  1. As above, classic thermostat symptoms.
  2. Nuts. I was really looking forward to this but I've just realised I'll be in Norfolk with the kids. I doubt I can make it. There's an outside chance I might be able to turn up with the kids in the Golf but I doubt it.
  3. Ok I want a nugget g60 now lol. But a serious question: where can you get a GLader rebuilt nowadays?
  4. I have a vr6 but if I were buying again I think I would seriously consider the g60 instead. That may be partly due to having "done" the vr6 thing but mainly due to the rarity of the g60. Speed really isn't a deciding factor for me now. They are all old, slower cars, compared to modern family hatches now anyway. But rarity can't be underestimated.
  5. First off a chromebook is great for anything Web based like browsing but not useful for more intensive work. I have a MacBook pro 13 and love it. The build quality is far above other laptops and the quality of the screen, keyboard and especially the trackpad, is also far superior to most laptops although since of the higher end ones are catching upin this respect. They are also inherently less susceptible to viruses... Although not totally immune as most people thing they are (they address still vulnerable to browser trojans and other security bugs such as in java). Another downside for some is osx itself. I use windows a lot for work so switching to osx sometimes leaves mess a little frustrated with the slight differences... E.g. different keys for some functions and menus always at the too of the screen rather than on the application itself. However overall I think they are superb and generally one of the best laptops you can get. The major downside of course is the price. But they hold their value when reselling then and you can minimise the initial cost by either buying used, our via the HE scheme (higher education) if you apply, or simply buying from apples refurbished outlet: http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/specialdeals/mac

    new,,

Welcome. They are great, aren't they :)
  7. If it was warmer then I might. But sadly it's a little too cold to be walking around a show. I went to the Pistonheads Sunday Service at Silverstone a few weeks ago and it was damn cold.
  8. Looking at the video again I'm sure the car that causes it on the other side of the road hits a motorcyclist just before hitting the lamp post.
  9. Wow, lucky driver... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-21960295
  10. Welcome. I'm afraid I can't answer the question but it might be worth asking in the engine forum.

    steering wheel!

I've tried a few and was never happy until I put OEM on there. OEM for the win :)

    Abs

There should be an abs light on the dashboard by the fog light switch in the middle. But regardless, yes a 1995 Corrado would have had abs when it left the factory.
  20. Welcome from a fellow surrey owner.
  21. Well if you can learn some bodywork stuff then it will be a really good learning project. Even if you end up paying a bodyshop you should end up with a great car when it's all done :)
  22. Welcome back to the fold. If I'm honest I would have walked away from that one but looking forward to seeing your plans.
  23. Yes... ZX80 was the first Sinclair computer (white and bought in kit form that you assembled). This was followed by the pre-assembled black ZX81. Both of these machines displayed black and quite only and ghad about 1k of memory I believe. Sinclair them followed these up with the 16k spectrum and later the 48k spectrum (both colour). ...and for the sake of reviving old school arguments about which was better the VIC20 and Commodore 64 were superior to the Sinclair stuff :) :thumbleft: :D  ---------- Post added at 6:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:03 PM ---------- Sorry for the terrible spelling above... Phone predictive text and editing disaster.
