  1. Lookng great. I wish people would stop getting resprays as it's giving me bad ideas of spending money :) Group buy anyone :D
  2. ^^ Good spot with the Surbiton stickers. I just did a quick google and Ashley John apparently used to be a dealer in Portsmouth Road which runs between Kingston and Surbiton. That is 10 mins drive from my house and I drive down that road most weekends. I don't suppose you live mnear here duncgti?
  3. Two lovely cars there. Can't beat a silver Corrado :)
  4. Are the following any good? I like Alpine myself although I still have a Pioneer in the car as that's what it came with: Looks A Bit Retro http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-cde-111r.html http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-cde-9880r.html Not So Retro http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-ida-x311.html Also this looks quite nice but I don't know the model number: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=20848737&postcount=58
  5. Welcome. I also can't help with the starting issue but wish you good luck. There are some very knowledgable people on here so I'm confident it will get sorted with their advice. It's a lovely colour combination and it's had an interior swap at some point. Cars with cream leather normally have cream carpets and a cream gearstick gaiter. I do like the combination in yours though and it looks like the cream came from a Storm judging by the red badge.
  6. Thanks. I will take a look. I've literally just replaced my OEM wipers though.

    Afternoon

Welcome. Not too far from me either :)
  8. If you're restoring them then, by most accounts, it's not much more effort to recolour them to black.

Look lovely. Nice and rare in grey too. Merry Christmas :)
  10. Lovely interior. There's just something special about the Recaro's that lifts the cabin. Looks great and definitely worth the cut hands. Merry Christmas :)
  11. I drove from Surrey to Norfolk and back again to see my family. And changed the oil while at my brothers . Currently having a coffee break at South Mimms service station on the M25 on the way back. For most of the trip I got bored with the radio so just switched it off and listened to the engine. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and it's good to give it a nice long run once in a while, especially on the lovely roads up there. I expect I will be washing her tomorrow :)
  12. Merry Christmas all. Hope to see many of you at various shows in 2012 :)
  13. I can see hellokarl69's point. Yes it's cheaper and easier to get an R32 as a starting point. But if you take that argument then you may as well buy something more modern instead of a Corrado even if you don't plan on modding it. I drive a Corrado as second car purely because it is a Corrado. I could easily have spend the same money on something else and got a 'better' car. But I wanted a Corrado. What hellokarl69 wants is a Corrado with AWD and a charged R32. And I can understand that. A charged R32 will always be an R32 and not a Corrado. Although I do have to add that I wouldn't spend that kind of money on it even if I had it :)
  14. Following on from my group buy feeler thread, there appears to enough potential support for a group buy of a piece of Brooklands track. To raise funds and continue with maintaining the track and museum, Brooklands offer the chance to sponsor a square yard of track on the remaining bank. Prices depend on the location of the sponsored yard but are £95, £125 or £150. In return the sponsor gets their name on the Brooklands website as the 'owner' of that piece of track. As far as I'm aware there are no other perks of doing this so please don't expect free entry or such like. http://www.bankingonbrooklands.org.uk/track.html Why Do This? 1) It supports some British motor sport heritage. 2) It promotes the Corrado name. 3) Some of us may have considered it in the past but not been willing to spend £95 to £150. 4) You don't get anything for doing this. You won't get free entry into Brooklands for example. It's purely a donation to help Brooklands. How Much Will It Cost? The group buy will cost each person £10 (unless they want to donate more of course). If we don't get enough money then I'll make a decision on whether to donate more money myself. Plots cost £95, £125 or £150 depending on where they are located. Unused money will be refunded. Which Plot Will We Buy? Unless anyone has a strong preference then I'll just pick a random one within the price range we can afford. The Name Used When you donate as an individual you get to put your name on there and it is displayed on the BankingOnBrooklands website. However we obviously don't want to use my name in the group buy. So I have checked with the fund raising department of Brooklands and we can choose whatever we want as a team name instead. I have asked CCGB if they want to be involved too. They need to consider it as it is obviously run as a commitee. So the team name we use will depend on their involvement. If CCBG are involved then I propose "the-corrado.net forum -and- Corrado Club GB" If CCGB are not involved then I propose simply "the-corrado.net forum" Are The-Corrado.net Ok with this? Andi has confirmed he's ok with this. What Happens Now? A number of people have already expressed an interest in the group buy feeler thread (listed below). Over the next few days I'll drop a PM to them. Please reply to let me know if you are still interested. Or reply here instead if you see this before I PM you. Anyone else who is interested please also reply here. I propose a "closing date" of Sunday 1st January which gives us 2 weeks to confirm who is interested. After the closing date I'll PM people with my bank account details for transfer of money (may be able to do paypal too but I rarely use it so would prefer bank transfer). If people pull out after this point and we don't get enough money then I'll obviously refund everyone else in full. 15. Quite close to mine: * Fit the engine mounts that I bought last year and didn't get fitted (brother was going to help me but my plans went out the window when I was ill). * Replace the aux belt. It looks fine but it's making a bit of noise so when the weathers warmer I'll pop a new one on. * Tidy up some bodywork (scared to start it as I plan to just do a couple of bits such as tidy up the front bumper but I just know I'll end up tempted to spend thousands getting it perfect :)) * Maybe refurb the speedlines that I have sitting in the garage (love the wheels currently on it but feel I should get the speedies back into shape too) * Fabricate a better sub and amp enclosure to fit the rear boot side recesses. This will allow me to reclain the boot space which currently has a massive sub taking up 95% of the space. I'd like a smaller sub in the left or right recess.
  16. I get it frequently from my phone (android, so also on chrome). Very annoying.

