I fitted the ultra brilliance 120% H4 and super brilliance 90% H3 bulbs from halfrauds earlier today (bogof). I had 60% H4s and standard H3s and there was a noticable difference, if not that they were a more whiter light. Where I work is in a little village so no streetlights at all. I didn't get a chance to test them so will see what they're like tomorrow. I've also got an uprated loom....

TPS recommends Quantum Platinum or magnatec 5w/40, ive always used 10w/40

David can they do Friday? I'm off all day.

Vag worx in Great Horwood near to where I work want £285 for a full service and mot...vag tech near screw fix in Bletchley haven't got back to me but they don't do mots. Haven't seen one near the station..

David its for the VR which does have a fsh, and quite a comprehensive one at that! Lots of work done at JMR. Last service was over 5k since I bought it and it was religiously done so I've been letting her down but I don't do huge amounts of miles. Less than 8k a year prob...

Does anyone know a decent place to get an MOT and service in Milton Keynes? I can do the service no probs but want the book stamped. Any ideas?
-
Yeah, someone said the early vrs had 6 sided nuts but like you I went with the gkn oem equivalent one in the end with the 12 sided nut. Worth the extra £ for piece of mind.

The previous owner of my VR cut a hole in the bottom, removed the carbon canister and used 80mm dia pipework to run from the airbox to the ducting behind the bumper...not sure how much of a difference it makes but without the pipework in and the headlight it makes a crazy roar as it sucks air in... Edit: Does anyone have any experience with a universal CDA rather than the BMC one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Forced-Induction-Cold-Air-Feed-pipe-Kit-Cone-Ram-Filter-3inch-Duct-Flexipipe/221144824503?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D2568731051265023849%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D230686697172%26 Would there be much of a difference other than just the brand?

http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=82112 Check my thread out, mine went doing around 70mph! In the end i had to replace the whole wheel set up, hub, bearing, cv joint, all for the oem quality parts from GSF, not cheap!

My VR6 is non-sunroof and thats a 94...I do miss having one sometimes though. ..having said that my valvers sunroof works perfectly although rattles haha!
-
Yeah no worries, just let me know.

Hey mate thanks for that link, i picked the one up from Stonejag :)
-
Hey buddy sorry for bot replying I've just been so busy with work and trying to put my VR back together. I've got what you need,£15 for the box plus the bowden cables?
-
Cool that'd be easier! If its just the box you're after and not the duct and fan I think I've got a spare box by itself in the garage, I'll check the condition of it, I think all it would need is just some foam on the flaps.
-
How old are you, and how long have you had your Corrado/Corrado's?

26, bought the Valver when I was 22 and the VR when I was 24, still got both -
Yeah I'm getting rid of it, its quite big so I'll have to get a cost for delivery to Hull! I'll work out a cost and let you know tomorrow if that's okay?
-
My dash is in pieces because I'm upgrading to climatronic so i'll have a look for you, i might even have a spare set of bowden cables...
-
By scale do you mean just surface rust as mine is falling apart!
-
That makes a lot of sense!
-
Hey guys, as the title suggests i'm looking for a twin fan cowling for my VR as mine is a bit fubar'd. I have looked on ebay and found nothing. My friend has suggested just to fibreglass over it, at least the surround bits where the damage from the rust is....any suggestions?

There will be some kind of sensor as the seat only comes on when its sat in.

Hey mate hopefully these photos will help you, colour coded and labelled just for you! It should be clear from the notes but if not: Obviously the white socket goes to the switch, the loom which comes off splits (I re-wrapped mine), the blue/grey cable has a grey socket on the end and is for illumination, there is, iirc 2/3 black cables which join to become 1 which has a green socket which is for power. The rest of the loom runs to the relays and from there to the seats. The loom is grounded at the relays with a ring terminal.

My dash is in pieces since I'm doing a climatronic conversion, it was too dark by the time I got back yesterday but I'll take some for you today.
-
There should only be 2 to connect into the fuse box, power and lighting...the green goes into one of the spare slots next to another of the green ones and the black again a spare near the other black ones. Sorry I can't be more helpful, I'm at work but it was that easy to install mine. When I get home if I remember I'll take a photo for you.

Wow this opened up a can of worms! Very mixed reviews I see, every one of them valid I guess. Its not that I want to get rid of the 'rado just annoyed with the fact there is always something new that goes wrong and I was getting to the end of my tether! I like the looks of both and agree that the A5 would be more of a tourer rather than sporty but then more power options are available than the Scirocco. I couldn't afford the S line and definately not the RS, same goes for the Scirocco R. I'd probably be looking more around the 2.0 TFSI or TDI mark. I don't do many miles so maybe the Scirocco would be more fun as I only work 6 miles away, although some of the roads are quite nice around there... Maybe the money would be better spent tuning the VR? She is currently down on power, I already have heated leather seats and I'm about to do a climatronic conversion with A/C so will be getting that set up nicely... I was just going with the fact that I could get in the car and know that I shouldn't have to worry about anything going wrong!
