  1. The boyfriend of a colleague of mine has one for sale (so she tells me anyway ;)) Shameless plug: lots of pictures of Ghias in my London Volksfest 2005 gallery :)
  2. Something of a sheep in wolf's clothing. 1192 cc / 30 HP 1192 cc / 34HP 1285 cc / 40 HP 1493 cc / 44 HP 1584 cc / 50 HP http://www.type-14.com/technical.htm They are absolutely gorgeous though. If I had off-street parking I'd be very tempted - then again my gf wants to get one for herself :)
  3. Hmm. My old 1990 GTII didn't - I had to get one.
  4. The problem you have now is that any, er, vigilante action you take in retaliation has been openly discussed on a publicly viewable forum. Not going through official channels could land you in serious doo-doo yourself. Have you attempted to clean the car since it happened? If not, dont. One of the guys on no-rice had the cops round dusting for fingerprints in short order after his car was trashed by some chavs in Havant.
  5. According to ABC news last night, prices in some States of the US had risen from $2.70 to nearly $3.50 per gallon overnight! BP just outside Brighton on Monday [not my pic BTW, but a fellow Rocco owner]
  6. A similar thing killed my brother's Mk 2 Golf a few years back. Stopped to turn right into a petrol station and some goon on his mobile just ran straight into the back of him.
  7. I did actually manage a snap of her at the NR Brighton Run too, but she cunningly blinked her eyes at the precise moment the shutter went click, so it went in the 'discard' pile :)
  8. There's times I wish the people would be a bit more afraid of getting nicked. I was nearly broadsided by a Sharan driving clear through a Stop line on a corner near my house (tricky sightlines as you're pulling out) and the driver had obviously been paying more attention to the conversation he was having on his mobile than he was to the road junction. :x It was only some sharp braking by me that prevented an accident.
  9. Some Type 53 fun on Sunday. The 'Rocco Mafia' finally got of our arses after months of vague talk and organised a loosely-themed meet in Ashford, Kent, bagging a haul of 17 Sciroccos, plus one Mk 3 that snuck in while no-one was looking :) http://www.cybertects.co.uk/picturepost ... occomafia/ The 'family photo'... And a few tasters of the rest Subtle camouflage is probably how it got past the goons on the gate... :D
  10. [ Cough ] :D Flames guy I've never seen before. [shrug]
  11. Smaller preview images... I can only do so many :) As for the flames... nicely done, but umm, yeah. :?
  12. Spent the Bank Holiday doing the annual No-Rice Guildford-Brighton run, with a deliciously leisurely afternoon at Stanmer Park just outside Brighton taking far too many photos :) Quite a decent turn-out of all three generations of Scirocco too :D Click! for pics Here's a few to get you in the mood... I also discovered that my camera goes 'round the clock' with its numbering after you've taken 10,000 pictures () so the Citroen Traction Avant at the end was actually the first picture I took while fuelling up at the Shell opposite Ladymead in Guildford :D
  13. Currently #2 in the Lycos viral chart :) http://viral.lycos.co.uk/
  14. Hmm... let's see who owns the domain this site is hosted on. -------------- % whois notlooking.co.uk Domain Name: notlooking.co.uk Registrant: Digital Oxygen Ltd. Registrant's Address: Suite 114 Business Design Centre Angel London N1 0QH GB -------------- who are a Viral marketing firm (reckon their name is a thinly veiled Thatcher/IRA reference?) http://www.digitaloxygen.com/ Some of their other tricks: http://www.lies.com/wp/2004/10/24/welco ... marketing/
  15. Dumb (and slightly weird) suggestion: check your oil level. I'm not sure how applicable it will be to a 16v, but it certainly seemed to stop the flashing temp/water light on my 8v DX engine when I found it was at the low end of low... [worth doing regularly anyway]
  16. Well, I have an idea what you were really up to... :)
  17. As seen at the London Volksfest
  18. Ah, but you always quickly wax your car after washing it, don't you? :D
  19. Did a 2 minute experiment with a once-over of the Zymol Cleaner Wax on some rather knackered Tornado Red paint on Sunday. The lighting wasn't ideal for a proper compare and contrast, but it'll give you an idea. I'd expect similar results from a Clay Bar.
  20. This might help see what machine polishing does: http://www.no-rice.com/forum/index.php?p=vt&tid=5060 My first stop is always Zymol Cleaner Wax (blue bottle about £10 from most branches of Halfords and it smells deeeeelicious) as it's a lot easier to work with than a clay bar and can produce some quite dramatic results depending on how poorly your paint has been treated in the past. Clay bars (I have the Meguars kit) seems to be better at pulling crap out of the paint, but you might as well do the 'heavy lifting' with something easier to use.
