housing and crack pipe. That completed my collection (all new parts plus some stainless bolts and washers): Assembled and ready to go: Might get some time on Saturday with any luck :)
3. The Subaru is probably a Forester. Great bit of kit!
4. Are you kidding me? I had to google it, anything made by reliant is far from it! (This is just my opinion, I'm too young to have had any personal experience)
5. Got mine, thanks Jim. When I read your letter at the from I thought "damn I want to do something to go in here" but I just have no idea what to do!!
6. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :(
7. Today I have refitted my water pump with new o ring and bolts for it and the pulley wheel, refitted the belt and tensioner and lowered the engine back into place. Then I broke one of the thermostat plastics, damn. I'll have to get a replacement now before I can do anything else.
8. FML just spent £90 on a Bosch Silver for the daily at Halfords, grrrrrrr!
9. I decided against doing any painting (alternator, tensioner etc) because it's too cold to paint and I'm rubbish at it. Need to finish the mechanical bits before I get started on 'the nice' stuff!
10. Looking good bud. I collect the last of the parts I need to start putting the front end back on tomorrow. I could put it all together in a day but I'm tempted to hold back and do some cleaning as well but I'm just so desperate to drive it!
11. How the **** did you manage to photograph that? ---------- Post added at 6:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:40 PM ---------- PS - You should move your plate off centre (kerb side) :smug:
12. I still intend to give you a call at renewal time but what the hell costs 177 a MONTH to insure? Haha!
13. I remember when we met up thinking that your Corrado smelt the same as mine!
14. I never knew you were supposed to rotate the crack pipe....kind of explains why I get coolant everywhere every time I drain the system
15. Have a look at this: https://sites.google.com/site/rabitahir/vw-mkiv-vr6-12v-cooling-system Or more specifically, this image (notice the bit missing): https://sites.google.com/site/rabitahir/_/rsrc/1260415685450/IMG_0890s.jpg?height=280 I'm in the process of replacing almost the whole cooling system and the only place I found where water could be leaking from are the thermostat housing (mine looked identical to that image above) or the radiator neck (the bit the upper hose connects to). I also couldn't find the leak, I'm 99% certain it was the housing now.
16. Sorry about the thread hijack! I'll leave this here too: http://lifehacker.com/5965442/most-popular-android-tablet-nexus-7
17. What you upgrading to Jim? I highly recommend the Nexus 7!
18. You're a bit of a drive away from me but maybe if there was something around Southampton I could make the journey, would really like to see your car! Even having standard leather I don't get a nice leather smell, that's something I miss. To me, if a car smells of leather it smells classy, I want that!
19. When you say failing...in what way? There's a 'striker' upgrade kit available on this very forum if that's the part?
20. I'm not exactly sure which parts you are talking about but the senders in the thermostat housing are still available from VW but also available from heritage. Same with the one in the rad.
21. I had visions of pictures of children standing near Corrados and crying! They can look pretty mean :vamp:
22. Wow, fantastic mate well done! Not a fan of those wheels myself but fully appreciate how expensive wheels are. Your handy work is awesome, do you do all your own welding? That's a skill I want to learn.
23. Thanks Stone. My extinguisher arrived just now, I'll rummage for a spare 10mm spanner too. Might see if there is a 'clip' based alternative terminal I can purchase instead though. Bit worried about your previous post as I'm currently replacing all the sensors to get cooling system sorted having had similar issues (speed 1 and 3 but no speed 2). ---------- Post added at 3:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 3:49 PM ---------- Something like this perhaps: http://www.totalbatteries.co.uk/i-Quick-Release-Battery-Terminal-Clamps-Pair-I7919.html
24. Poifect, thanks. I'm almost ready to start putting it back together, whoop!
