Early Spec Corrado Electric Window Switches Pair - SOLD

Hi Mat Could I take these off your hands pls? I am assuming they both work ok? thanks muchly -
ok that is a good sign - matrix is ok then :) have you re-checked the thermo fuse connections since you put the new blower motor in? could be the thermo fuse itself, the main fuse on the fuse board or possibly a break in the wiring going from heater speed dial to blower motor
-
not sure - I think you may have to drop the beam slightly to get access I believe they can be a b1tch to get out though
-
does your heater blower fan work at all? even with a non working blower motor you should still be getting warm air when the heater dial is set to warm - unless your matrix has gone & then you will only get cold air even if dial set to warm if you have no response out of the blower motor it could be a blown fuse maybe - fuse board is under the drivers side footwell shelf did the seller mention anything about hot air feed?

no problem - sorry it has taken a while to see the above ok then, yes the ryan versions are indeed 2 relay. I have never seen one but maybe this would explain the 'rather faint' passenger light output but zero drivers side output - as perhaps the current can flow through but is reduced (im guessing at the last bit lol) easy way to tell if it is the loom Kev - your ryan one should have OEM plugs so a quick disconnect & then reconnect the factory ones to reinstate the factory loom & then test the lights my bet is they will work, so, that done I would check the 2 fuses in the uprated loom first (though if either of those blew I would expect you to have no output in some form as the current would not be able to get past said fuse) & then change the 2 relays you should be able to figure out which relay does high beam & which does normal but I would recommend changing them both & then testing. that way you can have a spare working relay to keep in the glove box in case it happens again - which is what I do in case it happens at night as even just one normal beam light is insufficient I have seen quite afew posts about ryan looms failing & they are always down to the relays EDIT: I should probably mention that I don't have a ryan loom, I have one made by the users KUR2Y on here :) -

Hi Kev I would say it is an issue with a failed relay on the uprated loom do you have a 2 or 3 relay uprated loom? sounds like a 3 relay one to me as with the 2 relay version would leave you with zero low beam this is due to the 3 relay version having one relay for each side of low beam & then 1 for high beam on both sides - rather than the 2 relay only having 1 relay for both headlights low beam the relays are only a few £'s from a motor factors - easiest is to drive the car there & take a relay out for them to match I know the above because I have had it happen to me. I changed all 3 relays as I wasn't sure which was which & couldn't be bothered to swap them around a few times hope that helps -
we all know that will happen sooner or later...hopefully ;) lol

Trimsport VW Corrado Carbon Fibre Rear Number Plate Holder

you're ;) lol -
ha ha I was enticing someone to ask or offer up a suggestion it truly was a light bulb moment as the 'fix' cost me zero pounds & zero pence it is a tubular metal insert which is used in modern day plastic push fit plumbing fittings - cost me nothing as I had seen them in my dads shed (yes he used to be a plumber) add to it a few winds of electrical tape to make it fit snuggly & reduce any movement & hey presto a nice shiny door pin surround :D as I say....winner winner chicken dinner
-
cool thanks m8 honestly, I reckon you wouldn't believe what I used even if I told you lol it is my cheapest fix ever!!
-
cool ahh that might have been me clicking 'submit post' rather than 'go advanced' when I first went to attach the picture lol what do you think now you have seen?

I can imagine. I think it is the oil / grease etc getting into it that makes it deteriorate -

OK cool thanks fella I might offer the liner I have up to the bonnet & see what it looks like - though I liked the couple ive seen done on here I recall the person who did they group buy saying that it has advantages over OEM type stuff as it will not absorb any oil or grease etc -

tidy :) I have to admit I did not do the rear beam bushes myself. for jobs I don't have enough knowledge or experience for, or the tools, I give it to my family mechanic who I have used since I was 17 I think they can be a bugger though. however IIRC the bitch of the job was the brank balance valve which refused to budge & had to be cut out -
oh - it should be in the post as an attachment m8 it shows on my page?

fast & furious in the ready money round today lol I did indeed see your bonnet liner pics m8 - they looked good & I am glad the suggestion of the auto glym tar stuff worked well for you I really must remove my VR lining but have been putting it off as I brought a set of the aero industry liner stuff to replace it which means I will need to completely mask up the bonnet to fit it due to the glue spray. out of interest how much was the OEM kind of liner you brought off here? sunday sounds like it was a good distraction m8 :) -

ha ha welcome to the world of trying to find the road in between the pot holes you are dodging ;) PMSL seriously though, great news you are so happy. the feeling of reward you get from the car & chassis once you are glued to the road as you say is awesome. despite my KW's being a tad hard I love them to bits!!! FYI if you get any crashy type feeling traveling up through your seat when going over drains etc then check out your rear beam bushes. I know for certain on my VR that once I had renewed all the running gear the whole set up felt much more cushioned & yes m8, just a little busy with emma this weekend & duly posted here a few mins ago :) lol -

lots & lots of rado related tasks done this weekend over both days I am sure many regulars on here know my gf is getting her storm ready to put up for sale & as such I have been helping her over the weekend started on Saturday with a full on 6.5 hour session polishing the gf.......well, not her but her storms inlet manifold ;) lol credit to her, & thanks, as she had done a lot of the hard work getting the majority of the oxidised surface off a while ago. as such it was a day of bringing it down grade by grade & we are both happy with the results (pic attached to post) sunday was then a case of starting the finishing touches, as mechanically it is superb, consisting of the below: as ive put on my build thread I donated a door pin surround to the gf's storm & then installed my 'new' ones in the VR - I really like the way they catch the sun & I reckon there may be a few shocked people when they find out my fix lol considering door pin surrounds are extremely few & far between I could potentially see a few people using it as well next was to remove the sony ipod head unit she has and replace with a nice pioneer mp3 unit. I also removed the super thick oxygen free speaker cable for the 6*9's I installed for her & put her original unmolested parcel shelf back in next was to take the front seats out as she had already cleaned & conditioned the interior but wanted to make sure all the carpets were fully cleaned by this time I was knackered so whilst she cleaned & sparkled the engine bay with auto glym stuff I had a well deserved sit down to watch the F1 recorded earlier that day :D
