  1. I'm afraid that's how to become a Peeler-magnet http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/4431416.stm

I declared my chrome door pins just to wind them up. Think of it as 'work to rule' :)
  3. ... and Siemens, EDS or Crapita will say they can even if you can't :)
  4. Doesn't seem like the Association of Chief Police Officers are aware of this limitation http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/11/15 ... _database/ And they're planning to keep records of your movements for two years...
  5. ... and help the DVLA provide your details to Tesco so they can fine you for parking too long while shopping. :? http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/61588 ... o_row.html
  6. I did one from one of my pics at the Edition 38 show (1280 x 960) I'm sure I could knock up a couple more if anyone wants them... :)
  7. £600-700 sounds like a price for FK Königsports, not Highsports The FK Range, in order of increasing price http://www.fk-automotive.com/en/ AK - 'budget' coilovers Highsport - height adjustable + fixed damping Königsport - height adjustable + adjustable damping (Koni shocks) Silverline - Stainless steel, height adjustable + fixed damping Silverline X - Stainless steel, height adjustable + adjustable damping (Koni shocks) Be aware that even with a galvanised finish, you'll likely find height adjustment difficult after a year or so of use with any of the non-stainless kits due to corrosion.
  8. Hmm. In August the owners of the bus in question were fined for the 'offence of using a motor vehicle with defective brakes' http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/linc ... 132332.stm
  9. I have been since I heard the story on the radio. Did any of the reports mention whether the bus was a Dennis Dart? There have been a number of similar incidents with them over the last ten years or so where the driver got blamed for poor driving by putting his foot on the wrong pedal. e.g. this very similar story from 2000 - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/672138.stm
  10. I saw a whole bunch of Corrados at Fleet Services on the M3 last night - loads of 'em just sitting in the car park
  11. I've been on hols for a week and just caught this. A few other details and clarifications: GT2 90 HP carb , GTX - 112 HP inj (as Tempest has already implied) GTX has a smaller spline '4-button' steering wheel, GT2 has a larger spline wheel similar to that found on the Golf G60. GTX and Scala Injection have a close-ratio box, the GT2 has a 4+E. GTX has MFA (as does the Scala Inj - injection engine) and a voltmeter (which Scalas and GTIIs don't) :) Different paint options for each model: http://www.cybertects.co.uk/scirocco/pa ... index.html Other useful Link o' the day - Dr Dub's site http://website.lineone.net/~dr.dub/ Having owned a GTII and an injection Scala in my time, I'll add my 2p to favouring the injection models over the carbed ones. Both entirely grin-worthy, but the DX has definitely got the edge :D
  12. Oh, we can give hand signals with the best of them. :fist: :-P :D
  13. Speaking from the other side, the cookie crumbles both ways... :?
  14. 8) To answer your question: 23343 Mulholland Dr, Woodland Hills, CA and 33102 Niguel Road, Dana Point, CA, apparently. ;) Although if it's the Mk 3 Golf in the second picture that's piqued your interest (there's some big, dumb, yellow thing in the way I'm afraid) may I suggest Fleet Services on the M3 Motorway, 2nd Wednesday of every month. :D
  15. No! I think I need to see pictures :)
  16. I'll have to remember to check the 'Preserve all metadata' box in Photoshop's Web Photo Gallery in future... not sure if the tags are available to add it to the HTML template code (bears investigation ;))
  17. Cheerz. :) Yes. PS CS2 Camera: Canon 300D + kit 18-55 lens and 75-300 IS.
  18. It's become increasingly apparent to me that I needed to revisit some of my photos from old No-Rice meets. They were beginning to look quite tired and flat compared with many of the pictures I'm taking today. I've learned a hell of a lot about processing pictures in the last two years, particularly under sodium lamps at night. The software I'm using has come on in leaps and bounds. Getting the photos up on line as soon as possible for everyone else to see means I perhaps can't take the time I'd really like to get everything just so. Shooting with RAW means I can go back and do a fresh 'print' from the digital negative, so I've started with the March 2004 meet at Guildford (there were a lot of Corrados there that month ;)) and I'll probably work my way through other meets as I get the time. I'm much happier with the result. There are some photos that I'd left out for some reason that I now feel I can put online for the first time. :) Here they are: http://www.cybertects.co.uk/picturepost/nr/20040310_nr/ To show you the difference it makes with some pictures, here's the old version and here's the new A few other favs from the new set [ If you do want to go look at the old versions they're still around at http://www.cybertects.co.uk/picturepost ... 10_nr_old/ ]
  19. :? Looks like the Clio is the same car pictured in the BBC report.
  20. Hmm. Never been a fan of recent-ish Skylines. Must admit I'm not entirely convinced by the front end either. However, you can certainly spot a family resemblance to the Datsun 240/280z, which is one of my favourite looking Japanese cars ever.
  21. Interesting reading. http://www.safespeed.org.uk/
  22. Four wheels good, two wheels baaaaad! :-P
