Loose cable at front of centre console, advise required
eugopnosaj replied to gollfy1's topic in Interior
Pretty sure those connectors, with the black and yellow cable, are for ignition-on lighting, and if its in the centre console then I'd go with it would be for the gauges if you were to have them installed. It's fine to leave it disconnected. -
I'd take one, I think the market is still there.

Milton Keynes owners club?
eugopnosaj replied to eugopnosaj's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Northampton is a bit far to drive for a regular car meet, I was hoping whoever put it through my letter box might have been on here, or at least maybe someone else had been given a letter was on here. Seems a bit odd to me, to want to start a meet but not even be on this website ??? -
So I popped out yesterday and when I got home someone had posted a hand written note through my letter box on a yellow piece of paper saying that there was to be a Milton Keynes Corrado Owners club meeting, with the first (ever) one on March 5th (Sunday) at the Caldecotte Arms between 13:00 - 16:00. Now unfortunately I am not about on Sunday so I won't be able to attend, nor do I know who will be going or if indeed there are a lot of Corrado's local to the area, I have seen a few but didn't think there were that many. Was it anyone on here? Its quite hard to miss my house (well, my friends) as it has my Corrado, a beetle (under a cover) and a mini in a tent outside the front  Just want to either say hi! or that I won't be able to attend but should be able to next time! I don't want them thinking I'm ignoring them...

It's 100% OBD1 so probably not of any use mate! Sorry.
-
I might have one, at least I've got a 2.9 ECU OBD1 from when I upgraded mine to OBD2, if I get time I'll have a look at the serial number later.
-
I'm pretty sure that there is a row of single connectors that have a few spare sockets. Shown here by the arrow on the RHS (see attached) photo courtesy of Philly-R6 on a different thread, although you'd need to get the correct connector.

I modified my mounting bracket, I'll take a photo when I get home later.

I won't spend a lot on a fence, as like you I expect the council would be posting a letter asking me to remove it etc as soon as they went to mow the grass, assuming it is them who does it. I can only try and if it fails go down the route of purchasing it. If after a while it looks like they won't contest it then I can upgrade it to a more robust one etc but the first few months will indicate whether it will be questioned. It would have been better if it were an area of land not seen from the highway as it would be easier to conceal. On another note my solicitors have already raised an inquiry to the seller's solicitors as to who has 'adopted' the grass as they are unable to get this information. I have tried myself on the LR website but I am unable to select that area to see who it belongs to etc. "8 Our local search has revealed that the adoption status of the grass areas to the side of the property could not be ascertained. Please advise who owns the grass land." So at least once that information has been returned I will have a bit more knowledge regarding it. The driveway title is retained by the house already as 'adjoining land', I already have the title plan for this from the LR but waiting on the official deeds to be issued.

Yeah I know, its been suggested not to approach them first, as if they ignore my request, or irrationally refuse to consider selling it, it makes it harder to demonstrate adverse possession in the future. Especially if they object to me using the land. So I think that is my only route for now, at least to begin with. I will probably just fence the bit around the LHS. Also for anyone thinking its 'stealing', the law allows you to occupy land and acquire ownership in some circumstances. Its just testing the limits I guess. I just want to make the area outside the house nicer and more accessible for parking and access.
-
Hey all, does anyone here have any knowledge about adverse possession? I'm in the middle of purchasing a house, should get the keys in the next few weeks fingers crossed but we all know how these things go! Anyway there is some land to the left and right hand side of the driveway, the LHS borders the drive and my front garden, to 2 sides, and then 2 paths. So it has been suggested to fence this off and utilise it, extending my front garden, or as i originally wanted to do, extend the driveway space - I want to put up a half height wall and gate the driveway. The LHS seems easy enough, although there is a tree which I won't be able to easily chop down - I believe anything over 1ft dia needs PP to remove? The RHS is a bit more of a challenge. The boundary wall of my rear garden is a brick built wall, and the grass area I'd be looking to claim is in front of this, there is also a man hole cover so I couldn't go further than this. It then extends to an area where the neighbour has been using it as a driveway, albeit with block paving as tramlines under the wheels - it has a dropped kerb. There is a tree near to his 'drive' where I could fence upto, thus not reducing the space he has already been able to use. The concern is that since I'd need to fence this off and 'use it' the only way to do so would be to make it a part of the rear garden, and to do so would be to use a full height fence and knock down part of the brick wall. I don't want to knock down the wall and find out that the space is contested, either by the council or the neighbour. At the same time I believe standard full height fences (which are out the front and visible) need PP? Any ideas? I will post this on a more 'land' related forum but that'd mean creating a new account and was wondering whether any of you nice chaps had any idea  Any advice welcome, thanks. LHS and overall: Land to the RHS:

