1. I'll get me a Dremel, they look like fun! Thanks all!
2. Thanks - very kind. I think slow and steady with a hack saw may suit my style better. You can go wrong fast with a powered tool
3. Evening all I will shortly be getting my short shifter and have read that using a Dremel will help me with the cutting. Now, I am not exactly a DIY expert and have managed for many years without a Dremel. My dad who have almost every tool under the sun hasn't got one either. So here's the naive question - do I need a Dremel (other makes are available) or can I get a bit with a cutting disk for my cordless drill? Or is the thing about the Dremel that it is small and has much higher RPM than a drill. Thanks
4. Might well be the same company behind the scenes or simply using the same online business engine product behind the website.
5. That might just be the browser auto complete?
6. Spent lots of money with DG Autotech and ben very happy with them.
7. Today I did 40 miles round trip through town, cross country, average speed 20, mpg 27 plus 140 mile round trip on M25 and fast a roads, average speed 61 and 35 mpg. Not bad for a VR6 but to be fair she has just been serviced.
8. Stick me on the list for one of these please. Not in a desperate rush but if I could get one by the Easter weekend? That would give me four days to curse and swear and skin my knuckles etc.
9. I know what you mean - going from the R32 back to the Corrado is the same and as for the brakes . . . . the R32 is like hitting a brick wall!
10. It was hard to notice from inside the car but my parents told me a couple of times that there was a "rattling" noisy when I pulled away. Then Dave at DG Autotech said he heard a nasty noisy and that was it really.
11. My VR made a noise in first gear which was caused by this Reverse idler gear selector spring was broken and allowing the gear to 'rattle' against the main shaft gear. The gear box was removed by DG and they did chains, clutch etc etc whilst the bloke next door rebuit the gearbox. Good value for the labour getting two big jobs done at the same time. But I understand it's a good 2 to 3 hours in and out to get to it.
12. I know how you feel! Busted my collar bone a few years ago as a result of coming off my motorbike. Get well soon and enjoy the codeine!
13. Can I have first refusal on Bonnet - £50 Drivers wing - £30 Front bumper - £30 Pending photos and logistics for collection. Thanks
14. Interested in the front bumper, drivers front wing and bonnet - pics and prices please.
15. Looking good, but then I like red. Might have to paint my brake calipers . . .
16. What is the compatibility of panels between a late spec 8 valve and a 1993 VR6 please? Might be interested in wings, front bumper and bonnet but unsure if they are the same.
17. MOT Day today and it's a pass! Hurray! and on the way this happened 80,000 on the clock !
18. The problem is I am a klutz with things mechanical. Am I right in saying you have to cut out this bit of metal so you can remove and refit from above (in the car) rather than underneath?
19. D'oh !! Was looking like a possible until you said that!
20. Ah I see it now. I occassionally frequent that site as the wife has an R32 MK5 and am always thinking about chopping my VR6 in for a 3 door R32. The Corrado is a bit too old for me really as I am not handy with the tools. Looks like a good example.
21. Dunno about here but www.r32oc.com is a pretty popular site for that kind of thing.
22. TT - Closer to the edge - great documentary about extremely fast bikers. Guy Martin is a legend. Absolutely rivetting, real heart in mouth stuff. a must for anyone interested in bikes or motorsport. 8/10
23. Got Bilstein B4s all around and want to replace the springs as they are 18 years old now. I'd like a small drop, 25 mm perhaps?, and to crispen up the handling. Suggestions please?
