  1. Just been outside with the phone camera as i trod on my digital :( anyway the pics arent brilliant (see above quote lol) looks much better in the 'light' (get it....cr&p joke..) The blue is a bit bright but it usually doesnt bother me, using red probably wouldn't be much different, you could change the light output however by using a different resistor...which i might do if i get fed up with it being bright, or ill tweak the dial by the light switch (it doesnt control the lcd display as they turn on when i put the keys in the ignition, reverse LCD is hard to see during the day! ) Also for some reason the LEDs in the switches are brighter than the dash switches (even with the dial turned all the way up) Hope this helps passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf100310_222018.jpg[/attachment:25dhc2sr] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf100310_222051.jpg[/attachment:25dhc2sr] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf100310_222430.jpg[/attachment:25dhc2sr] 100310_222211.jpg[/attachment:25dhc2sr]
  2. Mine are blue, i can post images up for you in a bit as its nice and dark outside  I've got a nice combo of blue switches, blue dials, blue lights for dash and red LCD display :) All ive got left to convert is the mirror switch and the sunroof switch but like i said, they're both SMDs and would need some fine soldering to change them...also the sunroof switch SMDs are wired in series....
  3. check that the boot light doesnt stay on, take your parcel shelf out and close the boot, you can easily just disconnect the light if it stays on as this is also a common issue
  4. Is yours a late model? Im guessing since its VR then it is. The mirror switch contains SMDs and are a complete PITA to replace, the window switches are easy to do, likewise with the dash switches (i know because ive replaced all mine with blue LEDs). As Kempy says, you prise the handle cover off, undo the 2 large screws and you can unclip the switch! :)
  5. Immobilisers like this usually require a new set of keys to be programmed to it. My immobiliser (Selca IM3.22) comes with a red master key which resets the immobilser and sets it to the red master key, i can then program up to black keys. I'm going to assume that you haven't got a master key? You can possibly still buy a master key and spare keys for your version you'll just have to trawl google and see if you can find anything. Disconnecting it will be a bit of a pain in the ar$e, especially if it contains 2 cut offs; 1 will probably be the starter cable (wont mention it here but can pm you if you want it) and possibly the fuel pump cable (again will pm you the colours if you need them) if its not the fuel pump then it could be anything...hope this helps!
  6. Those are the normal MFA readings, also the '15mph' reading will be your average speed for that journey. Selection 1 always resets to 0 everytime you turn the engine off whereas selection 2 continues to update and stores its previous readings. The outputs are; time> oil temp> MPG> engine running time> average speed> ambient air temp (not necessarily in that order, also might have missed one) I cant remember the way to get to the 'secret options' but if you do a search im sure you can find it
  7. The search box is your friend, so many threads about this! :)
  8. I did the same thing last weekend, its easier if you remove all the interior from the back; the rooflining, C pillar plastics, parcel shelf supports and the boot carpets (you don't need to remove the main bottom piece just the side pieces). Shaun is also right about it running down both sides. Also it helps with at least 2 extra people when replacing the tailgate, especially when unbolting it!! Jay
  9. OK so I had to replace one of my panels and it didn't have the bump strip on it so I though I'd use this opportunity to take the strip from the one I was replacing and paint it the same colour as my car. I will need to put it back on as the previous owner of the panel removed the strips and unfortunately at the same time it pulled some of the lacquer off, I'd either cover this with the strip or need to paint the panel again. So has anyone done this before? if so pics would be nice. I will be keeping the strips on the car regardless because I think they serve a good purpose, especially with the amount of cars already on my driveway... What do other people think? The strips are weathered due to 18 years of the British weather and general wear and tear and could do with tidying up, i do realise however that being 'bump' strips they are liable to get scratched/dented/damaged and the paint possibly pulled off but its better than a dent in the car.... Jay
  10. Am i right in thinking that is a REALLY good price? Shame its in scotland, too far for me to travel.... :(
  11. Love it, still makes me smile everytime you see cars going past with people staring, even the drivers! I havent seen many around the mk region but further up north seems to be more of a hot spot, myself and John (Novastrike) are going to try and get an 'MK meet' going on or something...
  12. No prob, we're here to help :D

  14. If you want them delocked then you'll need to get passat rear handles and the locking mechanism, try the search theres lots of threads about it
  15. the handles are originally black however over years of usage and general weathering they've become a rough grey colour. To get them looking like you want you'll have to sand them down, prime them, then paint them with a black paint (spray works best) then to protect them and get the shiny effect use some lacquer. Thats what i did to mine and they look really good (not black though, pearl green)
  16. Woo me! Didnt see you though, i was looking to see if i spotted anyone.... First spot, shame i had to drive all the way up there to be seen! Work (TKmaxx) wanted me to go to the store in Worcester today even though i live in Milton Keynes, took me 2 hours to get home! :( (if it helps I like to think my numberplate says my name 'J535N' - 'JASON'....or that might just be me...¬_¬)
  17. hmmm might stick to just a chipped bonnet for now then, like i said ive not had the money to paint it and if its going to cause hassle then its probably not worth it...might see about fabricating a small perspex shield though...
  18. Haha  haven't got a fresh bonnet but its probably cheaper than getting it redone.... When i was in Australia nearly all the cars have a clear perspex/acrylic strip that sits along the bonnet, much less obtrusive than a bonnet bra but probably does the same job, i wonder if we can get something similar for the 'rado, similar to the headlight covers....

    Bonnet Bra?

Worth it? What do people think?
  20. ouch, damn stealers! By pillars do you mean the ones that go on the inside of the window, around the frame? (just out of curiosity)
  21. on the door on the outside, run from the wing mirror... Mine arent ripped or anything but they dont touch the window so dont wipe it when it is opened/closed
  22. Thats what i thought but it did look longer when it was parked behind mine, it might just be the angle of the photos but i will try and find something, im probably just being stupid lol
  23. Ill see if my dad has any he usually has random stuff like this lying around if not will purchase the ones dragon green posted
  24. I met bristolbaron today as he was collecting some parts and my brother noticed that the front wings on his G60 were longer than that on my 2.0 valver, both were J reg 92 plate I have been looking through the gallery and at corrados on ebay and it seems that the wings on the G60 are longer than both that of the valver and the VR6 however i also saw some valvers and VR6s with the same length wings as the G60?! The thing is it doesnt match up with the years of early/late. I could understand that different engine meant that the space would need to be different but when i find that the VR6 and valver have both short and long wings it doesnt make sense..... Is it just me or can someone clarify this as im a bit confused lol.... :confused4: :confused4: :confused4:
  25. she's finally back on the road now but gotta take her back off again soon to replace the front subframe and engine mount as theres a huge rust hole in the subframe and she seems to be shaking a little bit (http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=76493) :( also had to replace drivers wing and bootlid at the weekend! Its a never ending job Also found that ive got water in both front footwells, will need a visit to the stealers for some gaskets and various other parts it seems
