Appreciate this thread is a couple of months old. But I just got my mats from my local VAG dealer and they look different to the picture on the veedubmachine site. The veedubmachine pics have the Corrado in the lower middle of the mat, But the VW items have the logo in a similar place but not central; the drivers mat has it closer to the right and the passengers is closer to the left. Sorry can't get any pics at the moment but thought it worth pointing out. To be honest I prefer the veedubmachine location for looks even though I'd thought they were identical items.

Please help my 76yr old dads pride and joy run smooth again!!!

Mine did similar until I realised that the earth clamp on the battery was loose. It hasn't done it since I tightened the clamp up. It's a long shot but worth checking them. Oh and it's probably Sherry pearl not Cherry :) -
Back in the 80's and early 90's my brother had a mk1 Scirocco Storm and then later a mk2 Scirocco Storm. They are the reasons I later had a succession of Golfs, Sciroccos and now a Corrado :)

Obviously not the sharpest tool in the box as he (1) gets back in a burning car, (2) leaves the bonnet and doors open while it's burning to give the fire a nice plentiful supply of oxygen. And... does he have enough gauges in that car????

Bye. Sad to see an "old timer" leave but good luck for the future.

If you prefer new then they are still available from the dealer for around £45ish. Can't remember exact price but that's not far off.

Looking very good indeed :thumbleft:

Haha I actually laughed out loud on the train watching it. Superb!

There was a lovely grey VR6 with black leather on here which sold within days. I think that's a symptom of the times that good stuff will go quickly but anything non-OEM will hang around a while. I had a bit of a "moment" recently. I looked around and tried to understand why I would want to have an old car. I considered selling very briefly. Then the kids persuaded me to take them out for a night drive ("No dad we want to go out in the Corrado"). Half way through the drive I parked up and with the engine still running I got out and helped the kids swap seats. Just looking at it under the street lights I realised what a lovely thing I have, even if it sits in the garage most nights. It's worth nearly nothing in monetary terms and most people would probably look on it as simply an old car. But the look, the noise, there is something that makes me smile every time I get in it. Personally I think 2012 and 2013 is the last throw of the dice. Either get a good one now or watch the good cars climb out of reach.

Sprayed a bucket load of silicone lubricant between the steering wheen and the column. I'll get rid of that darned rubbing noise if it kills me.

Welcome to probably the friendliest car forum around :) Any pics? Which model?

I don't have any real pics I'm afraid. But hopefully these pics may help a bit... http://www.ajb.nildram.co.uk/pictures/Fusebox_1.jpg http://www.ajb.nildram.co.uk/pictures/Fusebox_2.jpg http://www.ajb.nildram.co.uk/pictures/Fusebox_3.jpg

A bit far for me but might just be tempted to make it a bit of a weekend away. -
There's no point to this thread really. I'm not intending to put a 24v into the Corrado and I'm certainly not looking to sell an engine. But I was just wondering how much the engine in my mk4 4mo is worth. My 2003 4mo is probably not worth much. Maybe around 3k I guess. But it has a superb condition 24v engine with about 58k mileage, full VAG service history and known history (I bought the car from a dealer when it was only 6 months old where it was a demonstrator. so apart from VAG themselves I'm the only owner). It occurred to me that the engine is probably the most valuable part in it. So hypothetically how much would such an engine sell for?

They can't be that rare. I went to my local VW dealer today and ordered some carpets for the Corrado and the guy said he'd only just sold a set the previous week. I was gob smacked. I'm going to have to find something less common to drive lol.

I had exactly the same when I had a Momo on. It was fitted by the previous owner and I hadn't realised it could be fixed by simply adjusting the boss either. When I put an OEM wheel back on I cleaned up the mechanism and had assumed that was the reason it had been fixed. I'll keep it in mind in case I ever re-fit a Momo.

Welcome to the forum. I used to live in Pinner so not far from you at all (now in Surrey though). I love the GT6.

Yes I have a printer with a scanner on it. I need to install the drivers onto my PC but I'll try to do that in the next couple of days and upload it somewhere.

If they weren't rare I probably wouldn't have one and I certainly wouldn't be spending money on improving it. I love the fact that they are special and look completely different to anything else on the road.

This arrived in the post yesterday: I'm not sure if they can supply any extra copies for the people that donated. But if anyone is desperate for one then I'm happy to ask them.

Welcome. For the alternator take a look in the Cars For Breaking section of this forum as there are a couple of people breaking 16v's. They may have an alternator too. The oil leak might be the oil pressure switch (that's a common leak and simple to fix on a VR... not sure about on a valver but probably common on that too). Does the spoiler go up and down on the switch under the dash even if it doesn't at speed?

I've seen a few pics of these in Corrados and really like them as an alternative to OEM. I may try one.
