  1. that car is one nice lookin corrado...wanna swap?? Got any more photos of that fuel rail?? and any of the interior? i love the american spec bumpers....nice BRIGHT HID's. Sanj.
  2. i'll try buffing it and if it does nothing to the difference in appearance then i'll save up and have it repsprayed properly along with some other bits like a new front grill. That way i know its done and looks good. The wing looks like new now and the bonnet, drivers wing and bumper are now in need of a spray...i might as well save up £600 and have the whole car done in one go instead of spending a spare £200-300 on just wing and grill and rear debadging.
  3. yeah i know...my g/f also mentioned that the paint on the car isn't going to be perfect (near 12yrs old) so i guess i'll just have it mopped and perhaps blended at some point when i have the cash. How much was your eyebrow bally?? i might go for seperate eyebrow and debadged FK grille.
  4. can everyone now see the pic of my wing above showing the colour difference? Bobby- i thought the washer jets are the same shape and look as the corrado ones except have plastic water jets inside instead of the metal heated ones in the corrado...good thinking though! i may do that.
  5. bobby- your right about the shady match its too purple...i'll take a photo of it now and upload it soon. the washer jets are still off as i can't find the wiring loom for the heating mechanism to rewire them up....can they just go to live and negative on the battery?? that'll mean they're on all the time. as for the bumper...mine would not come off at all! so i ended up ripping the old wing off the car with full force and it was STUCK on with some sort of mastic glue that gave it a weld onto the chassis. The wing had two 10mm bolts tucked under the bumper u can see them through the join line of bumper to wing...u can access these from under the bumper and then undo all 5-6 bolts on top of the wing and two at the front which tuck it onto the slam panel. then one inside the wing in the middle (remove arch lining first though)...then one hidden under wing next to the door to the left of the jacking point. now pull with all ya might or use a heat gun to heat the mastic enough first. new wing will need to be carefully tucked in and takes about a good 15mins with a mate as you don't wanna scratch the door. Thanks again. Sanjay.
  6. they are sweet as mate... 8) Sanj.
  7. yes mate..i was wondering you'd show up in this thread :) I used two pack paint and also primer with activator yeah...and then laquer with harder all had a bit of thinner in there too. The wing looks very dark and purple...this can't be the laquer doing it can it? it does look shiny yes and i'll be taking it to my mates place to get buffed properly using the G3 stuff to cut the paint a bit...cheers for the tips though mate, i tried buffing it on my old polo wing and it came out dull and matt finish so best off takin it to my mate with the proper equipment. unless you can get drill attachments for buffing? i haven't seen them in halfords. Cheers again. Sanj. p.s. how will i sort my washer jets out then?? theyre purple too
  8. isnt the last pic of bournmouth james car with the calibra skirts...i like it. I like your car too!
  9. bobby mate...the MPG on the MFA could be out...what you'd need to do is run the car a fair bit not just town (urban) driving...where it will show 15mpg. It doesn't neccessarely mean its 15mpg..its just cos the computer doesnt have enough time between you starting and driving then stopping the engine to work out the exact mpg.. On longer journeys the figure should read 27mpg+ around town should show about 20-23mpg. A drilled or cut airbox can effect the mpg too! Sanj.
  10. guys this is a VERY DARK misty purple...very much like G60 Jets. it has no blue in it whatsover apart from when its in shadow it goes dark blue...i guess another repsray will be in order but i have the wing in now. Literally been workin on it since 10am this morning and i've got in at 11pm after puttin it all back together again. I couldn't undo the two bolts either side..they're frozen solid! so the bumper stayed on and i somehow carefully slid the wing into place! nowt much else i could do. Anyways...guys thanks for all your help and i'll try get a picture of my misfortune of a wing. Sanjay.
  11. guys thanks for that vote of confidence....i'll stick the wing on which is already sprayed and laquered...lets hope its not a major eyesore. Can someone please ring me as i'm trying to take the front bumper off and having no luck from the previous posts on its removal.. I'll call you back so you don't waste your money helping me out for a bit...07900 986635 Thanks!!! Sanjay.
  12. i've been told earlier ones can be £40-50 with fogs and indicators...and later can be upwards of £100.
