  1. Awesome, looking like its all really starting to come together  Those 17's RC's i love, they look more like 18's to me, maybe its because the big brakes, windows, bumper etc missing and not bein fully lowered ... anyway keep up the good work 8)
  2. Also check you vacuum connection/pipes to the servo, maybe worth doing before you take the servo out. Emkayvr6 is a good check but the full vacuum required may not be there to drive the brakes at full strength. . Ah didn't know that RW1, learn something new everyday :D
  3. Does sound like it could be a servo problem When u start the engine, hold u foot on the brake as u turn it over, as soon as it fires up u should feel the pedal move towards the floor How long ago were the pads/discs replaced? If they haven't bedded in well they might have glazed causing brake fade kinda feel but if ur having to stamp the pedal i'd check servo 1st
  4. Matt, just slung a set of trw pads in the front of mine (standard VR6) seem to be upto the job at the mo, dunno what was in there before but the trw seem to create more brake dust. Only got these as had to take back some wrongly supplied parts and got the pads instead of a refund as i couldn't bne arsed to go anywhere else  Would also be interested to see if anyone else has used em
  5. excellent thread, have just replaced all the front and rear brake lines on mine, as well as m/c, and pressure reg and a few other thing's. Only thing i'd add is that makes sure the union is at the end next to the flares before u bend the pipe otherwise u wont get them round the bends, oh and ABS M/C are expensive, coming in at 240 from the dealers (who only have 2 left in the country now as they ony had 3 when i ordered mine ) and about the same form elsewhere, most part factors only supply non abs ones, although i was supplied with ABS ones that turned out to be non abs, useless feckers!!!
  6. yeah sorted mate thanks, Now have another years mot  MIne was off the road for two weeks and that seemed an age, u must be goin crazy not havin it on the road, still be worth it
  7. Looking good rob, wanted to paint mine when i swapped the rear axle but didn't have time to, but probably a good thing i didn't as i ended up needing another caliper :censored: Not long till she's in the shop, lookin forward to seeing in fresh paint :)
  8. Interesting idea, wish i'd thought of this as just refurberd my rear beam and used goodridge hoses and made up new copper lines, this way would have been better i think, As for the lengths, can't help u there but there should be a bit of room for rough estimates as they're flexi not ridgid, as long as they're long enough but not too long they should be ok, could u mock up the length with a bit of string or something? Just tape it to the point on the axle where it will clip in?
  9. This really will be one of the finest rado's when its finished i think  envy the time and space u have, Quality work keep the updates comin 8)
  10. yeah should have it fixed next couple of days Lol, get on then matt, wont polish em selves  I wish things would polish themselves, seems to take for ever, still have a half polished inlet mani from my old MK3 VR that i keep meaning to get round to finishing
  11. Matt If the S2 MC isn't ABS then it wont fit a rado vr with ABS. The VR ABS MC has two unions for the brake pipes that run to the ABS pump and a bleed nipple on where as the non ABS MC has 4 brake unions, one for each pipe that runs to the calipers If the S2 MC is NON ABS then i'm guessing it will have the 4 unions Could always ditch the whole ABS system to us the S2 MC..... :norty: My local TRW distibutor sold me a NON ABS MC insisting it was the right one as they only have that one listed, so interesting that u say eurocarparts use TRW, tho pretty much the same price as the dealers. Mind u the dealer got me the NON ABS the 1st time, was the only one they listed for my car, wasn't untill i gave them the part number that they got me the right one. SUPERCHARGED i've fitted it now but still have the one i took off so will post a pic of that one up,
  12. Hi matt Well i've sorted it now, ended up gettin one form VW  Expensive aint the word!! 240 notes! They only have 2 left in the country now. Will look into the S2 one when i do the brakes but don't think it will be for a while now as have spent quite a bit on the car lately and gotta sort some money out for next season on the sidecar 1st, plus will need 17's , which'll mean i'll have to drop it as well so probably do brakes, wheels and coillies at the same time
  13. LOL, had to try, tho i need a rear urgently, O/S failed Mot, suspected it wasn't working when i swapped the rear axle and everythin but didn't have time to sort it before Mot. Also failed on loose headlight , but knew that anyway just hopin they weren't gonna spot it as was waiting for new part form dealers Good that your brembo's are ok, take it your goin for 17's again with the new rims? looking forward to see what they are
  14. Nah they'll be shagged by now mate, best thing to do is to swap me for my standard ones  :norty:
  15. Does sound like master cylinder, just had to do mine, had similar symptons. If there's no signs of leaking underneath the car then take the lower dash out and pull the carpet back to see if there's any sign of leaking around the pedal n servo
  16. Front looks good :) Awesome news, you'll soon have her back on the road 8)
  17. I Knew it moved but didn't think by that much, spose i've never seen inside a bay of a vr when been doin that much rpm
  18. Hi Matt, those figures aint to bad at all, down a little bit but nothin major  Like the vid, 1st time i've seen a vr on the rollers, notice how much the engine moves in the bay, especially when coming off the gas. Will look smart with the new rims on there  Cheers Mart
  19. Yeah mate been busy with mine at the mo, having a bit of a nightmare to be honest. Brake M/C went last monday and with MOT at end of month thought i'd do the rear beam swap at same time, Which went fine, got refurbed beam with new bushes, pressure reg, copper brakes lines, braided hoses, bearings and ABS rings plus new bolts n fasteningd on Ok. only took couple of evenigs after work ....................BUT went to pick up new M/C sat and they'd got the Non ABS one, :mad2: and don't do ABS one, Bolloxs, Only place can get the right one is Dealers, ordered monday, went to pick up today and.............Its the wrong fuckin one!!!!!!! :censored: :bad-words: Manage to order the right one and should be able to pick it up thursday, got told there's only 3 left in country  Hopefully should be sorted at end of week, Take it you got ur grill in the end then  Cheers Mart
  20. Hey Rob Hows it goin? really like this car and though it looked pretty good when i saw it last so can't wait to see it when its back on the road Take it easy bud Mart
  21. Tried Euro's website but they only have non-ABS brake M/C :( Anyone got a Part Number for the ATE Brake master cylinder on A VR6 with ABS?
  22. Ouch  Will give Euro a try then, Cheers Mart
  23. Well finally found my lost fluid....as suspected sittin in the servo where the master cylinder sits, no problem got a new master cylinder yesterday...."yep mate, def the one for your car, ABV engine code" "With ABS?" "Yep, for ABS" Is It FUCK!!!!!!! Feckin prick AAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH. :bad-words: Anyone know where i could get hold of a new master Cylinder from? and quickly, need car on road ASAP, taxi's to work are costing small fortune, tried euro, gsf, mill auto and most the factors in plymouth, None of them do the ABS MC, I'm, thinkin i'm gonna have to go VW, Anyone got a rough price its gonna cost from the stealers? cheers Mart
  24. Cheers guys Haha yep the addiction's gettin stronger  Whilst removing the rear axle seen other little bits that i want to sort out, just wish i could take it off the road for a while and get em sorted, know its gonna start buggin me..... Yeah fogs and indicator's are all cracked :( but have replacements on the way to go on :D , Will have a look at the protective sheets Cheers, Would like faster progress but money and time make it otherwise Will update soon Mart
