The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
g0ldf1ng3r replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
cracking pictures chugs new suspension height is great! how do you like their ride? makes me wish my bonnet wasn't like the night sky due to the f***ing bodyshop producing a bonnet full of micro blisters after they sprayed it -
I had a light bulb moment over the weekend regarding the door pin surround parts that are no longer available & neigh on impossible to find this potential genius idea was very well timed as most of this weekend just gone I have been helping the gf prepare her beautiful storm & helping her make sure it is sparkling everywhere as such one of her door pin surrounds was broken & rather unsightly. thus I offered to donate one of mine out of the VR neither of us could find one on the internet so this was our best option but would mean my VR would be missing one however a bright idea, a hunt through the shed & a bit of electrical tape later I had this.....(well these as I did both sides).... be nice to hear other peoples thoughts as I rather like it :D

Hi Dil I have one which IIRC is in perfect condition. I can check it over this evening & send a picture if you would like? it was removed when I had a BMC CDA fitted by Stealth where are you based & what are you offering for it? PM me if you prefer :)

indeed! hope this sun is shining on the weekend for the finishing touches we have in mind :D -
cool thanks I might be able to see it on sunday as it turns near stratford on avon
-
received with thanks
-
I think many of us would be favourable to that option Jim
-
cool, sounds good wendy would you mind me asking where you are having your paint done, why there & do they offer any guarantee's on their work? I think the insurers get you to complete some forms, send them lots of pictures & present evidence of cars being sold for around the value, or above, which you wish to insure for & then you come to an agreement which could be good as there have been a few seriously well priced sales recently
-
cool as a mo fo! cracking news rob thank you
-
cool that is reassuring I think the gf has asked about if they refurb the unit you send them or if they currently have an exchange option, IE they send you a refurb'd one and you send your knackered one to them I will put their rely up once received
-
bless you Jim that is an extremely kind offer, very much appreciated fortunately the valver was only missing the Kamei front spoiler & as such had the original eyebrow on it when I brought it back someone had painted it black though & not very well at all so it is currently in my workshop half rubbed down
-
FYI everyone - the gf has emailed BBA today to enquire about the rado ABS refurb, availability & options I will post on here once we have a reply :)

they are just robbing bar stewards Mic I got a quote on a £600 lupo the other week, for similar reasons as you are thinking, on a new policy (as my VR is my main policy with the NCB & the valver is on a classic policy with limited mileage & started with zero NCB) & they wanted £340 compare this with the price I paid to insure the valver on a new policy last year.....car insured for £750 and a premium of £180 ish IIRC EDIT: the company I used for the valver is a sister company of Adrian flux who insure the VR & they gave me some discount due to the high NCB on the VR policy which raised the discussion with the gf about it would be better to keep the valver than buy a cheap run around - winner winner chicken dinner lol thus my advice Mic would be buy yourself another rado, 16v flavour ;) , & insure on a classic policy

yeah I remember seeing the various threads Jim Trimsport have been good at getting rado products done but for them to remanufacture items I guess it takes a lot of time & planning plus, though I really like many of their products, they are rather on the expensive side. perhaps a vinyl overlay could be a cheaper option which would be better for some
-
tidy! that could well present itself as a great option for many of us as im sure most have faded corrado scripts
-
I noticed something I quite like in terms of look when checking air pressures on the valver this morning the tires are now odd different sizes on the front to the back (195*45*16 front & 205*50*16 rear) & it has produced a very slight whacky races / drag racer look.....
-
very interesting rob do you think they might be able to replicate the brushed effect on the rear corrado badge? IIRC there has been mention a few times on here of people getting the repro'd but think the finish was an issue
