Old car scrappage scheme - it's kicking off!
Swompy replied to Sonicriot13's topic in General Car Chat
Its a good idear but there is one big floor in it If some ones car is worth left less that £2000 they arent going to sell it they are going to take it to the nearest scrappy, which is fine but there is going to be hundreds of good cars going to waste which are perfictly fine for a few more years to come. And if every one is takeing cars worth less than £2000 to the scrappys then there is going to be no cheep cars to buy for first time buyers, and young people who just passed their test arent going to be able to afford to buy a car. :cuckoo: -
Saw a Dark blue vr6 ( i think) waiting to turn onto the A48 from the Wyevale Garden center near Thornbury at about 1, gave a thumbs up but dont think i was spoted by the driver, i think the passenger saw  . I was in a White MK3 Golf turning into Wyevale

Selling a Corrado with classic stalling/idle problems
Swompy replied to norman16v's topic in General Car Chat
I just remembered that when i would get my car serviced that would stop the engine from cutting out, but after 6 months it would start again. Just a thought -

Selling a Corrado with classic stalling/idle problems
Swompy replied to norman16v's topic in General Car Chat
Hey i had the exact same problem on my golf, idal was all over the place engine cut out nearly every time i came to a stop. I managed to stop it doing that by giving the throttle body a quick clean. All i done was spray some carb cleaner ( cost me about £1.90) straight into the throtle body inlet, Turned the engine on ( took a few seconds for it to catch but it will ) then done the same again and then sprayed more and left it for 20 mins. After that took it for a 30 min drive and didnt cut out once. The idle was high ( 1200 - 1500) when i came to a stop but it would die down to the right idle speed after a second or two, after using the car for a week the idle was back to normal and runs like a dream and hasnt cut out once. Hope this helps -
I saw a black C on road wars once, it was a video from a speed camra van and the C slamed on the breaks to try and beet the camra but the big clowd of white smoke didnt help hide that fact it was going some :D

1.4 golf.. ouch, my mate used to have one, they really are painfully slow lol. I mean, its scary how slow his got with 3 up (no offence lol)... Hmm, me thinks its time to make my self feel better... wanna race??? LOL  HAHA i know put more than 2 people in that car and it just says "nope not going to happen". But its not to bad, can go some when it wants to ( aslong as its not up a hill, if i dont have any one els in the car and there is a tail wind :D ) But to top it all off i had it MOT last week and it needed a new lambda senser, which i thought ok no problem had it replaced and the car feels even slower now :( ( the old senser was feeding more fuel in to the engine ) Cant wait till i get a C

HAHA sounds the same as me I will get my ass handed to me on a plate every time in my Golf ( its a 1.4 :( :camp: :epicfail: :brickwall: ) so If i get some Prick in a done up scooby, evo, corsa, saxo ect ect ect i just drive as slow as possible and stick as close to the center line as possible. Its great, ticks them right off :D

This forum just keeps getting better and better:D I didnt think every one on here would like decent music but iv been prooved wrong. Im a very big heavy metal :evilbat: Slipknot is one of the best to listen to when driveing along with sepultura, soulfly, chimaira anything fast heavy and will scare the crap out of any boy racers in the crapy little saxo's and there anoying techno. Dont get me wrong i do love a bit of drum and bass but some of the stuff they listen to is rubish, a fart has more musical attributes.

I agree scoobys = a pain in the ass. I work at a small cinema and its on the main high street of a small town and everytime a scooby goes up the road they are so noise and it can be hurd inside whilst the film is on :bad-words: Very true but a women who lived next door had one which was way too noisy and she was butt ugly. She is an extra on the BBC progame casualty and not a good one either. thank fully she has moved away you could hear that dam car through the walls

Unlimited budget to mod a corrado what would you do?
Swompy replied to Swompy's topic in General Car Chat
Haha there will all ways be one -
I would like to know what people would do to their Corrado if they had an unlimited budget to do what ever they wanted to it. Here is what i would do. Body and chases: Buy a vr6 and completely strip it own to the chases, then have the chases cleaned and reconditioned, along with all the panels, keeping it looking as close to how it came out of the factory as possible respray it black or yellow Engine: Replace the old engine with a brand new vr6 engine from vw, a decent gear box to go with it and all the other part need ie radiator ect ect. Also have it converted to 4wd. Have the exhaust tips coming out each side of the car just in front of the rear wheels. Possibly fit a turbo or supercharger???? Drivetraine: New and bigger breaks, all round suspension, fat wheels all round with a nice pair of rims. Also have the fuel tank extended into the place where the exhaust would of ran through. Inside: Nothing major just made looking as close to factory speck as possible, but have a decent CD player and speakers. Have the best alarm, immobiliser and tracker fitted. That’s what i would do if i could. Cant wait to see what other people would do.
