to add to this problem... I seem to get "error 303/304"- hardlock not present...i've got both version 5.03 and 6.03...and the crack for 5.03 has been run and 6.03 has been installed over it. What do you do then? LHD-G60- what i did with that one was just set the screen res to what its asking and then re-run the installer...it'll run fine then. But you may get the problem above, after it.
  2. you have 5 and a qaurter in the doors....6x4" in the rear...and 4" in the dash with one centre 1-2" speaker. Be careful with rears as i realised my MB Qaurt 6x4's have a hefty magnet which means i had to cut away the bottom of the shelf support things which held the OE speaker in place.
  3. and the back seats?? i've tried pulling the drivers side bench upwards, but it seems stuck. Is it bolted down? Is it easy to remove the lower shelving from the dash?
  4. DB Car trim is just as good...theyre based in Blackpool i believe. http://www.dbcartrim.co.uk/ :D there must be plenty more...but i don't know any off the top of my head apart from them.
  5. i was lookin through PVW today and noticed 'Big Boys Toys' selling 'FLAME THROWER MAG X2 leads' these come in red/yellow/blue or black. 8mm silicone containing spiral wound stainless steel core with dual spark paths. OE style ends too. 8v, ALL= £39.95 16v, ALL= £74. VR6= £84.50. all prices inc. VAT! sounds good to me...what do you guys think? If the leads didn't help the engine at all...then they wouldn't charge so much for them. I understand the standard ones will do the job good enough...but if you've got money to spend on the look of the engine bay, these leads look better i think.
  6. ok..i guess i'll ave to wait and buy some 2nd hand leads from someone... Bally- its £125 or thereabouts for some so called performance leads...not some aftermarket replacements from GSF or VAG...i'm talkin magnecor, or twin spark...luminition or mega leads. I've looked everywhere...and cheapest is the megaleads i think at £112 or so.
  7. if you use autosol metal polish on em...it makes them really shiny after it...makes em look real factory style. The tint spray is well dodgy...i tried it on my polo, you have to be careful how many coats you give...and in some places if you haven't de-greased it properly...it'll cause a misty white patch. Very good job james!
  8. will the vr ones not fit then? if they all use the same resistance...are the plugs 'that' hard to get into my block.
  9. all a bit confusing in my earlier post steve..but what i meant was: I don't understand why the 16v ones are more expensive??? (TALKING ABOUT BLUE IGNITORS,MAGNECOR,LUMINITION..YOU NAME IT... ) do the STANDARD VR6 leads match the resistance specs of each lead compared to the STANDARD 16v leads?
  10. yeah i've checked: part code: ILSBI16V For All 16 valve models= £125.00 does anyone know the difference in resistence of each lead of each engine? should be in a haynes manual/bentley manual for the engines... if the VR6 leads are similar to the 16v leads figures...i could just buy VR ones. Still don't understand why theyre more bux for my sized engine...when VR's and G60's are blatently more powerful and would probably be able to make use of the change in leads. :?
  11. i don't understand why the 16v ones are more expensive??? do the VR6 leads match the resistance specs of each lead compared to the 16v leads? Standard ones i mean...if they do then i'm just better off paying less and buying VR ones.
  12. it took me about 2days work of spare time to do it...approx.4-5hrs. You have 3 electric window switchs, 1 sunroof switch to do...which require changing the 3mm LED's from green to whatever colour. And a resisitor to match in case they can only take about 4-5V. Then you have the dash switches: 1x fog light switch, 1x rear heated screen switch, 1x headlamp switcher. Those above have BULBS and tiny green plastic filters in the rocker part of the switch. I resoldered blue led's and resitors in them too...or you could just put cover on the bulbs. But theyre only 1.2v bulbs (so the filter might dim the bulb more...which means you'll have to uprate the bulb to 1.5v ones!) THE SPOILER SWITCH DOES NOT LIGHT UP...so don't remove it, cos its hard to get back in. then the clocks- 5 bulb holders in total mate...and green filters behind the LCD screens and one long green filter at the top lit up by 3 of the bulbs. I myself took the time to resolder tiny bright blue LEDs with inline resistors into the bulb holders, put red 12V LED's in the bulb holders behind the screens. To be honest, the switches are MUCH brighter and the clock pod is very much like Dubsters! Good luck. Sanj.
  13. maybe the gear plastic surround in CF too...or the dial plastic surround...the plastic in front of the clock pod i mean.
  14. i thought blue ignitors were over £100! last i saw they retailed at about £120... How much for the 16v engine ones?? £60 is good for me!
  15. i'll probably leave about 7...not sure yet..depends when i get my arse into gear. :?
  16. Godskitchen AKA PAUL...come on son lets get you down too... Leew, antVR6 and vr6powered...akacheesy...jimbob1970, and also jims16v. these are just a few close enough to milton keynes...anyone willing to travel from leicester, birmingham or warickshire...please feel free to turn up. PM me and i'll be more than happy to give u my number...or PM bally too. all are welcome like bally said...
  17. Chris VR6nos- cheers mate!! its good to see someone complementing it. I thought i'd check this thread to see if anyone has placed a link or two to their gallery... come on..someone must of uploaded the 100's of pics their digital camera held! Aposegil- come on alex..you must of taken some bud.. :)
  18. yeah..i couldn't belive it either...my brother shouted me and i came running to see that. I was gobsmacked...very good job. I wonder if the pic is online somplace...i'm sure someone must know of it.
  19. G60Renshaw where are ya mate?? your not in leeds or up north are ya? Total sweet work you've achieved mate...i still ave to go and buy PVW...will look out for it. Sanjay.
  20. mines the same..receipt shows total closure was added with the Ai606 system and i've managed to lock all doors and close windows with the key int he door lock, but i've been told the sunroof won't close due to my 16v being before 1993...which is when the newer Corrados had full total closure from door lock. Is there a gaurentee with these CAT 1 alarms from Toad? and if so..do ya think i'd have to take it to the place that fitted it, or another toad specialist. Sanj.
  21. ok lads...yeah i'm still goin up too. pauly just give us a txt and i'll meet ya mate...thinkin of gettin there early as possible as i have to leave by about 2-3pm. Bally- i'll bring the dash blanks along mate. James- cya ya there too mate.
  22. that car looks very familiar...you wasn't over in northants at Jamsport was you? i've seen an exact yellow Corrado with the same wheels...but plate read 'B0X3R' Very nice work! 8)
  23. thanks guys...good to know its ok to drive at a slower speed. The drive shaft isn't bent at all...already span the disc around while wheel was off and watched if it was. I just needed to know, incase i get more problems from driving it before a mechanic looks at it properly. Its booked in for monday, so should be able to get it all fixed and new on monday. Thanks again! Sanj.
  24. thats real bad news mark... I feel for you dude. I think try to get as much as you can for your damage and as well as that, why not break your corrado for parts for others?? then sell anything left and start from scratch mate..this time with an even better one...upto you, but either way its a real bad hassle and its a shame to be honest. Someone else on the forum had damage just like yours!! try the bodyshop he used...cos his rear arch was smashed in like yours and they knocked it out like new! Good luck mate...i'm on msn, so you can cry to me if ya want geezer. Sanj. :(
