Looking for some winter wheels and tyres for the wifes beamer - 2005 320 Ci M Sport convertible :camp: - in an attempt to keep her out of my :censored: car but still on the road. I have been told that I shouldn't go any smaller that a 17 inch wheel on this car. This by a bloke trying to sell me some wheels. Does anyone out there in Corrado land know if this is the case? Thanks in advance :salute:

Errr yes Jon , we know . Black is so dull that even the MARKETING people couldn't think of another word to jazz it up!

Nine - musical with Daniel Day Lewis as a 60s Italian film director who has an eye for the ladies. A bit arty and self indulgent but a great cast of very attractive ladies (Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Fergie, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotilard and for the senior gentleman, Dame Judy Dench and Sofia Loren) doing song and dance numbers in their undies, well apart from Dame Judy and Sofia Loren. Personally I'd give it 4/10

4x4s were getting bored of queues yesterday in Surrey and were taking to the pavements. :cuckoo: One managed to total a letter box. :epicfail:

Black cars take a lot of cleaning as you well know mate! There were 44 Tornado Red ones made - chances of finding one of them?

The wife managed to thump a kerb in her rag top beamer causing the rear headrests emergency roll over hoop things to deploy with a heck of a bang. Scared her and my daughter to death! Car is drivable but making "funny noises " on the brakes. I sense another bill coming. Should have got rid in the summer and gone R32 Golf!

Sorely tempted by something like thishttp://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201046373252742/sort/priceasc/usedcars/engine-size-cars/3l_to_3-9l/transmission/manual/price-to/9000/price-from/5000/maximum-age/up_to_7_years_old/quantity-of-doors/5/model/a3/make/audi/keywords/a3%203.2%20v6%20/page/1/postcode/kt212hr/radius/1500?logcode=p

And as long as it's a blue one you fancy you are laughing!

Right - I get it now - a 3.2 litre quattro that isn't an S3, fair few of them about. Four wheel drive would be a great thing to have.

I clearly need to poke around the Audi range a bit more to find out the best mix. I must admit having looked at the R32 forum there are lots of extremely good examples around and coming from a VW family I'm sorely tempted. But it's her choice. As far as M3s or 535s, they are great motors but she has had three 3 series already (all convertibles) and wants something different and not as big as a 5 series. If we were after a big car I'd be looking at an Avant quattro probably but we don't need the size.

As Mrs 4 eyes has had her current car for over a year she is starting to talk about changing it, this is fairly typical behaviour. She is after something "practical yet sporty". Most of the time it's just her and our daughter pottling around, sometimes three of us on shortish journeys and occassionaly 4 up when she takes her folks out. By practical we are talking about a hatch back to get a few bags in, not a huge estate. Sporty means something with a bit of go in it and 4 wheel drive would be a nice bonus. This has made me think Audi S3 or Golf R32. Budget would be in the region of £8 - 9k. What do you good people think? Are they very different propositions? Am I opening up a world of financial pain (in a Corrado style) by getting such a high spec but aging car?

Had a broken spring in the gear box so when the car was in bits to resolve that I had the chains done to take advantage of the fact it was in bits. This was at about 73000. There was wear on the guides I think. My good friends at DG provided me with this service.

Excellent - another convert!

It's not all bad though "Best family and compact executive: Volkswagen Passat CC"

Mine is known as The Flying Tomato

My point exactly :brickwall: Not many cars compare favourably with yours Digger!

Shame there isn't a check engine light, although if my experience of the ABS warning light is anything to go by it would be on 99% of the time!
-
Mine also had an intermittent misfire at the same time as the above problem. Both of those things fixed in the same afternoon made a HUGE difference and confirmed I have bought the right car after all!

As kevhaywire says "The most common killer of torque on this engine is a dead £40 cam sensor, but most people are oblvious to it as the engine drives OK without it, just uses a lot of fuel and feels slower than normal.....but being new to them, you don't know what normal is yet." I had exactly this happen to me - an experienced VR6 driver said "this is a bit down on power" having driven it for about 15 yards. VAGCOM scan confirmed the fault, new sensor and another 40 odd bhp are available.

I'll have one please.