  13. hiya guys.. i've just resprayed my wing in that colour along with some washer jets and it seems to be a purple colour in the light... Has anyone apart from me had this?? i have the paint mixed up according to the code and the guy i got it mixed by has seen my car and knows its not purple. Its a very nice purple too...a very metallic purple, i'm worried that its a completely different colour as i've spent the last 4days prepping the wing! No other paint code matches the description of the colour...so i can't pin point it. Please let me know what my best option is...other than taking it to a good bodyshop as they want £150. Thanks. Sanjay.
  14. Sorry..couldn't resist. Sanj. p.s. i use autosol on my inlet manifold and seems to work fine with some wet and dry. My dads got this great big industrial steam line pipe outside his factory that i use to clean my wheels with....one quick 2sec dust and all the brake dust is off! Maybe i could use that on the bay, but its soo hot it may melt the plastic parts. :?
  15. where are you located mate? i take it your in the states... the fuse box is located under the drivers side steering column... you'll see two black plastic lugs holding the shelf in....pull these down slightly...then the shelf should pop down with some help. Behind it is the fuse box... Check all wiring behind the lights too...and your defroster switch must be broken...or atleast i believe so...it may need to be taken apart to see. As for the hood not opening....hmm...we'll come to that after the fuses are checked
  16. it'd be good to get photos of the 'little interior pieces' your on about mate...as for the bumper, i'll keep my eye out for a cheap VR bumper to do a later swap for yours...i fancy the little US spec bits it has! Is there anything your after this side of the waters? 8) Sanjay.
  17. love it mate...your now my background screen mate. 8)
  18. i have an early style one mate...as i have a 1991 16v. But a towing eye accident has left a dent under the drivers side indicator/fog section. I'm after a replacement in the summer (june/july time i hope)...so just wondered how cheap it would be to bring a US spec bumper over...am i right in saying they have no front licsence plate recess...they have side markers and indicators/fogs are flush fit like later style euro bumpers? I'm sorry if i'm wasting your time as i dont have money to buy just yet...but if i have an idea of cost involved, then perhaps i'll save up and buy from yourself instead of buying one from here for £50. Who would i use to send a bumper to the states then?? parcelforce? DHL?? UPS?? Cheers Buddha. Sanjay :D
  19. would you be able to get a US spec front bumper?? if so..how much would it be with delivery too please.
  20. calm down VR6...the guys must be a little miffed after they left without calling pitstop...i'm pretty sure if they contacted steve now they'll be ok. Must be a phone problem...can't be them ignoring you...after all its all business and reputation they have to think about...don't want a Jabbasport rep happening after all, these guys have superchargers constantly on their brains...they care about the cars not just about the money...i think you need to speak to em mate to put your mind at rest.
  21. i think a communication error must of happened...steves not likely to mess anyone about, not that i know him..but he's very well known on porka.net as i used to own a polo mk4 before this...as for darren (G-werks)..hes more well known on here as he mainly deals with the corrado side of things...I'm sure they'll sort you out mate.
  22. aren't they both sharing the same space anyway? i always thought so... :?:
  23. did mine about 2months ago... Answers: How much for brand new ones? buy it from German French Swedish...they come with or without bushes..and are around the £32 mark. Wheres the cheapest place for OEM wishbones? i wonder if GPC in luton can get genuine ones....but it doesn't make a difference. Call them on: (01582) 728892 Are they available separately? Yes, but i think left and right can be the same, just turned round thats all. Can you buy them without bushes? (got powerflex) i'm pretty sure you can...theres a GSF in: Bradford-UNIT 4,MITRE COURT,CUTLER HEIGHTS LANE. (01274) 652020 Sheffield- UNIT 1/2,THE VALLEY WORKS, GREENLAND ROAD. (0114) 2617888 theres also units in north and south manchester. If postage is a problem with them...i dont mind lending a hand mate. Sanjay.
  24. i have that too... i think it sends a mild surge of current into the clocks when you do it...must be a wiring error someplace. Mine does it when i flick the wipers on...then contstantly everytime the wiper lifts up. :| Someone elses (BigG60-andy's) corrado constantly twitches while engine is on idle...wierd. Sanjay.
  25. its not like the pitstop guys to be like that...beavis?? I'm sure they have a genuine explanation for what happened. Sanj.
