  1. Very nice indeed . Would love to have these in mine .
  2. Are both parts of the handbrake tunnle available ? .Black with no broken fittings ? Rob
  3. Nice work , I will be using one of the above products to remove the glue soon , as my bonnet is having some fresh paint and they are doing the underside as well .
  4. I just want to clear on something here , I did enter on this thread as "a bit off topic " and in no way suggesting that Ben wooduck is the forum member that ripped me off , when I tried to purchase a front grill . It's another forum member altogether . Rob
  5. If I came across as rude I didn't mean to be . To be honest I've never looked at the VW heritage site before , believe it or not ! . I didn't pay much attention to the prices , it was more the lack of oem items . I suppose in my nievety I was was expecting more parts , but as Jim says with the decline in numbers , there also comes a decline in parts . I can also understand what Tempest is saying about people with no responsibility however being a self employed plasterer I do know daily battles and hassle that goes with running your own business . Not that I'm suggesting the 9-5 ers all have it easy either ! Lol Rob
  6. Sounds like a good idea .
  7. Should be in the depths of the bad seller thread somewhere , the forum member posted recently and I replied saying that grill looks nice (which is what I paid for ) the comment was lost in him though ! Rob
  8. Like I said Fla , I should have pushed for a ban , but when your very new to something , it feels like a close knit sort of thing , daft I know , but you feel like your stirring up trouble when you've only been on for 5 minutes . Rob
  9. I did put it in the bad seller thread , I'm sure ? . Will have to check . It was back in 2009 -10 .I did complain at the time , but should have kept on about it . Thinking about it , yes I do remember asking how long to wait before putting in a complaint . Rob
  10. Nice one Jim .A little off topic , I was only a newbie when i paid money for something and it never arrived dispite my efforts to contact the seller .I should have kicked up more of a fuss. All i can say is every now and again he pops up on here and people praise him , for his car . That makes my temper turn in to that of a scallded rhino . To late now though . Rant over .
  11. I thought this , not a great deal on there really .
  12. If you did want grey , you are welcome to my bits , got loads in the lock up Rob
  13. They look nice in there , great with the body colour . Rob
  14. Cant find it in the manual either ?
  15. Hi Jim ,i should be in possesion of my bentley manual soon . The bit im on about is as follows . The first section of the hanbrake tunnle sits on the carpet , the second bit that sits on top is connected at the back by the armrest hump .On the front near the end where it screws onto the first section is the pic im looking for . My bottom section has a piece of plastic missing , just wondered how the two are fixed together from the factory ? Rob
  16. Can someone post a pic of the correct fitting please . My bottom section is fitted with daves handbrake solution , but the fixing point for the top section is slightly broken . I have tried to use a piece of metal similar to the headlight fixing only smaller, to join the two pieces together , but after 40 minuets of struggling to get my fingers in there and put a screw in it at the same time I gave up ! Thanks Rob
  17. I would start the diognosis with the relay , only because you said some times you can here it priming and somtimes not . Replace the relay . If you still have problems , remove the fuel line from the rail and check for fuel whilst turning the engine over , make sure you have a jam jar ready to catch the fuel , also be careful as if you have been trying to start the car there will be pressure built up in the fuel line if fuel is present , you dont want a face full of fuel !. Also check the return fuel line for fuel . You can also remove the fuel line from the pump , get a friend to turn the key for a second to see if the fuel will spurt out , again be carefull ,you only need to crank it for a second and hold a rag close to the pump to stop it going all over the boot .Its worth replacing the fuel filter for under a tenner . As said cheapest option first change the relay . Rob
  18. Well done for sticking to your guns and getting it sorted. Rob
  19. Can't see any pics mate . I bet that Athens sun is a killer on the paint work ! Rob
  20. Sorry to here of your woes . It does not look like a lot of damage to me ?.Why on earth would they not pay out on that ? . If the chassis was twisted and the rear end in a really bad way i could see the ins company not wanting to pay out , but on a small dent and bumper repair ? , not really a big deal to them surely . I hope you get this sorted . Rob
  21. I've just rang classic line and they won't do a classic policy and can't insure me because of the mods . I simply fail to understand these people and the way they conduct their quotes . How do some people get ins with mods and some don't ? . I hate insuring the car , once you have been online every tom dick n Harry is constantly ringing you wanting to give you a quote . Think I will stick with performance direct . No nonsense insurers .
  22. Auto glass were the ones who messed mine up . Their such a big company now , proberbly all on a bonas scheme , wack it in then jump in the van and into the next . I'm not saying their all rubbish fitters , but there is an obvious lack of care in some cases . If it was a nearly new Porsche or something I bet the job would be spot on , some people look at an older car and think , well it's getting on a bit it doesn't matter if it's not spot on .
