Hehe... VAG's version of the Elephant Man :)
-
Cheers Jeremy.. You dont need to tell me.. already made my membership fee back this year thanks to VW giving me parts club discount on an exhaust backbox :) CCGB membership is definately worth the £15!
-
Thanks for the offer mate, but I have already put the order in with VW. Its due in on Tuesday, and as my car sounds like a bomb at the minute, I am desperate to get it!! :) I tried German Swedish but they said that on 1992 or later models, its a dealer part only - they basically dont stock back boxes for em. And VW were kind enough to give me parts club discount on that as well - should have been £136, so I saved 20 quid.
-
Got some bad news for you mate... I won't be going. I had actually planned to go but two things have interfered : Firstly my backbox fell apart and I have had to order a new one from VW at the cost of £116 - quite astounded at how low that price is from VW actually, but none the less its an expense I hadn't counted on, and I am now f'ing skint. Secondly, I have the option of working this Sunday at double pay - with the exhaust incident, and my service looming, I am trying to get as much pay as I can so the overtime is going to win out. I'll definately go to the next one though - there is still the summer to go, and plenty more RWYB's to see :)
-
Jesus.. it went for 50 quid!! I bet they are still available at the dealers.. i'll try remeber to ask when I go Tuesday.
-
I posted this to the CCGB e-group earlier, but can't be bothered to retype it again, so this is what I posted. If you read what I said in the thread 'Exhausts...' earlier, you would see that my back box decided to fall apart today so :
-
Argh.. for a decent backbox (Supersprint) been quoted about £250 fitted by Stealth Racing. *sob* Is there any reason I should keep this frickin car :(
-
Looks like my backbox is buggered.. mate came down and it was only hanging on my a single rubber hanger, and the the backbox basically fell off in his hands. Sooo .. new backbox for me then! Another f'ing bill!!
-
Uh-oh... looks like I might be needing a new exhaust sooner than I thought. And damn.. I cant really afford to get it done right now! I thought it was blowing a bit last night on the way home, but started the car this morning and jesus it sounds awful.. kinda booming from the backbox. Sounds terrible! And it knocks when I go over bumps... Is it possible it has just come loose... I might see if the local tyre + exhaust place can just re-seal it this weekend or something.

The first picture provides a pretty good view of em.. they look slightly more subtle than the old Corrado ones. But they also suit the car without a doubt. Definately one on the planned mods list :D

Ah the joys of remote desktop.. managed to get to my home machine and check the email. Sizes are : Front speakers in the door are 13cm or 5.25 inch. Apparently any decent tweeter will fit in the dash speaker bit. 6"x4" in the factory rear shelf supports. Hope that helps! :)

I've got an email with them in at home... if I remember, i'll post em up tonite :)
-
Oh dear :) A Nova'd Corrado! :D
-
Hey.. new forum banner : :D
-
Haha... man, that thing is shocking. Almost as good as the 'Best Corrado Ever' that was featured on the CCGB last year.. :)
-
Oh my god... that yellow Corrado is a shocker.. I like the different pairs of alloys on front and back. Must be paying for em on a monthly basis.. one wheel delivered at a time! :)
-
Its not our fault you live off over on Craggy Island or wherever it is :D :D And Andi.. I am *hoping* to go - its not 100% decided yet though! :)

Well, I did this trick this morning before I set off for work, and indeed it does give later model cars a much more limited set of goodies. I found when I did the trick and started the car it was instantly on the real time MPG stats... so at idle, was getting about 0.7MPG, and when cruising down a hill with my foot off the gas, hit up to 99MPG (as the fuel injection cuts out when on run off) - I can't vouch for what happens with the G60 as its obviously different on 2.0 16v. 2.0 8v, and VR's. Again, once you have done the trick, should simply be a question of pressing the MFA button in to cycle through the options.. will give you a number depending on which mode you are in, which should correspond to the list I wrote originally. HTH! :)

I really do like the 'two tone' interior on the Jet.. I've said that before, so I dont mind saying it again :D

Thats one weird machine! I am in two minds about it..........

WHO'S ALL GOING TO GTI-INTERNATIONAL THIS YEAR???

Hoping to go this year.. never been before, so it would certainly be an experience :) -
I am pretty certain that most of these cool features are only available on Pretty sure I read that somewhere!

Fat Tony, Found my copy of the Sprinter.. here is the procedure : 1) Select neutral, and switch to memory mode two on the MFA stalk.. 2) Turn on the ignition, then press and hold the MFA select button. 3) Turn off the ignition, whilst still holding the MFA select button. 4) Turn on the ignition, whilst still holding the MFA select button, but this time actually start the car. Bingo.. should see a 4 digit number appear on the screen (a checksum calculated by the computer, which doesnt mean much to you or me) and then off you go. There are 6 different displays available to you.. these are : Press 1 - Intake Vacuum Manifold Press 2 - Engine speed display in RPM Press 3 - Memory Fuel Consumption Press 4 - Speed Sensor Impulse Press 5 - Oil Temp in Degrees Centigrade Press 6 - Ambient Temp In Degrees Centigrade I have to try this myself some time :)
