I must admit that if I were looking now I'd seriously consider a G60 due to the rarity and the fact that the engine is interesting and tunable.

Bristol Volksfest 7-8-9th June

Hold on, camp dancing to Erasure? Why did no-one tell me? I may have to seriously consider it. Can't beat a bit of 80's cheese  Hmmm. Stonor Park or this? They are on consecutive weekends. [video=youtube_share;s0PEF4Zqlvs] -
Very common issue. Most likely to be a faulty motor (simple to replace but motor no longer available so need to find a used one) or a broken slider mechanism in the sunroof itself (repair kit available from dealers but a little more tricky to fit). It could be the switch but that is the least likely. Or a fuse of course. Ask him if it opens when using the manual override. If it does then its the motor. If it doesn't then it's a broken mechanism. I believe the manual override is underneath the trim where the switches and lights are.

What do you use to keep your engine bay plastic black ?

Ooh a nugget. That looks quite nice. I'm not keen on the black wheels, eyebrow and badgeless grille but that's just personal preference and the next person may love them (easily changed anyway). The reason a car without an MOT sells for less than one with an MOT is because it could fail on all sorts of things and cost a fortune to put right. Personally I'd be looking at sub £1k without and MOT. But... I really couldn't live with the bonnet scoop. So if you feel the same way then you'd need to budget for finding a spare used early bonnet and respraying it. It seems a reasonable price if it had an MOT but allow for a potential bonnet change and wait for others opinions on here as I'm not really a G60 man. I'd also be wanting to know a lot more about the "Dozens of receipts, including bills from Jaba Sports for Super Charger maintenance, and previous MOTs etc." before travelling from High Wycombe to Leicestershire. It's a long way to go if the documentation doesn't materialise. I'd also be asking for a close up of the drivers seat bolster as it's hard to tell from the picture exactly how much wear there is.

Whats wrong with peoples driving these days. Rant.
Portent replied to VWVW's topic in General Car Chat
I've seen a real drop in people's driving ability over the last few years. It's atrocious now. -
Sounds possibly better although sat not moving for 3 years is not necessarily a plus point as parts still rot without being used. It's hard to tell with no link to an advert. It might be worth posting up a link and people can give an opinion on both the car and the price. Keep in mind that with no MOT you should adjust price accordingly or, if you like the car, then ask him to get it MOT'd.

Not the one I was thinking of :) Knew I recognised the plate though :)
-
If that's the car I think it is then it's a G60 previously owned on here. It used to be black (as in the pic) but more recently it was resprayed a BMW frosted silver colour.

Got a link? I don't usually do facebook.

VR6 Lee - Corrado VR6 Storm Mystic Blue Build thread
Portent replied to VR6 Lee's topic in Members Gallery
No it doesn't. It's solid plastic. -
Mine arrived today. Thanks. For some reason I expected a plastic badge about credit card sized but it's actually quite small and metal, which I like. It's more subtle than I expected :thumbleft:

Another forum member changed mine but they (there are two) should be on the upper oil filter housing I think. There will be wires going into them obviously. Also I believe they need locktight or ptfe tape on the threads to stop then leaking (someone more knowledgeable than me can advise). It may not be the source but it can be common.

Is the boot carpet for the full sized spare wheel or space saver? -
Welcome :) Any more details on it?

Take a look around the oil pressure sensor. I've seen a few leaks there and that was the cause of mine.

I agree with that. It drives me nuts finding anything in a Bentley. But once I've found the page it seems far more logical than a Haynes. Just give me a diagram of how it fits together and I should be able to work it out. I've only ever owned one Haynes (for a mk4 Golf) and it confused the hell out of me.
