Anyone going to GTI International?
tbvr6 replied to Portent's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Felt a little unloved at Inters today. Was it something I said? Here is the CCGB stand and yes that is me all alone: By the way, did not see the accident, but saw the air ambulance arrive as I was leaving. Hope all are ok. -

I am definitely there Sunday, got my club stand hanger today. -
Sorry, silly me, realised it has ended!!

What about this eBay item: 320921671687 Blaupunkt Montreal CR40, says it was out of a G60 and looks right age.

Another one in Egham. Mine was parked up at work in Egham while I was at the pub at that time! Seen a couple of nice ones around those parts.

That is interesting, I will ask my friendly local dealer. Thanks for heads up.

As some of those links say that you can get them from VW Classic Parts, I would give VW Heritage a ring and see if they can get it. As they are the importer for VW Classic Parts, they might have cheaper delivery. I have had parts like this from them. I am probably going to have to start looking for some of those clips myself as want to do the foliage cover seal soon.

Are eBay item 160822370110 your straps?

Had mine scanned and came back with a result "Improbable Engine Speed sensor signal", but still have not got to the bottom of why. Although my symptoms are different to yours, may be a similar cause. For comparison, my symptoms are that if the gearbox shifts gear in a tight bend, it gets stuck on high revs and no speed. I have to switch ignition off/on to reset to normal operation.

Having some fun and games with my auto box too, but not as you describe. It is my understanding that the auto gearbox has its own ECU. Some people have suggested changing fluid and resetting auto ECU to basic settings can help. The ECU is designed to learn from your driving style and other conditions, but this process can go wrong, hence resetting back to basic. Please note that is not my own knowledge, but what I have picked up from various forums, so might be hokum! I am told by my mechanic that a common problem is the multi-connection sensor/switch which you will see at the back of the auto box. Try removing the electrical multi-plug and cleaning it. Bit of a pain to get the connector out as it will be very stiff. It has clips top and bottom of plug, but can still be very stiff. Had to help mine out a tad with a flat blade. However, I replaced my one of those and it did not help fix my problems, but might be worth a try on yours. Also check the speed sensor connections are ok. If the gearbox is getting bad speed information, that can effect shifting.

Nice red Corrado passed me northbound on M3 near J3 this afternoon while I was broken down on hard shoulder!!

I am booked on the CCGB stand. The booking did not have a day though, so not sure which day is going to attract most members. At the moment I can make either day. Tony -
I bought 25 on eBay for £3.95 and they were fine. This is the current item number 300697298620. There may well be cheaper options, but happy with these ones. Makes a huge difference fittings new ones.

Lovely looking Corrado on Netherhouse Moor, Fleet / Church Crookham. Also a Golf owner by the looks of it. Would like to make contact if you are a forum member...

Sprung a coolant leak today, but will still be there, but with a spare bottle of coolant in the boot! Hope to get on the banking, so that the coolant lying around on top of the gearbox will run off :-) Glad you can make it now Fay. Tony -
anyone used to own my old car ?? maybe a good sticky?
tbvr6 replied to sexybourbon's topic in General Car Chat
Not that strange, mine is M52 NGM, a Blackberry VR6. -
Had exactly the same problem. Had a grope about and a wire came out of its terminal crimp in my uprated loom. In fact two fell out! Re-crimped those and all working fine now.

MOT passed first time with only 1 advisory for small oil leak. Result! Has never got through first time before. Many thanks to The Phirm for pre-MOT checkup. All set for Brooklands on Sunday.

I have a set of the veedubmachine ones and they are fine. To be fair to that seller, he states they are not genuine Corrado ones and that they will be a slightly tighter fit. So he is being honest and you are not being forced to buy. They were a good price and they are good quality. Of course, I would not say no to a genuine pair!

Have one on its way, so no longer needed. Thanks...
