Hi, This evening I found I couldn't get access to my VR. The alarm fob was not de-activating the alarm. I have a Clifford Arrow 3 alarm. I tried the second (spare) fob but that was knackered! I removed and changed the battery with a new one from the shop and the contacts had a drop of solder put on as they were dry and loose. All of this and not working still. I put the key in the lock but it would not unlock at all. I've found the online manual for this alarm but it doesn't really offer much advice. A couple of days ago the siren chirped five quick times when I dis-armed and the manual states this is to let you know of a soon to be dead battery. Any ideas please???

Lol! Magic leather cleaner, not sure it will turn every seat into a RS4/6 item! I've been so lucky with the condition of the leather when I bought the car last month. Only a couple of tiny marks on it in total. Rear seats look like they've been sat on hardly at all. Cheers for the good comments guys.

Today my interior light has decided to flicker and come on when it feels like it :cuckoo: Any thoughts on a fix or at least what might be causing it to happen?

Well guys, I thought I would have a go at giving the interior a good clean up. The leather seemed to be in need of some conditioner to replenish the natural oils in it. The rear headrests were the worst, where they get the hot sun all day long. Last week I used Autoglym leather cleaner to get any little marks and dirt off, to be fair it was pretty good to begin with. I had no patience to buy the Gliptone Leather Care from the internet, couldn't wait for it to arrive. So I bought some Autoglym stuff. I don't have any previous leather care stuff to compare with but I'm very pleased with Autoglym. Because the evening was getting late, the camera flash was on. Looking at the pics afterwards it looked like the front seats were a million miles away in colour to the rest of the interior. This is not the case at all, in the day everything looks nice and black. Hope you like and things are progressing very slowly. Next up is to strip the front end and find the cause of a small water leak

Believe it or not, Tesco foam upholstery cleaner. Under £2 a can, amazing results. It came up like new. Just rub the lining gently with a cloth after you foam up. Rub too hard and there's a chance of bobbling the lining. Top stuff!

I have a 40mm drop on my suspension with 17" x 8" RH Cups. Not really low as some have but the only rub I get is once or twice on the rear drivers side. This is rub on the edge of the tyre wall and is very minor. The rear tyres are 215's where as the fronts have 205's, never had anything rub on the front. I'm running approx 20mm adapters. There are a few pics up of the car in the members gallery (not wheel detail).

The first couple of jobs I think will be a HID light setup and hopefully TT aero blades. Medium to long term plans maybe - Lower a bit more (is 40mm lower at the mo), I want to get hold of a 2nd centre console so I can cut it about to fit a touch screen to control stereo, sat nav, radio etc. Engine playing maybe if money allows?

Jim, It has been resprayed. The original colour was moonlight blue. The only thing I have to tell me its mystic blue is the code someone wrote on the label in the boot. If people know it to be a certain shade then great. Its blue to me! Moving on...

Isn't LC5L paint code Mystic Blue? If so, thats my colour. Doesn't really matter as it looks lush when clean and in the sunlight. You can see purple in some lights as well. Its the nearest I'm getting to a Storm for a long while :D

Hi all, After an age trying to get my camera working with the laptop, I'm now able to put up a few pics of my Rado. This is my first VR6 Rado, its a great car! A few pics of how I picked it up- Spec as when I bought it includes 17" RH Cups, Audi S3 leather front seats, a cone filter and an engine chip (10bhp). It has at some point been resprayed Mystic Blue which personally I think looks gorgeous. I have a few plans for things but pennies have put a hold on things for a while So at least I was able to have a wash and polish, that was free Having a go at cleaning the roof lining- Had to spend out on 2 new front tyres and have just discovered a small water leak on the front of the engine, that means a chance to play and strip the front of the car down That will be the weekend after next so I'll get a few pics of progress. Any thoughts or comments are very welcome plus ideas for mods (within reason!) Thanks all, Matt.

Oh forgot to ask- Where would be the best place to buy all the hoses from? Prices and quality? Cheers.

Hi, I have just discovered a slight water leak from a hose on the front of my VR engine. From looking underneath but not jacked up I'm guessing its around the crack pipe area. As I can't strip the front of the car down until its over at my brothers place when we're ready to replace the damaged pipe, I can't see which one it is yet. I'm wondering if anyone could list what water pipes are located in the front area of the engine? Part numbers would be a bonus! I'm not very mechanical minded so I'm not very good on this sort of thing. Are all the different pipes still available to buy or do you have to make them to suit? I think I would buy all the pipes from that area so I know I'm covered, have plenty of spares! Any help would be greatfully received, Matt.

Grill vents not important The heater controls is not important because I would cut that out and use late controls lower down Ashtray would go Lighter would go also Cubby hole size unimportant Switches, what might be different? The important bit for me is- is the external size and shape different? Have plans for playing but don't want to waste time on an early centre console if it doesn't fit in the hole in the dash!

Hi, Can anyone tell me, apart the difference with the heater controls, are there any differences between the early and late centre consoles? The plastic that holds the stereo and heater controls. My car is a late spec model but wondered if an early console came up for sale, would it physically fit into my dash? It doesn't matter about the heater controls because they would be moved around a bit and I would use late spec controls. Hopefully I'm not :cuckoo: Cheers all, Matt.

Hi, My VR has 17"s and a 40mm drop. The only slight rubbing ever is on the drivers rear, the rear has 215/40/17 tyres. No rub on the front with 205/40/17. When the time comes I'll buy 205's for the rear.

Hi all, Had my VR less than a week and a little kid said he much preferred my car to the neighbours Focus ST which prob cost the best part of £15k! You could say I was pleased, had lots of good comments. Had a thumbs up from a 09 Rocco driver.
