  1. For my pearl green (LC6V) i use a white primer...the paint comes up a little darker than the original but i think that is down to it having faded over the years, its not really that noticable unless you look really closely, but i have only sprayed minor things like the handles, rear number plate surround and the grill. The paint you use might also be a slightly different shade...
  2. Hey wow that looks really good, how long did it take you in the end?
  3. That big block looks to me to be a transformer...no idea why it would be needed for a stereo...does it not run on 12v? And also it doesnt make sense as to why the constant and ignition have been connected because that would automatically mean that the ignition would be always live.... Fit your new connector block, it should work fine, it should come with bullet connectors for the 12v constant/ignition and you'll probably need to switch these over as the corrado ones are backwards.. Let me know if this works?
  4. well im on a bit of a budget...3 of my wheels are distorted not done by me and i have no idea how the previous owner did it! Anyway its going to cost me around £200 to get the wheels repaired (plus 2 new tyres) and thats without repairing the marks on the front. As far as im aware they're nothing special and i dont know the brand. Anyway ive been watching some on ebay to see if it would be cheaper to get ones that arent buckled/distorted and refurb them myself or pay to get mine repaired and refurb those instead Have found a set of BK racing alloys near me that are £100 no bids yet, they're black but could do with tidying up as well as some other ones
  5. How easy is it to refurb wheels or paint them, i am looking at a set on ebay which will probably either need completely stripping or painting as one of the alloys has already been painted a different colour to the rest...
  6. Damnit lol i guess ill see if anyone has got any wheels for sale then go from there i suppose...
  7. Arrived yesterday, look brilliant will put them on at the weekend, thanks again!
  8. Bump! Anyone have any suggestions?
  9. Ok guys need a bit of advice....basically when my valver went in for her mot in december she failed on a distorted wheel and had advisories on the other 3 that they were slightly damaged (done by previous owner, not myself) and that 2 would also need new tyres, i found a place near me (Pristine outside Woburn) that could repair distorted wheels and so i got the worst one repaired for around £40 so at least i could get her an MOT. Apart from the distortion the alloys are in fairly good nick with minor scuffs and i think only one has been curbed etc... My problem is now do i pay £120ish for the other 3 to get repaired and balanced, around £50-60 (minimum for 'value' tyres) for some new low profile tyres or do i buy some new ones... Only thing is, will i get a newish set of 17" alloys with 4 good tyres for £200ish... What do you think?
  10. Cleaned the VW front badge and fitted my colour coded grill....shame about the stone chips on the bonnet and the broken fog light! RIMG0032.JPG[/attachment:1bkdkysu] Shiney though :D
  11. haynes manuals dont exist for the corrados unfortunately....you have to either buy a bentley manual (expensive!) or just look on here for info :)
  12. ok well according to my wiring diagram (for both early and late) there should only be 6 cables going into the mirror switch and they are the same for both early and late: 1 Brown 2 Black 3 Blue/Red 4 Blue 5 Black/Yellow 6 White The thing is that the cable already in the switch isn't supposed to be there AT ALL lol the previous owner clearly just found one that he thought 'fitted' Here is the wiring diagram for the late spec but its the same for early just so you can look yourself: corrado94 p33.jpg[/attachment:emq0d16a] So in your case (if his socket fits ok and the terminals connect properly) i would assume you could splice it like this: SWITCH------------------------>DOOR LOOM Brown/Black----------------->Brown White/Green---------------->Black Yellow/Brown--------------->Blue Blue/Black-------------------->Red/Blue Black/Yellow----------------->Black/Yellow Black/Grey-------------------->White And don't worry about the extra colours (sockets 7 + 8 Hope that helps :)
  13. Fitted a home made automatic light sensor :D just need to tweak it at night
  14. If my grey cards dont sell i might sacrifice them and see if it works...
  15. haha i did wonder how it holds the back up if it sits on the side  i'll have a play at the weekend and get it fitted, thanks for the picture otherwise i would have still been confused!
  16. Infact looking at the picture again its kinda REALLY messed up. The position of the switch is that of a late interior, the earlys had the switchs higher up on the door card whereas the lates have them in the storage/speaker plastic. It appears to be that they have replaced some of the parts but mixed the late and early together...odd [strike:3re1odyt]Out of curiosity have you got a picture of the mirror switch i think ive got an idea....[/strike:3re1odyt] Ok i've figured out what has happened here, i was correct about your car being early spec, what the previous owner has done is buy a late leather interior but hasnt managed to get all the switches. Your mirror switch is late as it is in the grab handle of the door, the earlys were much higher up. He hasnt managed to replace any of the looms which is why the switch isnt connected. the looms are still that of the early hence why he has used an early window switch and butchered the socket to make it fit. You've got 3 choices: -Splice new loom for window switch and mirror switch, however you'd need to get the connectors for the loom and a late spec window switch (or you could just do the mirror) -Replace the doorcards for early leather door cards, that way the connectors and switches are the same, however you'd need to get an early spec mirror switch -buy new looms and fit them, Ok i have found the wiring diagrams for both early and late however for some reason there appears to be WAY to many cables coming from the socket in the switch...can you confirm to me the colours coming from the switch, thanks. Jay
  17. AFAIK its not standard but J reg (or 92) was the crossover year like mine although i did think that all G60's were early spec...might be wrong, if the connectors are different then no, you cant just connect them lol but as i said above you can splice it easily enough
  18. Im going to guess, that from the pictures its a late car, with an early fitted interior (the design of the switches) and the guy who fitted it cut it as you said but couldnt work out the wiring loom as they look to be different colours, i can source you a wiring diagram if you want ive got them all from when i re did all of mine. That is if you dont mind doing a bit of soldering, or i think ive got the original loom for the mirrors as i changed from early to late...
  19. cool thanks :) one more bit i havent got to throw out
  20. Perfect! I did wonder why that didnt quite stay in place, got a pic so i know exactly where it goes? Glad i haven't thrown it out!
  21. What? lol that's kinda confused me. Its a bit of plastic, no wiring involved....
  22. Randomly browing the 'bay and found this, i've got one of these and i removed it when i did my interior swap over but i've no idea what it does.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vw-corrado-breaking-shelf-stowage-compartment-535858715_W0QQitemZ280460179509QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item414cbab835 The seller claims it to be a 'shelf stowage compartment' but i cant for the life of me work out where it would go.... Any ideas? Jay
  23. Hey have you still got any of these stickers left? Thanks, Jason
  24. Erm me. That´s probably because my Rado has the steering wheel on the ¨right¨ side of the car 8) Tempest Surely it wouldn't matter which side it was on....its a mirrored image.....
  25. Haha nice one dubstar! Thanks for the links, will give me something to think about, how is the sound quality?
