  1. If you can find me some sample images (themed images) then i can work something up for you, it should be fairly simple now as i can use mine as a template. I had to massacre my old (early) dials to get the marks in the right places, but i didnt need them anyway  What i'll do is remake the whole thing for you but in the exact style used here but ill make it as a vector image so it can be resized etc but i will save it as a pdf (which will be the correct size) so it can just be printed out onto your choice of backing material :)
  2. Its pretty much a straight swap as i did early to late in my valver. The only thing you'll need to remember is that you'll also need to use the metal bracket from the corresponding dash (early bracket for early etc) which sits at the bottom middle (infront of the heater box) as they are different. I'm afraid i don't have a picture to show you but someone else might. The next bit you'll have trouble with is the door cards although going from late to early won't be as much of a problem as the other way around. There are extra brackets for the late which i needed to make holes in my door to fit (you dont see them) but as you're going the other way it shouldn't be a problem although you might have to remove them. The centre console with the heater dials/slider etc is different for early to late and im not sure if the brackets are also different. If you're swapping them over too you'll need to remember to use the cables from the heater box (2 black and 1 blue that run from the box to the dials/slider) as the slider uses 'r' hooks and the dial 'o' hooks. What else...
  3. Have you got a better version of the image? Ie as a vector image? im in the process of doing my own and ive got it all as an illustrator file. I can put the LCD sections in for you though the only thing is that on the speedo the 160 is in the wrong place. Ill upload it anyway and ill also show you mine. The biggest issue with this is finding the right quality paper/sheet to print it on, i tried using matt photo paper and it comes out really well but it picks up greasy marks and scratches easily. The next hardest bit is cutting the LCD panels out without it looking tacky. The best thing about printing it out like this yourself is that being on white paper/sheet it reacts really well to a UV light so no need to buy expensive EL paper and invertors (which was how i was going to do it in the end). I had to move the 160 mark obviously and you'd need a better image before you can use it (you cant print this version as its not high quality) 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfUntitled-1.jpg[/attachment:3jw4dz1y] Here's mine (sorry about the watermarks) they look very much like the DDI dials at the moment but im still playing around with other ideas Gauges2.jpg[/attachment:3jw4dz1y]
  4. I haven't had a chance to look at mine, need to get it up but just haven't had the time, its stopped working completely now, no more random temperatures so im guessing it'll need replacing. Does anyone know the part number so i can at least investigate prices Thanks
  5. yeah reversed, going to make it red, just not got around to it yet :) Ill have a look tomorrow (even if it's christmas!), it might be a dodgy connector as you say because it intermittently comes on and then goes again Thanks for the replies, J
  6. where can i get a replacement? Will i have to order one from the stealers? Thanks, j
  7. Ok so my ambient air temp sensor didnt seem to be working, or at least it wouldnt display anything on the MFA display, then for some reason it started working today....only it showed a ridiculous temperature ...-38c!!!! 091223_171204.jpg[/attachment:15nrgd24] It then decided to stop working, then randomly it came back, started at -4 and kept 'getting colder'...im going to assume that it needs replacing, any advice on where it is, how to get a replacement would be helpful (pics would be greatly appreciated) Thanks, J
  8. haha awesome, yeah i got a reply from oilman and he said it will be fine so its all good! Just can't believe i didnt double check! at least it wasn't a canister of diesel or anything bad like that!!
  9. Ok cool, well thanks for your replies, i'll keep an eye on it and make sure that i change the oil as soon as i can just so i can avoid any potential issues :)
  10. Well hopefully he'll find this topic and give his opinion, i am planning on replacing the oil anyway but it was running a bit hot and after i checked it needed a top up until i replace it
  11. Ok so i went to buy some new oil today, picked up from halfrauds their own brand 10w/40 as it was suggested by them to give 'ulimate protection' and i couldnt be bothered to search around so i bought it. At the same time my mum bought some 5w/30 for her Ford Mondeo.....i think you can probably figure out what happened next....in the dark, and the cold i accidently poured her Mondeo oil into my engine, it wasnt that much, probably about a cup full..anyway, is this going to cause a problem, i mean apart from viscosity etc oil is oil but it clearly isnt the correct oil that is suggested Thanks!
  12. Ah man, everyone seems to have owned far more cars then me! Then again im only 22! Renault 19 16v Citroen Xsara Volvo 850 (for a charity drive across europe) Corrado Valver (current car)
  13. Well the brakes seem fine normally and they were passed ok on the MOT so i dont think the pads are sticking. Would it be worth upgrading to MK4 calipers?
  14. This might sound stupid but have you made sure that you've put the lock in the right position? Its got 2 positions; if the lock is horizontal then it will be locked/unlocked from the c/l but if it is in the vertical position it won't be locked/unlocked via the c/l...just worth checking :)
  15. If that is so i guess my best bet is to replace the rear calipers? Im assuming the handbrake mech is part of the caliper/carrier?

    Handbrake

I took my rado in for her (third) MOT test as she kept failing due to the handbrake, we replaced the cables and she finally passed but only just. The minimum is 16% and she scored like 16.3% or something similar. Now even with the new cables the passengers side cable has been tightened up as far as it will go....obviously the braking power isnt going to improve as i cannot tighten it anymore. I've got a year to sort this issue out but would rather get it done as soon as i can. What are my options? Thanks, J
  17. As per the title does anyone have the fitting instructions for the above immobiliser? Thanks, J

    Headlining

im also in the same boat, have been trying to shift it for ages! Seems no-one wants a grey interior

    Headlining

Obviously you can recover it, not sure how much of a PITA it would be though...wasn't someone on here making/cutting the material for people? for a price obviously, or did i imagine it :)
  20. Cool thanks for the replies i wasnt looking forward to replacing the whole set >. i was tempted in doing this but he spent ages looking at all 4 wheels, and has put down as an advisory that the other 3 are also damaged, but clearly not as bad and it definately looks like a bulge/dent where someone has tried to get the tyres off J :)
  21. Ok took my 'rado in for its MOT today and (amongst other things) it failed due to one of the wheels being distorted [4.2.1a], ive also got an advisory notice for the other wheels also being damaged. I think, and it looks to be damaged when some idiot replaced the tyres and has damaged the alloy in doing so. There is a section on each alloy (on the inner) that is slighty bent out of shape. Does anyone know if this can be repaired, if so does anyone know about anywhere in Milton Keynes or local surroundings? Thanks, Jason
  22. out of curiousity where can i get some new cables? As ive changed from the slider to the knobs and the cables are different (sliders have 'r' shaped hooks, knobs have rings) otherwise i cannot use it >.
  23. cool thanks I'll give that a go and see how it runs :)
  24. Ah thanks guys, now i feel really stupid lol  Also with the fan coming on at (now that i know its coolant temp) 90ish is that right?
  25. Hey ive had a search but cant find the correct pressures for my tyres. Obviously they're not the stock standard so the sticker on the inside of the door doesnt help. They were on the car when i bought it and needed pumping up but as its been sat for a few months while ive been rebuilding the engine i need to inflate them again (possibly a slow leak not sure) they are: 205/40 ZR 17 Hopefully someone can help! Thanks, J
