  1. I've used a VR6 Rad and a couple of 10" fans on my 1.8T Fit's in fine, there's plenty of space behind the radiator if you were using standard VR6 fans too.. Simon
  2. Hi Steve, Just to Confirm I'll take a VR6 set with no logo please :) Thanks Simon
  3. I'm definitely interested, got a late bonnet, but won't be able to check the shape of the liner for a week or so. But put me down for one without the emblem. Thanks!
  4. Thanks, I've just put them in the post.. Thanks Simon
  5. Cool, Lets do that.. I'll drop you a PM with my PayPal details.. Cheers Simon
  6. Hi Mate, As it will cost me the best part of £10 to post I'd do them for £50 delivered? Cheers Simon
  7. When the part numbers are the same between the two sites, yes it will be the exactly the same parts.
  8. Interesting rule of thumb where Euro Car Parts is concerned.. If the part number ends in a 1 then its an ECP 'Own Brand' product; invariably Chinese. If the part number ends in a 0 it's a tier 1 OEM supplier, ending in a 5 tier 2 OEM supplier. Other numbers indicate other sources but it's the part numbers ending in 1 which y
  9. Many of you maybe aware that Euro Car Parts have branded a site called Car Parts 4 Less, in order to compete with themselves. The pricing on carparts4less.co.uk is quite a bit more competitive than that of ECP. For example, I've Just purchased this: ECP - £110.40 - http://www.eurocarparts.com/search/136440048/p/home CP4L - £76.80 - http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/search/136440048/p/home And with the CP4L 10% discount code makes it £66.80 with free delivery. So I've just saved £33.60 from their normal list price, and it comes off the same shelf! Just thought I'd share. Simon
  10. Will take offers on these.. the box is now getting in my way! Perfect if you're changing your front wheel bearings or a nice touch if you're reconditioning you hub carriers etc etc.. Will put on ebay if there's no interest. Cheers Simon
  11. That I don't know? Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on it. Would yours be from an early car then? Simon
  12. Hi Mate, The whole loom would be awesome in one piece! How much would you want for it? Simon
  13. Hi guys, I'm after part of the headlamp wiring loom. Ideally I need the Headlamp and foglamp connectors with a several inches of wire. I've just googled it to grab an image so it's easier to explain.. Not sure if they differ between the early/ late headlights but I'm after the late ones.. Cheers Simon
  14. Hi mate, I'm after part of the headlamp wiring loom. Ideally I need the Headlamp and foglamp connectors with a several inches of wire. I've just googled it to grab an image so it's easier to explain.. Is this something you would have? Cheers Simon
  15. Yes, moulding some hardboard into the existing door card and re covering it would be the convention method. I'll see how much room there is to play with again once I've got the doors back on. When I looked before it was a case of losing about 5-10mm depth from the door card. If I used a decent gauge steel and made it integral to the structure of the door I'm sure it would be fine. I'm planning on sound deadening them and aiming for a factory look so I'll put some thought into it nearer the time. Cheers Simon
  16. It does look great with that stance though.. Always liked rados on those wheels.. Would look great polished ;) You'll need to get the narrower splitter otherwise that one will get torn to shreds!
