  1. I love the look of a low car with big wheels as much as the next person, but with my car having 17s and Konis/lowering caps when I bought it, I know how unforgiving and uncompromising that setup can be. Fitting 15s made a huge difference to the way the car drives- they're lighter for a start and it handles better and rides better. The B12 kit is a great compromise for the road, they are a really acceptable stiffness 99% of the time, only getting crashy on really bad roads. I think the biggest problem with corrados now is their shell stiffness and integrity; they flex and move a bit over bumps and around corners, which newer cars don't do anywhere near as much and if you start lowering/fitting bigger wheels it only highlights the issue.
  2. I've just been out giving mine a clean, I've taken some better photos which shows the arch gap more clearly for anyone who's interested:
  3. Now you're asking.. I'll try and find out when I get home later. I bought it through a rally/Motorsport company which sells the same kit for other cars on ebay.
  4. Basically it handles excellently as it did before, but the ride is much more compliant. A definite improvement.
  5. Here's a couple of photos of mine post B12 fitment.. It sits at roughly the same height as it did before when it had koni t/a and h+r springs. I'm not sure how it would look with 17s to be honest.. It is obviously lower than standard, but not that low. But it never rubs or scrapes either :)
  6. Well, here goes.. I've been contemplating selling the car for a few weeks as I fancy a change. I have owned the car since October 2009. Please see the build thread also. 1993 Aqua Blue Vr6 156k on the clock Long Mot, short tax STACKS of service history, going back to the nineties and service book/wallet etc. This car has benefitted from a relentless stream of time and money being spent on it in my ownership as follows: Engine - remanufactured Vege engine fitted 2000ish miles ago. Run in and had it's first oil change at 500 miles. Running very sweetly. Alpine CD/USB head unit with alpine speakers front and rear 6x9s, neatly fitted. There is also a bonnet bra, which came with the car when I bought it, but I've never fitted it. The list goes on. I would really like anyone who is interested in the car to come and view it before making any offers etc, so that an informed decision can be made. The bodywork looks stunning when all cleaned and polished, but does have age related marks here and there and the odd bit of lacquer peel if you look closely. I had the front wings, bumper and bonnet painted when I bought the car, but there are a few stone chips to the front now. To be honest, I was always glad the body isn't completely perfect as I bought the car to be driven. The interior is pretty much mint, the recaros are in very good condition and I had the drivers bolster repaired to a high standard. The car has been driven since the rebuild, so suspension components etc, are now a little dirty. The spoiler works fine, but the sunroof has stopped working. It used to work fine, but gradually became slower before giving up - I believe the mechanism is stiff and needs removing, lubricating etc as you can hear the motor trying to work and it spins freely when removed from the cassette. Everything else works fine and there are no faults on Vagcom. Please call 07730526473 to discuss any further. I'm not in a hurry to sell and I would be quite ok with keeping it for another year or so if no one wants it. £5500 Theo I have many, many more photos available upon request.
  7. Charlie- yes we should get the cars together, I'm up for meeting up sometime :)
  8. If I could get 6.5k I'd be a happy man! Glad to hear yours is getting there Sean, bet you're looking forward to driving it again.
  9. Could it not be that the centre console has been removed at some point and when refitted pushed the wires out of sight?
  10. Thanks Sean, I'm not fully decided yet, but I can feel my feet getting itchy! I need to decide on a price too, which may sway me against selling as i probably want more for it than it's worth potentially. How's yours doing now Sean?
  11. I am contemplating selling this car soon... I love the car and have enjoyed driving and working on it, but feel like a change, current thinking is an Audi TT QS or an S3.
  12. Looking great Sean, this brings back memories of last winter for me! It's gonna be great when it's done. Did you do anything with that engine? I hope it was ok for you.
  13. Hi, I have actually bought a pair of front looms from P3rks now.
  14. Hey Sean, I struggled like f*** doing those bushes! Tried pulling them through like you've been doing to no avail. In the end another mechanic friend of mine said he'd done loads and that they're easy to do... He used a long screwdriver to literally just push them in, one side first then the other.. Lots of brute force required, but by the time he got to the forth one he was doing it easily. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I really don't think pressing them in works as they slip and deform as you've said. Also, while my friend pushed them in, I held on to the crossmember as tightly as I could on the floor to stop it from moving around.
  15. I have just spent a while today diagnosing an ABS fault on my Vr6 and have concluded that the Front Left loom is at fault- the one from the suspension turret to the sensor. Anyone got one in good working condition? Thanks
  16. Hi, do you have the front left abs loom (sensor to suspension turret)? Thanks
  17. I've had problems a couple of times with the free and pro versions, but clearing the cache usually sorts it.
  18. Haha, I'm in Yeovil every day. I'll pm you.
  19. I can get one.. It basically clips around the lower strut bolt on the front of the car and the abs loom clips into it.
  20. Yes, Corrados definitely have much nicer quality carpets than mk2s.
  21. Or does anyone know what it's actually called?
  22. Hi there, Do you have an abs loom bracket? The one that clips over the lower strut bolt at the front? Thanks
  23. Hi, I am after one of the small brackets that clip over the lower strut bolt on the front for the abs wiring harness to clip into. Does anyone have one?
