Lookiong sweet man, reminds me i gotta get the hideous arch gap on mine sorted out soon, looks so much better when dropped 8)
-
U've not tried a Honda Civic type-r on axle stands then have u??? :brickwall: but yeah most are piece of piss
-
Sounds similar to how mine was before i changed the cam shaft sensor, Any missfire? best thing to do is get it on vac com and see what fault readings come up, then go from there.
-
I use Quantum gold - fully synthetic.[/quote:3c8c40ss] Would fully synthetic be ok on a high milage engine though?? noticed in your sig u have a recon engine, thought semi would be better on anything over 80-90k??

blimey over a month since i last updated my thread  Have managed a couple of things but nothing major: have been busy sorted a few dents and rust patches on me bro's T4 and kinda waiting to move into my house next week and sorted out before i can really get stuck into her. But have changed the camshaft sensor and fitted a new cam cover gasket, was a nice oily mess under the intake mani and all over the head from the gasket leaking and oil being spilt when topping up so clean all that up while i was at it. Car feels much better with a new sensor, more power and tourque and much more lively to drive now :D Also fitted some new front tyres Avon ZV3's, not my ideal choice but were goin at a good price and i've had em before and rate them as being pretty good for the money. Noticed fine coating of oil in inlet manifold on cylinder 2 and 4 the odd bit of smoke sometimes on hard acceleration and on overrun, plus also reverse, thinkin its prob the valve seals any other/better ideas? Also a slight knockin noise when turning left, c'v joints possibly? had a quick look, boots look ok but will have a proper investigate once i'v moved. Was goin to put some pics up but seems to be playin up so will try tomorrow :brickwall: -
ah cool, u using a gun or cans? at work(on super yachts) we've been putting 3 coats of primer before top coat, white, grey then white, reason being so we can see if when break through a layer when sanding but never heard of it being done on cars, and was wondering if u did it for a similar reason. Anyway top work mate, looking forward to seeing it all finished :)
-
I can only asume its because some colours require certain coloured primers to make the colour the propper shade, if i understand right, depending what primer you use, ie, white/black light/dark, it affects the final shade? I once had a pearlesant colour on my old car when having a full respray, and when i brought the paint i had to get a certain primer/base coat before the top coat. Neil Yeah the red primer would have been needed as the top coat was red and like u say it effects the final colour i just wondered why spray grey before it, was wondering if i'm missing something thats all
-
you make a good point there neil. And at least i'm not the only one  it's got even worse since i started sprayin paint at work, now i see all kinds of little defects in paint that i never would have before, i'm already thinkin of pulling this one of the road for a full strip down and respray n rebuild, n i've only had it just over a month and too most people the little defects would bother them. The rocker cover gasket change took me 3-4 hours just coz i had to clean all the bits i took off and the oil from the head that i could get too, mind u if i hadn't needed the car for a couple of days i would have polished up the cam cover and manifold   As for which c too get only u can decide, I chose a Vr over the others for a number of reason's, I wanted a later model as i prefer the looks, i wanted something that would be fast enough out the box to keep me from spending a load of money on tuning it up, i wanted something thats was tidy but not neccesarily mint as long as all the elctrics worked coz mechanics and bodywork i can do but electrics get on my tits. Whatever u choose good luck in findin what u want and get some pics up when u do :)

ditto, will keep my eyes peeled

Sweet cheers dude
-
looking good man, why grey and red primer???
-
Supercharged junkie... I like the new spoiler, remember seeing a similar one for mk2's and wonder if there was one about for the c, wher did u get it from? Today i gave her a quick wash as the front end and windscreen looked like i'd massacerd half the flying insect population on my way up the M5 yesterday and had two new front tyres fitted and trackin sorted :)
-
Not done today but over the last week in between working on bro's van fitted new camshaft sensor and rocker cover gasket, no leaks now and feck it feels so much more like it should with a new sensor, pulls hard and doesn't feel flat anymore :D
-
Nice work matey :salute:
-
having problems talkin to the abs modules, keeps saying too many communication errors, any ideas? cheers mart
-
Timmy waht gun did u go for? I've recently brought a devilbiss pri pro and sri pro and quality is great
-
whilst i had the plastics off to get at and check the camshaft sensor notice the rocker cover gasket is leaking at the back and side, so another thing to add to the list of things to do

50=Corrado(Model of car) N= 1992 (the year car was built) K= Osnabruck, Germany (The plant where it was built) The next lot of numbers are the sequential production number of your car

Had mine on vag com today and it came up with the camsensor fault, my car has felt like it was holding back slighty and u bit under power at slower speeds but barely noticeable on motorway journeys, is yours still ok at slower speeds?
-
Ran Vag com and discovered i have a cam sensor fault, which could explain while it feels slighty under powered :(
-
got the same fault code come up on mine today, have thought that it wasn't pullin quite as it should do, will have a proper look 2moz. Anyone got a pic of it? have looked in my bentley manual and cant seem to find a pic/diagram of it in there at all :confused4:

A good finish yes, a mirror flat finish straight from the gun?? Not many sprayers would achieve that that if any . A top notch finish straight from the gun would still require possibly some very fine(2500/3000)grit wet sanding but definately some compounding/polishing to gain a mirror flat finish. Peeling/bubbling is most likey down to poor prep or/and poor quality paint used