  17. ---------- Post added at 9:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 9:29 PM ---------- Thanks, Yes, that's the idea.. not put a great deal of though into the detail yet but I'm thinking maybe black with an ivory type colour to complement. ---------- Post added at 9:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 9:38 PM ---------- Thanks man :) the door cards will need cutting, but as opposed to tapering the cards I'm thinking maybe fabricating it in metal and welding it in then running the door card up to that point.. Kinda like the Lupo door cards.. Not decided yet though.. Will think about it a bit more when I reach that stage! Cheers Simon
  18. Hi, I've got a pair of Brand New VR6 wheel hubs which I got when I was going to do a 5x100 conversion. Decided to stay 4x100 now so these are surplus to requirements. They're made by Topran (OEM) and retail for £53 each http://www.eurocarparts.com/search/629440360/p/home They'll fit a number of VAG cars.. you can check fitment on the link above. £50 for the pair + postage. Boxed and ready to go. Cheers Simon
  19. I've now got a target locked in! I'm going to aim for the Prept meet at Brands Hatch on 15th June. Gives me about 10 weeks to get back to Cambridge and get it road legal! Any of you guy considering going? Made some good progress over the weekend. Had the engine bay painted on Saturday so concentrated on other areas of the car. Wired up the front and rear ABS with new sensors, then new handbrake cables and continued with the wiring. Then mounted the Heater box and installed the dash wiring around it. The dash is all wired up now bar a few switches.. Will stay like this now until it's though the MOT and I've driven it a bit and tested everything. Once I'm happy I'll take the dash out again and wrap the loom properly. Next on the list is to plumb the brake brake lines into the ABS pump and mount the servo. Then the engine can go back in :) Simon
  20. Thanks, for all the positive feedback guys, I'll certainly be out and about in it once its road legal.. However will be very much a work in progress for a while to come! Went along to Pirtek yesterday to sort out the high pressured power steering hose as it I needed a Banjo fitting for the MK4 Pump. Really impressed with the service, they utilised the existing solid section and fitted a new 250bar hose with a banjo. Apparently they’re starting to branch into automotive hydraulics too so I think I’ll get the clutch hose made up there when I’m ready. Also, just had the engine bay professionally painted this morning in by http://www.acefinishcarrepairs.com would certainly recommend them for anyone in the Cambridge area! Pics to follow.. Cheers Simon
  21. I've used the VR rad, so it's not top fill. Am going to bed the car in with an expansion tank before using an in-line filler myself. Simon
  22. I've got a set of half leather A8's.. They're in storage at the moment but am thinking that I may have to consider selling them in a few months. All depends on my finances when I'll be looking to get the Rado resprayed. I'm not going to be accessing them for a while but PM me if you want more details.. Simon
  23. Thanks, I've actually been very lucky on the parts front as I used to work at Euro Car Parts and have built a number of other Car Parts Websites off the back of that. So I've always had favourable pricing and have also come across some rare dusty parts too.. Hunting out Old-Stock OE parts has become much of a speciality! :) I've had the car now for little over 11 years, the last 5 of which it's been off the road, It is most definitely a labour of love! ---------- Post added at 2:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:58 PM ---------- Thanks Alan, I've just used P45 body filler on parts of the bay.. There's no depth to the filler anywhere so should be all good on the cracking front. Simon ---------- Post added at 2:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:00 PM ---------- It's been a little while since I last updated this so thought that I'd bring it up to date. Having reconditioned the Rear Beam with new bushes and Paint, I've now re-assembled the rear axle. Used Mk4 golf Calipers with new Discs, Bearings, Pads, Disc guards and Goodridge hoses. I've also re-assembled the front so at least now I have a rolling shell again! I've also now removed the engine again so that I can give it another coat of paint before I bolt up the servo and do the brake lines etc. Troube is now I'm in two minds about having the Satin engine bay.. I'm thinking I should do it properly and spray it the same colour as the car or at least Gloss Black. This Pic is of the Satin bay And this one of the Satin bay when it was still wet.. Gives me an idea of what it would look like Gloss Black. What's anyone's view on this? I've got a quote from a mobile sprayer to do it in 2 Pack the same colour as the car for £140 which I'm thinking is quite reasonable? Cheers Simon
  24. I'd be keen to get involved with a meet.. I'm in East London too, the Rado's not roadworthy for another couple of months yet but will come down in the Scirocco.
  25. Hi Guys, I've got a bit of an issue with regard to my rear spolier. When I ripped out my original engine and loom I gave away the spoiler module and associated wiring without a second thought. Now I'm at the stage that I need to wire it in from scratch into a MK4 Golf 1.8t (agu) loom. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the spoiler control module? I've not got a Bentleys manual or anything so don't really know where to start. I'm aiming to get it working completely as standard. I'm not sure if I'd be better off buying a complete loom with it in and going from there, but first I need to figure out where I need to connect it to and even if it's feasible! Any help will be greatly appreciated! Cheers Simon
