Just a quick note to say the VR6 went through it's MOT and service with no problems at all :cheers:. Had only done about 2k miles this last 12 months so wasn't expecting any problems but you never know.

So, bike fans, what are the pros and cons of turbo trainers versus rollers for getting exercise on your bike without going out. I can see rollers are a bit tricky to master (see here - ) Turbos need you to replace the rear spindle and fix into the trainer? What else do I need to know?

They have got signs up but they are very small. A pensioner appealed and was let off http://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway_messenger/news/2012/september/14/bus_fine.aspx but apparently they get 90 people per day! Council say there are plenty of signs including one saying (somewhere) that the road layout has changed and not to follow sat nav. If you are new to the area that doesn't help much. At the end of the day it is up to me to make sure I am a safe driver and obey the rules of the road but this is really annoying! Suspect I just need to pay up.

Had to visit a client site last week, whacked in the post code to Tom Tom and off I went. Got to Rochester / Chatham area and it took me through a wiggly route and what looked like a big open plan bus garage. I couldn't see any signs telling me not to be there but today I got two penalty notices (I went twice). It seems this was a fairly recent change to the use of the road. If I pay quickly it's £30 each, if I take my time it will go up to £60 each. Should I just pay up or is it worth pleading with them? I suspect I will get no sympathy!

800th post After 7 weeks of virtually no driving due to a broken hand and therefore not playing hockey at the weekends I had a COMPLETELY flat battery so had to give it a LOOOOOONG charge up. Then this week I had to do two days in Chatham, so 50 miles each way on the M25 / M26 / M20 in sub zero temps and fog. The car coped very well indeed! Took it out in the snow to collect my new bike yesterday with no dramas! That's all folks!

Giant Defy 5 2013 model through the Giant Online click and collect assembled by a local bike shop for £499 - picking it up any day now. Radiators next Leather interior has to wait a little longer

If I was in the market it would be this one!

I may have to buy the rads to keep the family happy and warm and the cycle to work is not an option as the company want to consider benefits as a whole package - damn! So it's to the straight purchase which is annoying but there we are. I will have to think a bit and reduce general frivolous outgoings.

My company do not do the cycle to work scheme - I might look into getting them to set it up as the savings are, as you say, significant. In fact I will have a look at getting us registered on the scheme!

I have radiators in the house already but they are old and not very hot compared to the couple I have already replaced I have a decent condition cloth interior I have a very old cheap mountain bike but am keen to do a bit of road cycling In theory I can manage without all these upgrades . . . .

As I continue to flip flop between thoughts of selling the VR6 or putting more money and effort into it . . . . I have seen a complete Storm interior incream leather. Carpets, headlining and everything. Are there any major issues in removing / replacing an interior?
