  1. I've now carried out this mod today and wow, so easy even for a novice like me. Didn't need the plumbing fittings as the pipe had enough slack in it to reach. A quick cut of the locator under the tank and i drilled the holes in a bit to use the original fixings. Taking the connector pins out took 5 mins to put into the mk4 block. All I can say is thanks very much mate. Thumbs up!
  2. :cuckoo: Noooo Si, don't turn to the dark side! Merc's. Look on the bright side, you've got a lovely new interior to enjoy! Hope things get better mate.
  3. Well guys, just ordered the parts needed for this mod. The parts man showed the prices are slightly higher than listed in this thread but he gave me 10% off because I asked for discount. So they came in a few pennies over £20. Will let you know how I get on with it.

    scratches on fogs

I've used some fine wire wool to buff my fog lights. They had loads of fine scratches and chips, they look so much better now. Its not 100% cure but did take the worst of them out and gave the glass a shine again. Very pleased with them now. Hope it helps someone.
  5. I've just noticed on Ebay that this car has been broken up for parts. The number plate matches. The listings all have the detail that this has been bought as a stolen/recovered vehicle. The guy wanted to restore it but due to finding the rear quarter panel being really bad, he decided to break it instead. A sorry end to a sad situation.
  6. Hey guys Has anyone had any success at having a go at this mod? Just had another read through of the DDI thread, sizing looks to be the killer here. I mean do we have to make a completely new housing or has anyone chopped a standard one to make them fit yet? Just got hold of an Audi light internals and it all looks so big laid out on the floor. I've got In-Pro lights and want to use the clear lens from those, also have the HID's, so thats sorted. Just want to get the housing cracked (not literally!). Help, feedback guys gratefully received
  7. Hi guys, Might be a stupid question- Does a standard lens on an In-Pro HID headlight stop the correct shape or size light beam coming out? Wondered if there was a technical reason that stopped me putting an original glass onto the In-Pro? Just fancied trying it out, make it look slightly less blingy! Many thanks Matt.
  8. Hello everyone, I've been wondering if it was worth spending out on these bits? Can anyone that has either or both noticed much in the way of a difference to the ride and handling of their Rado? What make should I look for? and does anyone have a spare one around? Any advice on this subject would be really handy. Many thanks peeps.
  9. Hi Supercharged, are you intending to get another load of the goodridge hoses from them in the near future? Really hoping so!
  10. Sorry, yes should of put its from a 2001 A3.
  11. I've seen a complete disc, caliper and carrier set up going for a good price and was wondering if there was anything that would stop this lot fitting my 94 VR6?
  12. Did you get MK5 discs? Do they fit? Hi, I found out the wheels stud placements are 5x112 on a mk5 gti, this will not work on a Corrado. Go for the mk4 Golf ones. Not got any yet.
  13. Has been done with other double din head units from a mk4 Golf for example. Normally the heater controls would get moved to the ashtray/ lighter position to give you the double height. The ashtray would be junked and the lighter fitted into the cubby hole. Not too sure on how much clearance there is behind the unit, whether mods need to be carried out to allow the unit to slide back far enough. This kind of headunit is something I have been looking into doing but just a severe lack of funds has been holding the start back. Good luck if you get into carring it out, plenty of pics to show the build please :D
  14. Thanks for the offer, not been looking yet but I may well take you up on that, cheers buddy.
  15. Many thanks Timbo, I pulled the dash switch apart and it looks like the bulb filament has gone. Going to borrow a mates switch and see what happens. Maybe bright light or not! Fingers crossed.
  16. On a different forum, someone is selling discs, calipers and pads from a mk5 Golf GTi in 312mm size. I've had a quick read through the list of parts needed to do this conversion but it doesn't mention using anything from the mk5. I'm wondering whether it would be possible to use these or is there a problem which prevents them from fitting? Any guidance would be greatfully appreciated. Matt.
  17. Cool, thanks for the info. Lets hope it is just a bulb. Anything more and I might get a bit stumped!
  18. As above really, the ABS light doesn't work so has failed the MOT. Is there some sort of checklist of things to tick off the list until its fixed? Sorry I'm not very mechanically minded so please excuse any dumb questions! (not very good owning a Rado!) Help please! A re-test needs to be done soon.
  19. Ha ha, the van used is my ex- AA T4 I have for work. Good job as well, it was jam packed with bits and bobs!
  20. Hi Danny, The guy told me all about the speakers being Dual Mags, didn't really mean much to me, good ones then? Thanks for the comments on the car, really pleased with it. Basically I got a bit carried away buying spares. Initially wanted just what I needed but kept going and he gave me the rest.
  21. Hi there folks, Been shopping tonight Didn't realise quite how much I picked up until I started unloading everything this evening. Some things I need for spares but there will be a surplus of bits and bobs. Feel free to shout if you recognise a part that you need but don't be offended if I don't want to sell it! Once I go through it all, I'll do a detailed for sale thread. Here goes- And some plastic arch liners and a rear bumper as well not in a photo. What a long evening and about a 110ish mile round trip. Bed now, knackered!
  22. Hi B41LEY, Even to a novice like me, it was a very easy job. First there are two 17mm bolts either side of the car underneath that hold the bumper legs on. You might need a big bar to undo these as they will be tight. Release the plastics that are under the car that attach to the bumper and inner arches if they are there. Pop off the indicators and release the wires from those and maybe the fogs (trying to remember!). At the bottom of the drivers side on the bumper you might have an air temp sensor, wiggle that free from the bumper. Back down under the car, you will see a long strip of metal running across the car, undo this and pop it off. Now you are ready to pull the bumper forward and off. Its a two handed operation. The slam panel will have twelve bolts holding it, two either side at the top, two either side under the headlight, one either side into the wing and two in the middle at the bottom. There maybe little bits of trim that need removing but that should get you started. Do the same as me and don't worry about removing the bonnet release catch, just move the slam panel over to one side. Hope you get on good and if I've forgotten anything then I'm sure the missing info will be filled by someone.
  23. Yesterday I went over to my brothers place to investigate the slight water leak from the front of the engine block. As I'm a complete novice at mechanics of cars, I've never attempted any servicing or stripping a car before. Now I've got a Corrado, I was determined to learn and get more confident at this kind of stuff. My brother is a qualified mechanic, so I can't go too far wrong with his help So, starting to strip the front end down, As we only needed to get access to view the engine, it wasn't necessary to disconnect the bonnet release cable. I've heard these are a pain to refix. Next up was to carefully lift the rad over to one side, again didn't want to disconnect anything, After an age of searching for any leak at all, only a tiny drip was visible between the crack pipe and thermostat housing. No damage was visible from the plastics, so we made the guess that it could be the O-ring sealing the two. Thats pretty much all up to date at the moment, the alarm and dead battery was sorted out as well. Oh yeah, changed the spark plugs and the old boys were shagged! A couple of ends had disintegrated, once changed the idle problem was gone completely. Had been stalling when coming to a junction or standstill. Drives smoother and pulls very nicely Cheers for now.
  24. Hi guys, i've had this very same problem until today. My fix involved changing all 6 spark plugs and that's all. Problem has gone completely on mine. Not saying this will fix yours as could be something different. Just thought I would share that as it might help. Old plugs were totally knackered. Car was stalling everytime I stopped. All good now.
