*chopped* I got my facts totally fubar.. forget I ever posted in here.

I believe the cost of insurance relates to a number of things.. as much as it bugs me to admit it. I think some factors that contribute to high insurance for the Corrado are : * Was a very regularly stolen car up until a few years ago.. * Quite rare.. only 9000 were ever bought into the UK.. how many do you think are left now? * Very expensive to fix should something go wrong, compared to say a Ford Focus. * Still has quite brisk performance compared to some cars on the road! And thats why we get eaten alive by the insurance companies..

Just thought I would pop in a little advert for Stealth Racing who are based just out of Coventry in Southam (yes, very conveniently close) - I have so far had a bit of work done there, and I am more than happy with their service. Vince is a really helpful guy, and they really know what they are doing.. if you want some work doing, and you live in the West Midlands, I can't reccomend them enough! That is all :)

I currently have the same that comes from the back from time to time.. especially if is cold / wet outside, and the car has been standing for some time. I think its a binding brake caliper..

None of my family have any real knowledge or interest in cars or car parts.. I'd like a new exhaust for my C to be honest.. but I dont think i'd be getting that some how :)

I was reccomended to use 15w/40 as it is slightly thicker than 10w/40 and makes the engine sound a little smoother.. I changed over to 15w/40 in the summer and it seemed fine. But 10w/40 is also just as good.

My word.. that is quiet a shocking story. I dont live anywhere near London, but I will be sure to keep that name in mind! You managed to get the car all squared up now though?
-
What happenes to it exactly, when it is not starting? Does the engine turn over but just not start, or does it behave totally as if it is dead? I am not sure on a solution to your problem, but just trying to get as much detail out in the open in the hope that someone might :)

To compliment what Mark said... I have read that the mod only takes 5 minutes to do, and apparently works amazingly. As in like real window wipers ;) The only downer I can see is that they look quite weird - they seem to curve in a stange way? Dunno.. I hope to do the mod myself some time in the new year.. 50 odd quid seems like a good deal to get the awful wipes sorted out :)

Er.. I'd be really careful about printing up CCGB articles on here - I really doubt that they would appreciate it!

Ross, That would definately be a misprint.. an induction kit alone would not improve the output from the 1.8 16v by around 55BHP. It would be the same power as the VR6. That car has probably had a tonne of work done on it to get it that powerful. Would be nice if an induction kit allowed you to put out that much power though ;)

To be fair, I have had my share of frustrating moments with the Corrado. I keep thinking why the hell keep pumping money into the damn thing when I could just get shut of it and drive something functional. But there is just something about the car when you look out of the window of your house on a sunny day and your freshly washed & waxed Corrado is sat gleaming in the street.... you kinda take it all back :)
-
Andi - you are determined to pimp that story to EVERYONE aren't you?! :)
-
Havent had any money for mods yet :( Though the best thing I have bought for my car is my Pioneer P7400MP head unit - to finally have a CD player after months of no radio reception and the same 2 cassettes (I dont have many tapes!) it was total relief :)
-
I think 18's might look just tooo big on a Corrado... Though why dont you buy em if they are such a steal, and try sell them on again at a higher price? :)
-
That can't be too easy in a Corrado - they aint exactly the most spacious of cars! :)
-
Hm - I have to be honest and say I have never experienced skipping with CD's in my Pioneer head unit - in contrast, a mate with a Pioneer CD changer does get skips from time to time when he hits one of the many Coventry potholes. Are you running a modified suspension setup, or the de facto VW one?
-
A few of those are true.... Though not number 6 - I hate using my Corrado as a taxi, especially when some of my friends dont really think about slamming the doors and breaking interior trim as they are not car owners themselves, and dont appreciate what it costs to keep something like the C on the road!

Tony, Try getting a quote through their online service - I bet it gives you a price! They even quoted me for a TVR Tuscan despite being 21... :)
-
Thank you - thats a very generous offer :)

Can't go too wrong with German/Swedish either : http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ Another good company for trim & body parts instead of engine bits, are GPC : http://www.gpcvwaudi.com/ :)

I have Pagid Fast Road pads - they have lasted me 7000 miles or there about so far - I hope they dont need replacing again at my next service! I'll let you know - its due early next year. BTW - my discs are Pagid as well...

Ah, one of my favourites :) I think those alloys look super sweet on that car - its lowered just right :) And welcome to the site Nik.

The fact it looks so good despite the design being well over 12 years old... I like the way people still don't know what the car is, or stop me to talk about it despite its age and affordability (apart from as VR6 said, the bloody upkeep). I like the colours they come in.. I like the fact that they have yet to be bastardised and ruined by Nova boys... and I have to say that I like the electric spoiler :D

Crikey - you are a 150+ mile drive away! Thanks for that excellent price but the money I'd save I would end up spending on petrol :)
