:shocked!: Now that's a project... keep up the good work :notworthy: what happened the old roof strips? did you damage them taking them off? Reason I'm asking is if you still have the old ones they can be restored to look like new using a Stanley knife & some laquer

Guess what... I do have the nuts with the lips on them & I now have them fitted back on the car :( I think I'll take them out of the car again, lay all the parts out on the floor & post a pic of them on here. Thanks again all :salute:

Hi Mawrick, I live in a town called Strabane, it's North West of the country, on the border between Co. Donegal & Co.Tyrone :D Thanks for the illustration but I have no.7 and no.8 the other way round

I think that the mouldings having less texture is a good thing. The texture is what catches & holds all the dirt & grime. If the mouldings were smoother then they'll not get as dirty in the first place &, they'll be easier to wipe clean. The trick is to get them evenly smooth i.e. you don't want them patchy with a mix of smooth & texture

 you have it right in the post above, the only things missing from my pic is the top saucer & nut. I'll put those on when fitting to the car. The main thing I was worried about was the metal bearing... I wasn't sure if it went above or below the rubber mount. But now you have all confirmed that it goes between the rubber mount & the red metal cap thanks all :D

Thanks for the replies guys, I still have the top saucer & 22mm nut to go in after I fit it back into the car. Think I have everything in the right order then :D Anyone know about the spring? The spring can go in either way but I decided to put the fatter part towards the top just in case it fouls the wheels or anything. Then when I look at it I'm thinking the spring is more compressed at the fatter end so maybe it should be at the bottom for stability

I'd intended on replacing the front top mounts last night but ran into a few difficulties. Finished up just after 1a.m. with only the drivers side done. I'm gonna do the other side tonight & take plenty of pics for a 'How To'. Heres the drivers side assembled before fitting it back onto the car...

Hi all, I'm fitting new top mounts to my VR & would like someone to have a look & tell me if I've got it right. I've fitted the metal bearing between the top red cap on the strut & the mount itself. Then I used the nut with the lip to fix the mount & bearing to the strut. Another question, is the spring the right way up? Thanks

Chris Langdon's Moonlight Blue VR6 thread!!!

Another near perfect Corrado... good to see you back Chris :salute: -
Good job on the mouldings, looks great :thumb right:
-
OK I know what you mean now, I've never seen the In,Pro's in the flesh. Looking forward to seeing the plinth fitted :)
-
Well done mate, that looks like it was done by a Pro :salute: The best thing about using the vinyl is the low maintenance from now on :D Regarding your back lights, just mask off the reverse lights before you tint them & all will look 8) . You can either mask off the whole block of the reverse light or use 5mm horizontal strips for that OEM look :D
-
Anyone know if these are the fitments for the early or later corrado's?
-
That's good to see how a solenoid works,no reason why that set up wouldn't work for years. If I were you Wayne I'd red tint the rear lights, I think the all red rears would really suit the more modern colour as well.

Sorry to hear about your problems mate... It might be worth taking it to someone who can check your electrics. If you don't have the knowledge or tools to check then it'll be £30 - £40 well spent You should be able to get the exhaust welded for ourond £20 The handbrake adjuster may need to be freed up & lubricated, get some WD40 & when the exhaust guy has it up on the lift get him to look at it for you Around town you should get 25-30 mpg IIRC Whatever way you look at it you're gonna have to spend another few pounds to get it sorted Good luck with it

WOW, that is some finish... that guy deserves his fag break :notworthy: Love the colour too, think it really suits the Corrado :salute:

That's part of the joke... not

Yours off to the sprayers now then? Looking forward to seeing the finished product 8) The 3M stuff costs us £30 per m2  I know. PM me your address & I'll send you enough to do your rear plate plinth. I'll send you a piece approx 250 x 750mm, that should cover it. I think it would look really well on a dark coloured car like yours. Is the GTINI on the last Sunday of the month then? Where is it being held? I'll bring some of the CF with me when we meet up & you can have it FOC :D
-
Nightmare alright, did you go back to him for your cap?
-
Mad all right, I actually sat back from my screen, waiting for those pistons to pop :cuckoo: I subscribed to their channel

It comes on a roll 1220mm wide. The stuff I'm using now is 3M and it actually feels like CF to touch. The only thing is it's fairly hard so can't be used to wrap anything with to much of a contour. The cf stuff I used on my grill is a lot softer material and conforms much better to contours but doesn't look as realistic. I work for a sign company so we use different types of vinyl's for signmaking. I'm just using left over off-cuts, need to be careful of overkill when I have easy access to the stuff :) To answer your question it's cut using a computer to design & a plotter to cut it. Easy enough when you know how. Looks like it's just me and you for the meet so far lol
