Fitting the new ones, and now know which side they go on, but which way on do they fit ? There is a i machined line round one side does this go to the gearbox side or wheel side??????

Excuse my ignorance but just bought 2 new inner CV joints and they are right and left, which is the o/s and which is n/s ?

Yes the inner cv joint clip its difficult to remove and harder to replace !

Can anyone give any advice on removing/replacing the inner cv joint 'c'-clip its a right awkward thing to do !!!! Any tools available ????

I bought the same replacement pump from GSF and they also supplied me with main steeler part no for the different plug, which cost few quid!

Doing the same conversion on mine, does anyone know the copper washer size used to seal the banjo hose ends to caliper, and should there be one either side of the hose?

DO YOU HAVE A SCANNER, THE COM'S PORT IS UNDER THE GEAR SURROUND PULL IT UP FROM THE FRONT, TO GET ANYWHERE YOU REALLY NEED TO SCAN THE ecu FOR FAULTS, COULD BE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR? THE SCANNERS ARE AVAILABLE ON EBAY FOR ABOUT £20 ISH ?

i have had this similar problem on my corrado, and another car i don't want to name! firstly the corrado issue was due to the ball joints worn this also caused the feel of my wheels being out of balance, the other car was the bearings i would change them as a first, small play can not always be detected by hand wobbling the wheels but the milaege and age would suggest them plus when a cv joint goes you get a clunk & play on take up of drive and the usual knocking on cornering --- change the bearings and ball joints first! - hopefully you will cure.

Had the car up on stands yesterday, and the tool i made requires modification to work around the pipes! checked the inner joints and appeared to be ok, will hopefully get tool sorted today and try again.

ok, can these be done with the rack in situ ? i see they screw out.

yes i have replaced ball joints, track rod ends, drop links, and anti roll bar bushes i have checked the column and seems ok as best i can tell, i am going to have a go at adjusting tommorrow fingers crossed ! feels so nice now, just that anoying play.

sorry i have the vr6, will this preload adjustment help the problem, i have made a tool, is it difficult to turn the adjustment nut ?

I have got play in the rack! according to the maintenance manual there is an adjustment procedure, when stationary and engine off you turn the wheel left to right and there is a knocking noise (play) the adjustment procedure seems to say that it will take up this play ? does anyone know if it works???????

had this same problem engine would fire then die pretty much instantly, it was diagnosed as the crankshaft sensor changed it quite easy job and all was fine !
