Thanks for that. I haven't driven any Audi with those calipers as far as I can remember, so any insight into what they're like is useful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks Veedubbed, I suspected they would fit a vr hub, but had read somewhere the offset was wrong for the vr 280mm discs. I'm in a similar situation where I've currently got Brembo 4 pots with 17s, but keep thinking I want to go back to the standard speedlines, but will be needing really decent brakes. Hey guys, Just wondered if anyone has any experience of these calipers on a Corrado? What I would like to know is whether they will fit a Vr6 with the 5 bolt setup.. I am aware they bolt straight onto a 4 bolt setup with 280mm discs.. Also, are they more powerful than a 288mm setup? I am considering going back to 15s and need a powerful brake setup... Mine worked straight away when I connected it. Haven't heard of having to code the ecu. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ouch, that doesn't sound like tappets. Sounds much more sinister unfortunately and Dox has given good advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks Sean, yeah I'm a bit excited! Vince's own Turbo'd vr isn't running at the moment, I didn't ask why, but I saw it on the ramp while I was there. We agreed on around 375bhp, which I think should be enough :-/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's what I was afraid of with regards to stripping third gear! I think I have most other bases covered- 330mm discs and Porsche calipers certainly felt like overkill in the few weeks I was driving it with them fitted before it went to stealth, but I'm sure they will come into their own soon. It's already got quaife fitted from when the gearbox was rebuilt last year. We shall see. Funny that Vince never mentioned strengthened gears as an option since the gearbox is already apart. What power is vag-hag's pushing out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So, did he have them strengthened as a precautionary measure, or because of the damaged caused by the turbo?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It should be ready in June I think. It's already been there a few weeks, but he did say he wouldn't be able to get started immediately due to another job which had overrun a little. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So the car is currently at Stealth. I'm currently unsure if I've made the right decision, but it's having a stage 1 turbo conversion... I say I'm unsure, because I've never been in or experienced a Vr6 turbo and I'm a little concerned about things like drivability, traction, reliability etc.. too late now!! While it's there the gearbox I had rebuilt last year at great expense has had to come apart as it's been whining since the rebuild. Vince found that two gears had chipped teeth on them: It's a relief that the problem has finally been found and the gearbox should be good now to take the extra torque/power. I only just reinsured the Corrado this month after a break since last year. I am finding the steering on the 17s a little bit vague around the straight ahead position. I expected a difference in ride/handling after the speedlines, and there is a difference. However the ride is still acceptable for me, especially as it's a weekend car. I would just like to think the handling could be sharpened up a little further with a decent wheel alignment. The car is going to Stealth next week, so I'll see what can be done there. I'll have one please! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They are Evolos.. took a gamble on them looking ok as I hadn't seen them on a Corrado before. I'm pleased with how they look. Needed a 5mm spacer to clear the calipers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If there's anyone on here with a Turbo'd vr and fancies demoing it for me, that would be awesome :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's been a while once again! I was very close to selling the Corrado and getting something newer like an Edition 30 or similar. But then I thought that as quick as a newer car might be, I would probably regret selling the Corrado and it is hard to match, let alone beat for character. So I have decided to turbo it :-) Plans are afoot, but so far I have managed to source some bigger brakes and some wheels to accommodate them. The brakes are 330mm Alfa Brera discs, with Porsche 996 calipers. The discs actually rub on the ball joints, so I've had to grind them down a few mm! Hope I'm making the right decision as the car was very good as it was. I just found it was starting to suffer power wise against modern machinery, so a turbo should rectify that issue! Here they are when fitted to the car a few months ago: I can get more photos over the weekend. I have had quite a lot of interest by phone, all I would say is I really want them collected, rather than posting or couriering them, so if someone will agree to collect, they are theirs. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a set of front 288mm brakes, which are in excellent order as follows: Calipers- powder coated silver Carriers- powder coated in black Goodridge hoses to suit. Genuine vw discs and pads hardly worn. Only selling as I've just uprated to brembos. Pictures to follow. Collection only from Somerset due to weight. £100 collected. 07730526473 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am currently only 'considering' letting go of my beloved vr6, but I thought I'd put it on here to see if there is any interest. I can list the full spec later, but in the meantime please PM me if you want to know any more. 1993 vr6 Just about everything on the car has been replaced or rebuilt. Including a remanufactured 'vege' engine around 10k miles ago. The gearbox was rebuilt and detailed earlier this year and fitted with a new quaife differential at a cost of £2000. OBD2 Engine management conversion. Standard speedlines refurbished. Mk4 rear brakes 288 front brakes Braided hoses all round Full black leather recaro interior in excellent order. Mk4 golf heater box and controls (these work much better than the originals). Double din conversion with pioneer head unit. (I have a standard dash insert to put it back to standard if desired). Bilstein B12 suspension kit. Eibach anti roll bars Dave from the forum quickshift. Magnex stainless exhaust system. Teves 20 ABS system- massive improvement over standard. Basically almost everything has been done on this car. Drives superbly and is an excellent fast road car with the modifications it has. Bad bits Sunroof doesn't work (but have a spare mk3 golf and Corrado cassette) Has a few chips marks on the paint, but looks lovely for a 23 year old car. Often gets admired! I would be looking for around £7000 for this car as it has had many hours and a lot of money spent on it. Thanks Theo 07730 526473 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wanted- a known good or preferably rebuilt gearbox for my vr6. What have you got? Cheers
