  1. kevhaywire> that was Mark Harries' mk2 wasn't it?..
  2. Mark> i hear that the VW flywheels are well balanced anyway and you can get away with just lightening it as long as you don't lighten it too much?.....not 100% certain how true this is tho - may want to check on the vortex... :?
  3. My mate's just built a Mk1 2.0 G60 Golf - uses a forged EIP Tuning crank, Ross Pistons, Eurospec flowed head, Schrick cam, Rallye i/c, brand new (0 miles) G-Lader taken out to R1 spec, samco hoses, now with toothed belt pulley kit, uses a 16v box with Quaiffe diff. Engine built by Stealth and awaiting Geoff Everett? from AMD to map it as it's still being run in but owner is hoping for 250bhp+ and similar torque at least?..........(fingers crossed)..... 8)
  4. Another thumbs up for Davebirl, for the VF Engineering mounts, quick smooth sale.
  5. Will have a good look at ed38, but from the photos the work looks excellent! It's about time you had some joy from bodyshops!
  6. The original 'PhatVR6' is back! LOL! Looking good mate, but I was gonna say the same as Lee - won't the 7s get swamped in those arches?...........I'm sure you got it covered! (9's up front, and 10x16 rears!)
  7. That's a lovely car, but I'm gonna stick my neck out and say already that it'll look 100% better on the RHZW1's imo............let's wait and see......
  8. Yep, t'was me waving madly!! Was by brothers Seat we were in, soon to get some bling rims and coilovers on it... 8) Your Rado was looking sweet mate.
  9. Looks tough! You had to do much to the arches to get the 9s on?.... 8)
  10. It certainly does - like I said at Tatton, all the mods are so nice and subtle that there's a lot of things you don't notice straight away........you had to tell me about the filler cap lip! The car's got a real presence about it! Love it!! 8)
  11. No offence, the pics are very 'arty' and all that but were there any cars at this meet!? :?: :?
  12. Daz> you need help!!............LOL, nah - they look stunning mate! 8)
  13. Valver

    20VT engines

    Is it finished?....
  14. Absolutely stunning Lee - I bet it looks awesome on the move!! MJ said he finished putting the trim back in on the morning of the show!!  Well done mate, all that hard work was well worth it IMO!!
  15. Hmmm, that's what I was thinking.........
  16. Guys I've got a couple of Stroeve Motorsport alloy bottles (power steering and washer fluid) but no bracket to mount them? Anyone else use these, and did you just fabricate your own custom bracket or can anyone make one up for me?... They have a small threaded hole underneath them which I assume is for a plate/platform to be bolted for them to sit on..... Cheers for any help
  17. Yep, one of Phat's buds - live in Coventry tho so don't go to the Harrogate meet. Got a mk2 16v currently with Rallye front, 9x16 borbet A's, Phats old TT/Corrado leathers, and it's getting a VR6 very soon......in fact, Paul says it'll be the new phatvr6 re-incarnated!! ....got a 24v lump tho which will eventually get swapped over.... (Paul said he'll get Andy to make me a custom loom for it to plug and play) Keep us posted on yours fella!
  18. Oops, forgot about the charger!! Is the said mate Andy Outhwaite by any chance?... :?:
  19. ...or you can try the MX5 mirrors like G60 Renshaw - look just as good imo and prob a fraction of the cost of 993 mirrors!
  20. Yes, it's Phatty's - he only lives about 5mins from Elvington iirc...
  21. Nice pics Daz - I have to get over to this show next year!!!
  22. Looking good CoxyLaad! Does it bolt up to the standard VR mounts as I've been told the block is basically the same? Also, is there much clearance under the bonnet with the top cover on or are you leaving it off? Notced that you've kept the expansion tank in the standard location - I've seen other transplant where they move it to left side of engine as the intake pipe is on the right?.......... Let me know how you find the ECU management side of things aswell - I've also heard that the 24v lump can be run on the 12v loom, not sure of pro/cons of doing this tho?... :| Nice work! 8)
  23. I'm with Greenlight and their service has been very good. Although, as mentioned, the proof is when you have to claim. I was with Adrian Flux who were cheapest I could get about 5 years ago but when I had to claim about 3 years ago for a non-fault accident - they managed to f*ck up pretty much everything along the way!!! Took me 2 years to get any money back, and I had full admission from the 3rd party that it was their fault!!!............and they managed to cancel my policy aswell!!!! Useless c*nts - I hope they've improved since my experience with them............
