  1. hoping to get some pics up at the weekend with the compomotives on .put six months tax on her the other week [thought she should come out of hibernation early lol] first thing on saturday though she will be having the following work done . gearbox oil change , nice new shiney front bearings , all three temp senders . hope to sort the central locking problem as well . regards rob .
  2. mine has never let me down 147000 on the clock ,drives fine . ....oh god what have i just said , thats asking for trouble ,lol.
  3. me mate whom i bought mr vr from went on to buy a 32 , he agrees not as much fun as the rado , but nice having the benefits of a newer car. as for the value we were looking ar 32's the other day and he was shocked at what you can pick one up for now .
  4. thanks people , think i will stick with tps . regards rob
  5. we took an auto pedal box out with everything out the way and it was a bit of a pain to say the least !
  6. just tried to do quote online . seems they do not except mods .
  7. mmmm. ok i always do mileage restriction anyway [last year i did 450 ]. and its garaged , but i have the following , mods . alloys , pack 'a' head , superchip, induction kit , stainless exhaust , full respray . will try them and see what they come up with .thanks for info rob
  8. thanks for replies , emu whats the criteria? with footman and james , regards rob .
  9. ordered some parts today ,from tps , all the temp senders ,gearbox oil , and the front wheel bearings . the bearings are £72.00 sobs each , is it me or is that alot ? , question is i thought gsf were pattern parts ? so i dont want them as they wont last five minutes , or do they do genuine vw parts . if they do i will give them a bell in the morning for a price , advice wanted please .regards rob
  10. as above . i have phoned the usuall [ ones that advertise on here] the cheapest i got was £311.00 the other one was£550.00 and and one said we cant even get near that!. i hope that performance direct come good again , last year i paid £196.00 for the vr . i except they have gone up and my car is modified but come on i am nearly 42 for gods sake !.me mate who sold me the car went on to buy a an r32 . he paid £500.00 last year , this year they want a grand!!!, told him to speak to performance direct ,they came back to him with a price ....£1300!!! . the answer why we pay so much is obvious ,but why does the honest geezer have to pay through the nose for those who choose not to have insurance?.
  11. thats what they do mate . mine and everyone on here is the same , they are dry as a bone when you start the car , no oil on them because it has drained down . it takes a few seconds on mine to stop ticking as the oil is pumped to the top, [last place the oil gets to] . i would not worry unless its like it when warm. i sorn my vr every winter as its only a weekend car and not a daily , when i got the tax last weekend , i started her up it sounded like a tractor! ok bit over the top but it was bad . i let her warm up as you should do ,few minutes later and a mile or so it was as quiet as it should be .dont let someone in a garage tell you that you need new cams !
  12. at the end of the day some people like em some dont , mine is black , go to bonnet bra on line and you will get prices and see how they look . i think they look cool but the point is it protects the front end compleatly ,surely thats the point ,if you have a brand new paint job as i do ,it needs to be protected . a respray costs alot of dough why ruin it ?.
  13. got the tax for her [earlier than usual as she hibernates] then took her out , man i have missed driving her so much .
  14. would be better off with the full gimp mask , as they protect everything on the front of the car and the wings as well .
  15. will take one if still up for grabs please , have not checked mine but im sure will come in handy , can you send pay pal please, regards rob .
  16. starting at the front of the car there is the a pillars , middle are your b's and the rear is c,s . simples .
  17. hey bud looking very nice ,will be great to meet up soon along with nath, matt and chris. regards rob
  18. if it was me i would take the whole cassette out , then you can have a proper look at it , yes you can remove it with the cassette in . but you will proberbly find one of the sliders has broken . be very carefull when you put the sunroof back in as it has to be aligned properly or you will break the slider again as they are very weak . you will find plenty of knowhow on here to fit it back as it should be . also it is better to fit with two people one inside the car to tighten the screws as the other lines it up properly.regards rob

    few raddo parts

just been in the loft , the first piece that goes in has a bit missing at one of the fixing points [where the plastic plugs go in ] and the top piece where the handbrake goes has a broken bit where the screw goes through. its been a long time since i have seen these bits , sorry to have wasted your time but they wont sit right in the car with these bits missing , my plastics are black and have these broken bits as well ! so i know how annoying it is .dont wont to sell something that is not pucker ,and have come backs , regards rob
