bump -
Are these any good. Pic taken when I had mine replaced. I bought a genuine one from TPS a while back and they did it on an exchange basis. Not sure if VW dealership will do the same worth a try.

Seriously though you should offer a "heater matrix change service" :) Nice to hear you got it all going. Not the best of season to be doing it in due to the cold.

Bump on remainder item for sale..ono

Instead of mole grips have you tried with the proper size socket. I think its 36mm. It maybe just enough just to loosen and the rest hopefully you can unwind by hand. As you have drained off the old oil you might as well change the oil filter at the same time as the filter would still be holding some dirty oil.
-
Glad you got it ok :)

Also check the foliage cover - the square grid box cover in your 1st picture...Water could be coming in from there as their is also a rubber gasket in there that can perish.

PM on its way - Thanks

I have got a genuine VAG second hand one I purchased from here a few months back (Rubber enclosing metal type)...I believe it was replaced with the new VR6 sump...But the VR6 sump got damaged so was taken off it...Its in great condition as a result...will take a pic for you later if interested £15 posted.

Bump for last remaining bits...

I think it will be just as good if you did the service yourself and keep a log of when the service was done and the receipt of the Parts purchased. It will save yourself lots on labour charge..Obviously MOT will need to be done at a MOT station no escaping that :)

Ive always taken the reading with with the orange funnel guide in place. Sorry never had that orange funnel on my late vr...I got mixed up with a mk3 golf GTi which did.

I think the bog standard NGK ones are good. See this thread below http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=51329&highlight=ngk+spark+plug+service+parts

Same parts different suppliers. Who should i use !?!
VWVW replied to feeenix14's topic in Drivetrain
If you don't want the hassle and ensure everything fit as they should with quality then Dealer parts is your best bet unless you can source the same original genuine dealer parts being sold on ebay. If your buying lots of parts at once try and get a discount from your VW dealer or if you have a local TPS. See if they will sell you the parts directly. Normally reserved for the trade. TPS are suppliers to VW. SKF bearing you can get from ebay think they are OEM supplier to VW so same part. This link may help you with part numbers with nice diagrams from previous post in the past http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=49295&highlight=sharing+parts+catalogue+pdf -
just wondered...where in the website is their email address ? cheers

Cover up any vunerable electrical parts with plastic bag as best as you can then spray some Autoglym engine cleaner/degreaser on the oil. Then host it down in manageable sections with a trough to collect the oil and water. Do you still need the 2x oil cooler pipes I have some for sale for the vr6.
