is it the disk shape part thats split or the actual small pipes. if its just the disk shape part you can just buy that part off the VW sharan vr6 instead of asking for the part from the corrado. That disk part was around £27 pounds 2 years ago.

n3p I remember seeing you on the way out in Stanford hall. Mine Green storm too near the round about...Have you thought about putting a wanted add for a Vr6 Turbo. I think I will just go and buy a good one rather than converting my one if it was me. I wonder if Crazy dave is sellling his...Ive been eyeing up THAT one !!! :)

You can get the aerial gasket from ebay only a few quid. or buy one with the aerial base and it will come with the gasket probably best as the original would be discoloured by now. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Beetles-Golf-Passat-Polo-Roof-Aerial-Antenna-Base-/360440835109?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item53ebf2ac25 ps...50 squid for a badge is madness !! No way I would fork that much for it...too afraid it will be nicked!

Yeb...it was the little brass arm. Gave that a clean with contact cleaner and noise was gone. Thanks all.
-
Thanks for the suggestions I will give them a try later.

Anyone had this before ?? Noticed the steering wheel recently have developed a sanding sound when I turn my steering wheel left and right.
-
You should be able to hear the auxillary water pump as soon as the key is turned to on without actually starting the car
-
Thats the plan...Yes will give it a slight sand down and rust proof and paint it up

Sump and Gasket received today cheers Rams

Just to keep the thread updated... Met up with Richard (Joby) one early sunday morning and had a two corrado convoy down to Stanford Hall. A total of 6hr round trip from North Wales. It was also the first time the corrado had been topped up with the new Shell V Power Nitorn +. On the trip computer when I arrived it had shown 37MPG. I normally get that on long jouneys anyway on the normal V Power. Collected some stainless steel Radiator L brackets from Dave16v and had them fitted today. Main reason for this was that the old ones had expanded with rust and did not want it to damage the radiator where it slotted into. I have had thoughts about selling up recently and the drive back from Stanford Hall I took the scenic A5 route home and had such a nice drive back that I am still undecided.

Yes your right Jon. Its the power steering metal pipe What was I thinking...:)
-
Out of interest can you still get the metal power steering coolant pipe that runs into and out of the front lower radiator support panel for the VR.
-
Hi Rams interested in the sump + Gasket. How much posted ?

Only managed a convoy of two with Joby(Richard) but what a journey down a total of 6hr round trip ...Great to see so many corrado again and catch up with fellow corrado enthusiast. Love this black stealthy looking period beetle. Also got the chance to test out the circular Polarise filter on the DSLR camera I had recently purchased to reduce/remove glare from shinny glass surfaces...Look at the front windscreen on the classic audi. No glares at all. Does exatcly what its suppose to do.

Nice progress...I would definately take the carpet out and give it a good wash. It will really freshen the interior up. -
Nice work...Good info on the rad...Love seeing new parts pictures

saw this on another thread post number 93 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?58542-redborbets-vr-new-suspension-arrived/page10 company called adrad in newcatle upon tyne
-
Its suprisingly quiet on normal drives until you boot it...will you be going to Stanford Hall? With you and your bro's corrado we could have three going down in a convoy :)
-
Just to update...The briefcase part of the original exhaust was starting to blow...This gave me the excuse to finally get my second hand Magnex exhaust fitted which I had purchased a few years back. The exhaust fitter had to fabricate a bracket to get the backbox to hang properly but they got there in the end with no knocking...Sound just as quiet as the original with no droning and a bit meater in sound when you are really pushing it. Personally I still prefer the side exit look of the original VR exhaust. Looking forward to Stanford Hall next week... Also managed to find some BBS wheel cover caps to replace my very tired looking one off ebay for £30 all in.

Hi Tom Iam miles away from you in Anglesey. I think you live close to Dave16V and LaserMark dont know if either of them is going to stanford. Payment on collection by whoever at stanford is fine unless you want to settle by papal before hand. cheers