From what I can tell they 'could' have removed the rub strip but it looks like it pulled away at the paint leaving it uneven to begin with, I don't think they cleaned the adhesive properly, or let some apprentice do the prep work, it being an insurance repair job they didn't care about it. The insurance company dealt with selecting the garage, to be honest I wasn't 100% happy with the work they'd done but I didn't have time to give the car back to them and sort out getting a hire car etc. I don't know what paint they used.
-
I'd have liked to think because it is also a VW approved garage they would have a good warranty on the paint
-
Ok thanks guys, I will take it up there and speak to them, if not I'll go to trading standards as you suggested.
-
So as you can see from the photos the paint is chipping away and the original paint is still find underneath! What should I do?
-
I wouldn't actually shout at anyone  more just a figure of speech. The wing hasn't rusted, the flakes of paint that have come off show the original paint underneath!!!! Water/air/dirt has then got in and cause it to peel away from the original paint - clearly not prepped properly The guarantee was only for the door as it was second hand, the wing is the one that was on the car and undamaged, they just blended the paint. It'll be clearer once I upload some pictures.
-
I will have to go back through the paper work and see what I've got, pretty sure I kept it all. They're supposedly VW approved and have won awards/competitions etc so I'd like to have thought they were good at what they do! The paint match wasn't great either.

Good morning all! So in 2012 my car was hit in the side in the company car park. It was repaired (after a 2nd hand door sourced because the insurance wanted to write the car off) by Frosts Accident Repairs Body shop in Milton Keynes, who are a Volkswagen approved repair shop. Due to the fact the door was 2nd hand, and sourced by myself, they said they wouldn't guarantee the paintwork on the door for rust, as they couldn't guarantee the soundness of the door...BS I say as they should have still prepped it as if it was a standard door etc but hey, it was the only way to get the car back on the road. As usual they blended in the wing and rear quarter however when they pulled off the rubber trim they didn't do a very good job at either, cleaning the residue, or preparing the wing, as 4 years on the area around the trim on the wing has flaked away and bubbled up. My question is do I have some kind of come back against the garage to rectify the paintwork on the wing? I will post some images later. Just need a bit of advice before I go shouting my mouth off. Thanks.

Breaking - '96 Blackbery VR6 Auto - *UPDATE 2* (first page)
eugopnosaj replied to StueyB's topic in Cars for Breaking
Hey mate, interested in the wings, what do you mean by smoothed, they're not the correct colour but my drivers one is knackered and I'll put them in storage till i can paint them? Only in MK so around the corner, there's a few other random interior bits like clips that I might also be interested in...could possibly shoot over one evening and have a look -
I normally end up using vice/mole grips, or using a hack saw and cutting the head off  Always replace with another one, put some grease in the end and it should hopefully keep the dirt and water at bay. If you have been able to get one undone I sometimes tap the caliper so it moves on the remaining bolt, usually loosens it enough.
-
I thought it was just 2 connections into the fuse box? A blue/white single cable and a black single cable? Both with single connectors, from there it should just plug into the similar connector blocks on the fuse board? The relay/loom then earths behind the drivers rear door card. The blue being for illumination and the black being power? At least that is what I remember from mine.
-
Well it seems to have resolved itself, so crisis averted
-
Oh sorry, it reckoned my average speed was 11 mph
-
Ok guys so I've fitted the OBD2 conversion that I bought from Richard (P3rks) on here, was easy enough, had a couple of issues but resolved them in the end. Had quite a few errors codes to clear and now I'm only left with a grounding error for the lambda sensor - I couldn't get the original one out so I swapped the plugs, just need to check the connections. Anyway after taking her for a drive I've noticed that the average speed is waaaay off. I did a couple of miles along dual carriage ways so 70+ and then the 30mph road back to the house so it should be higher than this no? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

Burton power no longer seem to sell the general CAB, and on Revotec I can only find the Comex ones. Unfortunately doing a Google search for 'CAB fan' just brings up AV/IT cabinet fans
