  1. Real nice feature Gareth, car looks sweet. So is this Ben's new ride? It says your funding a new project - what is it?....
  2. ...erm, NEXT weekend Sam. 11th Oh, and looking forward to seeing this in the metal - looks sweet! 8)
  3. Yep, go 215/35 - I'm running them on 9s all round on my mk2 Golf. Doesn't seem that much different ride wise from previous 205/40s but look so cool, and there's even more room in the arches to go lower!!.......
  4. Jim> that pic taken at NewTyres4You by any chance?......I was there last week having some 215/35/16s put on my 9x16 without scratching the polished lips - they know their stuff!
  5. Good buy Jim, thats one nice looking ride!
  6. Looks hard as nails!! Love it!
  7. That looks amazing mate!.........you'll have to get a perspex bonnet made up now! lol
  8. Simon's mk2 is pushing 280-290bhp, sounds high-powered enough to me!
  9. They're Proline PA wheels I think.
  10. Might be cheaper to source some new chrome bolts from Germany....
  11. How does it fit and held in place though? just clips on or something?........would be interested.
  12. Another vote for Top Gear from me, much better programme BUT I have to say that Clarkson is so up himself!!!.....If he was made of chocolate, he'd eat himself no doubt!!
  13. LOL....no wonder Rockford calls that range 'Punch'!!!!
  14. Damn, thats just a beauty!! Love the colour, stance, everything!!! 8)
  15. I've just been in the same situation - changing the wifes 97 Polo as the boots just too small for the nippers push-chair and associated luggage. Looked at both A4's and Passats - the TDi models are dearer than the petrol equivalents, and depending on if you want the Audi badge you'll get a 1-2yr older car to a similarly priced Passat. The Passats seem to vary loads dependant on spec ie. S model, SE, or Sports, and also be aware that the face lift model B5.5 (chrome grille etc) came out on 2001 X reg so don't pay 'newer model' money for 'older model'......imo, of course. Loads of one-owner high mileage company cars available, fully serviced etc and decent spec. Also, the A4's are not as roomy in the rear as the Passat if you need the legroom etc. We ended up going for 2001 X reg B5.5 Passat 20v Turbo Sport, 100k, one owner, FVAGSH, climate, all electrics, sports trim etc for £3.5k - lot of car for the money imo, collect it this Saturday. HTH
  16. Their Jettas also have Passat B4 front ends on them!....
  17. Love the S2 coupe's, that 5pot warble is easily on a par with the VR6 rumble - and they can be tuned for serious power!!!
  18. Thanks. I'll try and get one sorted.
  19. Guys I have a VR6 in my Mk2 Golf (OBD1 engine from Passat). Now, we didn't put the diagnostic port in (thought we'd do it later...), and now the donor car/shell has been taken away from the breakers.... Can I use any diagnostic port from any Passat/Corrado or does it have to be a VR6 one?......Does it matter which type of plug as I think there were two types ?... Thanks for any help.
  20. Jay> on the unit side of things, you'll be close to Phatty in York, so i reckon a couple of guys with both your levels of knowledge and skill would have no problems getting work in....... Will you still be offering your services after you've started work oop north (I'm think I need a TT dash in my mk2 Golf).... 8)
  21. Simply stunning Jay, one of my faves from the show - the detail, finish, and ideas all combine in one overall package that is just awesome!!! Well done!
