Class car in a great setting :) :salute:

Thats it, Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm in the same boat, it takes a lot of money, time & effort to get these cars the way we want them But their worth it... :) The black really looks good when polished btw sorry to hear about behind the filler cap, how bad is it? I checked behind my filler cap the other day & thankfully its ok.

Thats a good point, I did ask Lee this and he answered 'lets wait and see how many we have on Friday' I've basically been told today that yes, a mistake was made but there is no way that they could sell the kits for £255 -30% and make money. He didn't come straight out and say but I think that he will give 25% discount if there is between 1-5, and -30% if there is 10 or more. All this has taken the shine off the original deal I thought we could get but I don't think we'll get a better deal anywhere else. And I fully understand if some of you guys don't wish to go ahead as the offer on the table now is not what you signed up for

Nice pics Aide, car is looking good... the grommet is a good job too 8) It seems like you've just got the car on the road & now its time for hibernation again :) How do you find the brakes now they've bedded in?
-
Ok, been speaking & trying to haggle a bit with Lee at Amber. He has told me that they cannot go any cheaper than £202.93 for the VR6 kit and the matching clip set will be £21.86 + postage (around £5). Lee has told me that the trade discount they give to their fellow traders is £289 -20%. So it looks like thats the best were gonna get... They haven't taken any money from anyone yet, just payment details. As I mentioned earlier they intend to place the order this Friday after they have totaled the numbers of those who are definitely in.

Beautiful car there A1 :salute:
-
Amber say that the ebay price is reduced to sell as well
-
Yeah, there all made from aluminium although I see some of them say that theirs are made from aerospace grade  The only other differences is some are hubcentric meaning that there is a lip on the spacer the same as the hub eg. 57.1mm diameter
-
Thats Great... then you can make us all our exhausts for our turbo conversions  in fact you could supply us with all the parts & the 'How to' is right here.
-
That depends on what you guys want me to do. We all seem to be thinking along the same lines & I think your suggestion on splitting the difference is a good option to try.

Liking the pics in the car park 8) The wheels are unusual & really suit the corrado as well. I see you are taking good care of your rubber window surrounds :) Lighter colours really show off the lines of a Corrado but you can also notice all the panel joints in lighter colours as well. Its a pity we couldn't buy something that could soften the look of those panel joints

Exactly what I was thinking.

Yeah, Lee said that he has your details ok

Ok, just been on the phone to Lee at Amber Performance to sort a few things out. Basicially he told me that the original price he gave me (see first post) is +VAT. I explained to him that he quoted me a 'retail price' of £255.25. We then had a discussion on the meaning of retail price. For me the definition of Retail Price is; 'The price an item is sold for in a store to the public' (same as selling price). In other words VAT is already included. Anyway to cut a long story short Amber are now telling me that the cost of the VR6 kit will be £202.93 and the matching clip set will be £21.86 + postage. Lee tried to explain to me that there has been a misunderstanding somewhere but believe me there is no misunderstanding, just a mistake with the original price that Amber sent me. Thankfully I have the message he sent to back it up (which I copied & pasted in the first post of this thread) The price is irrelavant to me as I'm getting a kit anyway but I'm interested to hear your thoughts...
-
Amazimg :notworthy: and I thought I was fussy  Your car is truly OEM+
-
I'm not sure what you mean manps... They shouldn't have taken your payment yet. They are only supposed to take your details & take the payments out next Friday. On the first post of this thread the price quoted of £255.25 was copied & pasted from an email that 'amber performance' sent me. Did you mention the Group Buy because the price you paid is too much? If not I'm sure we'll get it sorted
-
Yes, you're right :D I've spoken to James at amber performance today & he suggested that we call them individually & give them our details on what we want as well as our payment details. As Jaime said their number is 0845 260 0015. Mention to them that you're part of this GB and give your forum name so as to be eligible for the discount. Friday the 15th will be the deadline date when he counts up how many we have & how much discount we will get. After that they will take payments & order what they don't have in stock & post out to us individually as soon as they come in. I'll be calling them tomorrow to give them my details and it would be good if everyone has this done before next Friday. Regarding the fitments for the 16v 9a etc. he said that each customer needs to know their requirements as they (Amber) don't know about all the different Corrado variations. The reason they can give us such good discount is because we (forum members) can usually sort out between us what is needed for each car. So that's it for now, as the numbers are so tight I guess we are all depending on each other to honour our word

I'm ready to order now but there seems to be a few issues that I don't have the answers to yet regarding fitting other Corrado's apart from the VR6. Apparently the G60 kit is for LHD cars but will fit with a bit of modification. I've also been asked about a G60 with air conditioning. Also it seems that for the 16v 9a engine you can use the kit for the 16v Mk2 Golf. The thing is I can't guarantee any of this if Samco won't. If we can't get the guy's without a VR6 kit sorted then we don't have 10 therefore the discount will be 25%. This means that a couple more guys are out because they will only buy if there is 10 or more to get the 30% discount. Hopefully I will have definitive answers to all the above issues sorted by Friday, either way.
-
Hoping to order them during the week, I'll PM everyone tomorrow to get final numbers
-

These are corrado hoses modified to fit a VR6 Passat, should give you some idea. I noticed that many of the guys who have a coloured Samco hose kit also have matching HT leads
-
Yeah, that's what I meant. I'm in the same boat with money & mods, it costs a lot more to upgrade the engine than to do little cosmetic bits. I'm at a stage now though that there's no more cosmetic things to do. I have the wheels I wanted & colour coded almost everything  Only things to do next is engine tuning, again due to costs I was seriously considering supercharging. But I'm now thinking it may be worth saving a little longer and going for a turbo. That's why I liked these cams because they can be fitted to a standard VR to give good results on a budget & even better will complement any future turbo upgrade. You VRT guys were sort of guinea pigs in that you had to deal with all the problems in getting matching parts to do the best job. Would you say that the setup you have now is the best way to go?
-
After reading your posts regarding how good the standard set up was with the Schimmel intake, I did some research on them. They seem to be a great £ for £ modification as they improve the idle & increase the VR torque curve consistantly throughout the range & can increase power upto 221bhp. Then I noticed that you arranged a GB for these around April/May this year. Wish I'd of seen that as I would definitly have had myself a set of these. My car was off the road for a few years & I just got it back on June this year. I hadn't been looking at anything Corrado related in this time either so I guess it just wasn't to be... maybe next time
