1. Following on from my Alternator Belt extravaganza the w/end before last, i've noticed that when the engine has just been started and i go to pull away, the engine fades like it's struggling to get fuel. The revs drop like a lead balloon and it doesn't seem to want to pick up until i take my foot off the accelerator, and then re-apply the throttle. But...... once it's been running for a few minutes, this problem disappears and all is hunky dory again. Does anyone have any ideas about this? I though that maybe i had fried my plugs while nursing the car back home after the belt went, but logic dictates it would be like this all the time if this was the case. Once again, one is Puzzled of Deepest Middlesex. ---------- Post added at 8:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 8:42 AM ---------- My mate has chipped in on this... suggests it might be the cold start sensor (or whatever it's called) and perhaps a wire has come off when the belt was being fitted. Does this make sense? Ta! :)
2. I was far too polite........... :norty:
3. What a magnificent specimen!! Very Nice! :D
4. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150893681478&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 VR6 Front Grille badge....... suitable for Corrado. G60. Yeah. Right. And he wants 50 Sovs for it. Right again!! :bonk:
5. Definitely going to do this online this time around. At least i won't have ro run the gauntlet of the crusty old git in the post office!! :)
6. Excellent!! Thanks all!! :D
7. Hi There, thanks for this. My new tax disc would start on the 1st October and the MOT is valid until the 15th. So hopefully, i shouldn't have any problem. Appreciate your input. Cheers.
8. My road tax runs out at the end of this month and my MOT is valid until the middle of October. I seem to recall the guy at the post office refusing to issue a new tax disc when i went to renew once and i think he said something about there not being a long enough validity on the MOT. Is there a minimum amount of validity on a MOT required when you renew your Road tax?
9. Saw a Silver Rado on Oatlands Drive, Walton yesterday evening at around 18.15. Gave a wave and the driver of the Silver Rado looked a bit bemused as he passed!! :shocked!:

Wah Wah Sob. The things you see when you haven't got 6.5 grand hanging around......... :pale:
11. Know it well... just down the A30 towards Staines.
12. There one here with lower grille..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180959885905&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 Cheers!
13. Wey Hey Hey. Happy Ending. Managed to find a mobile mechanic guy locally who was just about to finish for the day, but he came over anyway and was here within 20 minutes of calling him - and on a bank holiday as well! Diamond Geezer. Fitted in under half an hour - £40.00 and I'm happy. Looks like there's no other concerns. Just taken it out for a 10 mile run and the water temp is behaving itself and there's no steam coming out from under the bonnet or white plumes from the exhaust. I have my power steering back and all the guages are working properly again. This guy was absolutely brilliant and i have his contact number if anyone ever needs a mobile mechanic in the Heathrow, Staines, Walton On Thames and surrounding area. Thanks to everyone who chipped in with their thoughts. Greatly appreciated. :) :) :)
14. Okey D . Will get on with some phonig when the shops open. Forgot about GSF, there one in Feltham, about 5 miles away!! And i right in thinking that it's the same belf for a Gofl VR6 or a Corrado VR6? ---------- Post added at 8:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 8:23 AM ---------- Bingo. GSF have 2 in stock. £15.60!! Hopefully that's a result. :) :)
15. Thanks Floppyman, this was going to be my next question - but you answered it for me. I wondered if the beldtdrove anything else...... like the water pump. Explains a lot of things. Many, many thanks for your input. It's really appreciated. ---------- Post added at 11:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 PM ---------- Is this an enormous job do you know, or if i can source the part tomorrow, could a relative novice get this done? Looks like the air filter box has to come out to get at it - more than that i'm not sure about. Thanks.
16. Just noticed the above. Rather shiney with what looks to be lots of perished rubber hanging around underneath the shiney bit! Yes?
17. On the way home from work tonight, my battery light came on and i almost instantly lost my power steering. A couple of minutes later, the temperature light started flashing but eventually went out after about a minute or so. By the time i had nearly got home, i could see the guages (temp and petrol) giving false readings and they were both getting lower and lower. By the time i did get home, they were both practically giving no readings at all. The Cooler fans on the rad are doing strange things as well. When i leave the key in the ignition switch on, the fans are silent. As soon as i turn the ignition off and take the key out, they start up again. I'm guessing this could be Alternator problems, but TBH, i've not got any other clues than that. The one that's on there at the moment has been there since i got my Rado so it could be past it's sell by date. I've hooked up the battery charger and the needle shot over to max as soon as i threw the switch so there was bald-all left in the battery. There was pleny of fluid in the battery though and did not need topping up. Anyone out there got any ideas? Thanks in advance. P.S. I've just noticed some water on the pavement where the car was sat for a couple of minutes when i let myself in the house, and it's wet on the subframe directly under the water header tank, but there doesn't look to be any leaks coming from there!! ---------- Post added at 6:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:39 PM ---------- OK.... i've just topped up the header tank and the fans no longer kick in when i take the ignition key out. Still......
18. I really think Brussels should be gently nuked..... y'know, so we don't get any of the fall-out here across the channel. :)
19. Took the wife out for dinner last night & I was just about to order the steak when she said, "Why don't you try something you haven't had for a long time?" So I asked the waitress for some sex.
20. This has often mystified me. That said, Pasty crumbs are quite nutritious... even though they'd have to forrage for them down your cracks. :D

There's a guy on ebay breaking Corrados - his name is Mark contact number 07968 619952.
22. You're not wrong. I had three of the little beasties in there over the last year. :(
23. This drives me crackers. I currently have an arachnid inhabitant in my passenger side wing mirror. The little sod makes a fesh web evey night. I'm taking the motor down the Polish car wash at the w/end so i'll get them to jet-hose the little bugger out of there. Harrrumph. :D
24. I think if we all had inexhaustable funds to lavish on our Weapon Of Choice, there'd be a lot more 'mint' Corrados out there. I'm at the stage where i really need to have to have some bodywork done as it's starting to look a little tired now. But it's finding the dosh to get it done - i certainly can't afford an everything off, windows out respray.... as much as my beloved C needs it. I think i've had mine for about 7 years now and i've kept it as well maintained as i can. I've only had one major garage bill in all that time, so for the most part, i guess i've been lucky that it's only needed regular bits and pieces to keep it on the road in a road-worthy condition. I would really LOVE to splash out about 15K to bring up to (virtually) 'as new' condition, and i'd be totally prepared to do this - no second thoughts about it. So c'mon you lottery balls...... do your stuff. Just once. Please. :D