Just bought some g12 from the dealer myself. They recommended 2 1ltr bottles as mentioned above. Not used it yet though.
  18. Bear in mind that as soon as you let your insurance know they will hike your premium. This will be the case even if they recover the full amount from the neighbours because statistically you're a higher risk.
  19. I would still take them to the small claims court to recover your excess and to make their life as inconvenient as possible. It's only around £35 I think (may have gone up a bit). I took a cyclist to court once and they settled a week before the court date.
  20. Spotted in W.H. Smith... white G60 'barn find' featured in Performance VW. Anyone on here?
  21. I happened to get chatting casually to my new boss yesterday about the Corrado and he suddenly commented "Oh very nice. Is it the supercharged one?" and started recanting a story of his friend owning one back in the days they were new. Apparently he really liked it and often used to borrow it as it was such great fun and so quick (for the time).
  22. It's a good plan B if you really can't find early parts but personally I'd try to get the originals. I hate to admit it as a VR6 owner but I personally prefer the slightly sleeker bonnet of the early models :)
  23. There's a 50/50 chance I'll be bringing my 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son. I'll know nearer the time. They loved running up and down the bank last time I went there, and they also have a real affection for the Corrado. So it's a good combination :) They know how much I love the car so it would be great to get a picture of the kids standing next to it on the banks fo the track. That will be a lovely photo for them to look back on one day when I've shuffled off this mortal coil and they've grown up. There's a lot for them to see there. Assuming everything will be open as normal they have several old racing cars (including an older F1 car that they let my kids sit in last time), an F1 simulator (just a car with a video screen stuck on the front, but still good fun) and loads of aircraft there too which you can wander around inside (mostly some older small passenger jets or cargo planes). They have one of the Concordes there which, for an extra fee, you can have a tour of (Brooklands actually manufactured many of the parts for Concorde). They also have a museum shop with lots of car and aircraft related toys for the kids to buy (a touch expensive just like most museum shops). A couple of other attractions are an old workshop with the remnants of a wind tunnel (the kids will probably find that one boring though) and a hanger with old aircraft including a couple of models of WW1 and WW2 planes. It's quite a mix there but there should be enough to keep the kids entertained. There's also Mercedes Benz World next door and just around the corner is an M&S and Tesco's. And, if like me you insist on only Shell VPower, there's a Shell garage a couple of mins away. I'm really looking forward to this one and it's a good example of why the CCGB is still very much relevant and worth being a member of (I'm following on from a recent discussion on CCGB with that comment).
